The building is beautiful, and not overly renovated. The situation is exceptional, on a major, beautiful, historical pedestrian square. Although I reserved the cheapest room, I had the pleasant surprise to be accommodated in a very large, lavishly furnished room, with a huge bathroom and entrance hall. It was very quiet, too. The air conditioning was almost totally silent. I felt very much at home. The restaurant is excellent. The maître de was absolutely perfect.
The staff at the reception did not speak English. It was not very efficient in helping me in my errands, finding a parking e.g. I do not see anything to criticize. The staff at the restaurant did not speak English, either. Good opportunity to practice my Spanish.

The building itself is spectacular and its location is superb. The restaurant staff were very attentive and both dinners were excellent. We appreciated the window in the bathroom and its view! The bedroom had proper wooden shutters to ensure a good night's sleep.
Not enough staff to help bring the luggage in and out of the hotel. There are quite a number of steps into the lobby of the property from the street. TV access was difficult to operate and the Wi-Fi password was case sensitive, e.g. the first letter had to be a capital P. This was not explained,

The building is ideally located in the most beautiful square in Ubeda. The room size was generous and decorated in a beautiful traditional manner. The breakfast was very good.
We were not made aware of construction work prior to our arrival - I might have made a different choice based on the amount of disruption. We were offered a room upgrade as compensation which I appreciate.

Impressive, old palace in a charming town. The building feels very authentic, unlike some other paradors in Spain remodeled in a “too contemporary”, generic fashion. Squeaky floors, heavy door key, original floor tiles remembering hundreds of years of Spanish history and an impressive indoor patio complete the unforgettable impression.
There is no parking on parador grounds and so you have to find a spot on your own in one of the surrounding small streets or find a formal parking lot several blocks away. We found one easily but be prepared to roll your luggage on rough sidewalks possibly for several blocks.

Extremely spacious rooms, more like a suite really, patio was in a central garden with fountain
Building partly under renovation, no parking, we had to park in a public area 5 minutes away and there was a bike race the day we left so all cars had to move by 10am otherwise they’d be removed by crane.

The Parador is an exceptional historical building that is very well converted into a hotel. We arrived in town at 3pm, on a Sunday, and were worried about getting lunch. No problem: great lunch in the restauurant, which did not close until 4pm.
Unfortunately, the advertised opening of the restaurant at 8pm for dinner did not occur (nor at 9, nor at 10). No explanation, no warning from the staff, even though we had enquired about dinner. The breakfast is OK (definitely no more than that; I cannot agree with more positive reviews). A reasonable buffet, with the possiblitly to order a hot dish. The omelette was freshly made, and good. The scrambled eggs were rubbery and the bacon was greasy and flabby. Not worth €19 per person. Not even close. This was almost as bad as an English hotel breakfast.

Beautiful room
We went to breakfast and asked for eggs and coffee and tea and toast and were told that we could not stay in the restaurant and eat as it was only tor buffet. After complaining about this at the restaurant and at the front desk, we were told nothing could be done about it. So we brought the breakfast to our room and the eggs and toast were not even warm by then. The woman at the front desk said we still would be charged the 10 euros for the breakfast. Bad form!

Perfect place for a couple to relax and enjoy a very unique Spanish culture. This hotel showcases the history of Úbeda incredibly well. The furniture, artwork, patio and big staircase to connect to the second floor really stood out as unique. The breakfast was also fantastic, great options with a buffet style plus anything you like hot from the kitchen made to order.

Beautiful historic building situated in the centre of Ubeda with very helpful staff. We also had evening meal at the hotel which was excellent. The views of the surrounding area from the historic walls, which are just a short walk from the hotel are stunning.

Breakfast and regional specialty dishes were very good, as was the enthusiasm of the waiters and staff. The location was excellent in relation to the sights of the town, but hard to get to on our first night through narrow streets. The building is a work of art in itself.
We didn't get the instructions telling us to avoid using the car's satnav on first arriving. Not the Parador's fault: they did send it. But we did have hair-raising journey up narrow alleys to get there, and we were not clear about parking arrangements.
