The whole property was a delight with a comfortable bedroom and good shower room. Plenty of space for clothes and cases. The lighting in the bathroom was superb but it was a bit too subtle in the bedroom. Great location with available parking close by - although challenging to negotiate the historical streets. The breakfast room was welcoming and we loved the non-corporate feel of the place. The pool was not open but would be a lovely space in the summer.

Unfortunately the advertised 'bar' did not exist, even though there was a price list in the room. This was a major negative for us as we like to have a cup of tea on returning from sightseeing or a glass of wine before going out in the evening. Had there been a kettle in the room this would have at least helped. We were given a key to the front door as the reception was only attended in the early morning - although you could phone for assistance. Breakfast was basic but the girl was extremely helpful in making teas 'the English way' for us.

The building was an amazing historic building, I felt as though I was staying in a museum! The gardens were very interesting too but being early in the season needed a little tidying and the pool was not ready for use. Set high up in Trujillo it yielded great views on the way back after eating evening meal in the town centre.

The proprietor sent instructions on how to get to hotel after we left GB & access to computer! so we had trouble finding a route through the winding narrow streets of the historical town to the hotel- worth it on arrival!

Beautiful hotel in an old building, design and decor was astonishing, several common rooms with books, sofas, chess boards and other relaxing areas. We spent a lot of time in the lovely garden, and we had a great time just wandering around enjoying the surroundings. Trujillo and Palacio Chavez was our best stop in southern Spain!

Good location, beautiful building, clean. Facilities I give an ok note because the pool is not available but the rest was perfect. Check in easy. Location is central, that comes with some challenges to drive thru the narrow streets but it's part of the experience. We parked next to the hotel without any issue

XVI building building with a lot of history, old original prints mixed with modern and contemporary art, ancient and Bauhaus furniture, nice garden, very quiet atmosphere, very nice host who turned out to be a writer, very beautiful surroundings

Amazing location in the historical center of Trujillo, just a few minutes by walk from the main square but in a quiet area. The house and the garden is full of charm. Room was big and very clean. Breakfast very good. A true gem for travellers in search of authenticity.

Room was very large and well appointed. Host was extremely friendly and helpful.

Did not realize there were no elevators (property is historic and it would not be possible to retrofit them). Some of the doorways were a bit low, and you had to be careful not to hit your head.

This is an exceptionally beautiful and tranquil place to stay. Wonderful location, peaceful garden and lovely pool, and all the help you need at hand. The place I'd choose to finish writing a book...

Nothing

From the first minute one steps in, one is stepping back in time. You are practically staying in what can be called a "casa-museo" (a museum-home). a renovated 16th century palace with a huge collection of books and an eclectic collection of art. A unique experience by all means. After checking all the rooms (we were the only guests), we chose superior one, and highly recommend you do the same. These rooms are really amazing (so are the standard ones - no worries).

The staff were helpful. The pool and garden were lovely. The house is atmospheric. The location was good. Breakfast was good but a bit pricey.

Not all the electric sockets worked in the bedroom.
