Everything was perfect - location + parking accommodations, hotel staff, etc. Modern hotel at the edge of the old medieval town, easy and quick access to Plaza Mayor and old town, and very convenient to take day trips - we enjoyed Caceres in no-rush mode for 2 days, on other days we'd visited Merida and Trujillo. Extremadura is a very special place, being genuine and have real Spanish spirit, it has it all: Roman and Medieval sights and culture, history, amazing cathedrals, monasteries and convents. You'll not be disturbed by self obsessed day trippers. Just get a rental car, learn a bit of Spanish phrases, and you will have it all to yourself. Should I mention top notch restaurants; btw, our favorite restaurants were Casa del Sol and @ local parador, both in Caceres)

Friendly welcome at reception, great breakfast and very comfortable beds. We used the car park overnight as it was very handy for our loaded. Ar heading back to. Britain.

We were there on a Saturday night and the hotel was very busy with residents. As it was pouring with rain, we decided to eat in the hotel, but the small bar/bistro restaurant was fully booked (perhaps 10 tables). Room service was our next choice which was good and arrived on time. We realised in the morning that there was a very large restaurant serving breakfast for lots and lots of residents, but it hadn’t been open the night before. Perhaps closed for winter.

Great location for an overnight stop on the way north to Santander but I would stay longer. Clean, comfortable and quiet with welcoming staff, quality, huge beds, nice linens and toiletries. The stand out feature is Origins restaurant on site. Amazing food and a special mention to the maitre d who is a sommelier with a great knowledge of local wines and produce of Extramadura. He suggested wines to pair with my food and made a great evening. Car park and a nice spa on site and dog friendly. The location is perfect for the old town.

Nothing it's a gem

The room was really big and they offered a bed and feeding bowls for our dog. The parking is in the same building as the hotel, which was really nice. Wifi was ok, and it is possible to take the dog with you for breakfast on the terrace. The staff was really nice.

The breakfast hall can get a bit overwhelming if you are neurodivergent as the machines make a lot of loud noises and the acoustics of the place make the conversations sound really loud. If you are neurodivergent, I recommend getting your food and eating on the terrace instead of the hall.

Great lo action close to city centre. It was a great value for money. Breakfast was average. Staff were generally helpful except for one receptionist who insisted that I don't know how to use the card key when I told him it stopped working and came with me to my room door to make sure 'I can learn' how to open the door with the card. Maybe it was only a language barrier that he couldn't use the right vocabulary

The room had very little natural lighting except for a narrow and high window that was looking into an internal volume of open air. No view or sunlight could come into the room at any time of day

This is the 2nd time we stayed @GHDM, no disappointments. My family are very comfortable staying here. The underground parking is €12 peace of mind. Bed and breakfast was a fair price about £120 in total for a family of 3. The breakfast by Luis the chef and his team was exceptional. Extremely attentive staff at front desk, the breakfast restaurant is well presented with abundant fresh food with local treats on offer. I am vegan, as soon as I pointed out that i had one cereal option, Luis insisted that he made me a fresh grilled vegetable breakfast, with a side or cereals, brown toast, aguacate y blended tomato for my bread. Absolutely outstanding effect, not to mention how delicious my breakfast was. I felt like a queen! We will surely return because it’s very easy to stay here, centrally located. There was a huge fiesta happening in the plaza and 2 years ago a live orchestra played from the plaza castle….amazing, I preferred the orchestra to the fiesta but each to their own. The fiesta was well Policed and we felt safe to walk to through the enchanting old town to walk off our dinner until about 1am. Love this place! No complaints. I hope they keep their standards. Never used the gym or spa.

Parking was excellent with elevator to hotel lobby and rooms from garage. We stayed in a 2BR apartment which was across plaza (30m) from hotel lobby - they had a luggage cart available to assist. Apartment was very new, clean and well equipped. Nice comfy LR furniture and big TV. Well equiped kitchen with new pans. A short walk to center of old town (like 7-8 minutes but uphill). Very easy to get to hotel with car and easy to get back to main roads. Good communications through booking app.

Pillows hard. Wait for lunch was long and we wound up leaving. Garage usually opened automatically by plate reader but this didn't work after we checked out which caused a slight delay to get it sorted. Initial room had problems with AC/fridge which was detected before we unpacked so not a big deal.

We've stayed at this hotel before, and when we were travelling this time, we diverted to stay here again. The rooms are very nice and the beds are really comfortable. I didn't want to get up! :0) They have parking underneath the hotel (height 2:00m), and a restaurant. It's easy to walk into the town. We're planning another trip in this area in October and will stay here again.

There was nothing that I could criticise or improve upon.

Centrally located near the Plaza Major but far enough away so not noisy. Large rooms and very pleasant staff. Reasonably priced safe parking directly below the hotel. (Tricky to find at first). Very comfortable bed, large clean bathroom. Breakfast - a modest 13€ - is good but not outstanding. Free wi-fi is fine in the room. Minibar was stocked with just 2 bottles of water and 2 Cokes - both charged for - a waste of space. No English news channels on the elderly flat screen tv. However the only other 4 star hotel a 2 minute walk to this most attractive old city square but away from any noise is twice the price (summer 2023 prices) and has small rooms due to its historic nature. Therefore I shall continue using Don Manuel

No English language TV news channels

The hotel is “tucked “ away in a side street in a very quiet part of the town, great. It is a very impressive building having excellent parking facilities. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is excellent 👌. Our room was very large and perfectly clean.

The hotel is excellent. BUT don’t follow your satnav to get there. There are road closures leading to the hotel and the satnav couldn’t work its way around them. There are hotel signs on posts and sides of buildings, follow these signs and you will get to the hotel.
