The location was really good - we got one facing the main town square. The communication with the hotel was great so getting in and finding the room was easy, and the room with nice and spacious, with a large bathroom. Breakfast was nice, with a selection of basic things and with very kind staff at hand to help with any requests such as heating milk.
The bedside lamps were quite strong and general, not discreet or down facing/controlable. Shower head was slightly blocked and small, which was a shame as the shower unit was nice & large.

The hotel is centrally situated on the Plaza Grande with several bars and restaurants almost at the door and most of the main sights of Zafra within easy walking distance. Our room was at the back overlooking a pedestrianised cul-de-sac and the window gave views across the roofs to the distant hills. There was a decent choice of food at breakfast. Mauricio tried hard to solve our problem with the wi-fi in room 208 but to no avail. While there seemed to be a decent signal, none of our four pieces of Apple equipment could connect so we had to use our iPhones as mobile hotspots.
In Spanish style, there were no pillows, just one long bolster which was too thick for our liking and of poor quality. The wall to the adjoining room was very thin and we did not appreciate listening to our neighbour's music and ablutions at just after four am when we would have preferred to be sleeping.

Loved the location in the Plaza Grande and next to Plaza Chica. The decor was unique. Perfect place if you don't have a car in high season; in low season we were lucky to find a parking spot nearby. Good price. Online check in meant we didn't talk to a person. Breakfast was fine. Glad we could park in the plaza to unload the car. System for getting in worked well.
Bed was a bit short; heat didn't work but the plug in fan heater did. The government registration system wouldn't let me check in properly

The building itself is charming and the room was large and quirky. The shower was great. The bed was very comfortable. There was a lift up to our room. The breakfast was ok, continental style with a freshly made coffee for each guest.🙂Loved the conservatory where the breakfast was served, full of plants and unusual artefacts. Also really liked the modern phone chargers next to the bed.
Our reception was a little cool and we were given no information, just a key but the host redeemed himself the next day by going the extra mile to help us out by storing our luggage. I think he was just busy, he seemed to be running things singlehandedly and there were works going on in the lobby as well as it being a public holiday the day we left.

Great location in the lively, main square. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Good, hot shower. Lovely breakfast room. Helpful and very helpful pleasant manager. A very Spanish hotel. Traditional with lots of character. Excellent value.
We were surprised to find out we couldn’t park in the square. This is a weekend thing. Midweek visitors will have no parking problem. As it was the manager gave us very clear directions about where to park, one minute from the hotel so not a big deal but better to know in advance.

The hotel is right in the main square with restaurants all around - super! The owner was very friendly. I had great trouble understanding the parking meter in the square - it was one of those with keypads and inputs required (I thought). The owner accompanied me to the machine and sorted and paid for my overnight stay. He would not accept my money! So friendly.
I speak a little Spanish but there was a difficulty understanding the owner when we checked in. He gave us two keys and pointed to the front door area with one key and to the upstairs area with the other. I though one key must be to gain access to the hotel and one for the room. I only twigged the next day that he was offering us a choice of rooms, one at the front and one at the back! So really apart from the parking problem and the language difficulty I have little to complain about. I think hotel safety instructions should be in English as well as Spanish.

nice welcome at reception, we had a room overlooking the plaza, it is dog friendly, dog was allowed into the breakfast area, excellent value for money. breakfast was good enough. it’s s great location on the plaza and well worth a stay.
noisy outside when the bars below were packing up and taking tables and chairs in at 11.00 pm. this was January so i would assume in summer when the bars close at 2.00 am you will get the noise then. best ask for a room at the rear of the hotel if you are a light sleeper.

Great location and a good sized room. Breakfast was nice but a large party had taken most of the food and we had to ask to get more. Nice decor and comfortable.
It's all just a bit impersonal. What a lovely place - the entry code just makes it feel a bit soulless. Even the lady at breakfast didn't even say hello.

It’s an interesting old building on a beautiful square in Zafra. Our room and bathroom were comfortable and the WiFi was good. Breakfast was good and the staff were very pleasant. On our last morning there was a local power cut and they arranged for us to have breakfast at a nearby cafe which had power.
There was nothing to dislike about the hotel.
