This location is ideal: easy access to Ella’s rock through peaceful farmland, with a gorgeous train wending quietly through the lush valley. Best of all panoramic views in two directions from the dining room. And the best and most generous breakfast in Sri Lanka. A bargain and beautiful. Very sweet staff too.

This is not a slick impersonal resort; it is a small and humble place. Don’t expect 5* facilities. Do relish the proximity to Ella’s attractions but balanced out by the peace, away from the madness and constant noise of the town. If they could improve the hot water flow then it would be perfect.

I loved our stay here!! The rooms are high up and they have interconnected sliding doors - the wind sweeps through and it is just dreamy. The views are outstanding. Wifi excellent! Food was so fabulous - authentic and large portions. Special mention to the chef who makes the most amazing Sri Lankan potato curry - he has inspired me to perfect it when I get home. We also tried many varieties of Roti. The price is excellent and we will definitely be back!! There is a local tuk tuk driver named Lakshan who comes to pick you up and takes you to some lovely spots in the area - Zipline, Little Adam’s peak and the Arch bridge. The price for his 3.5 hours tour was less than I was willing to pay so I happily tipped him.

The area is hilly - be prepared for this!

We liked everything of this stay. A good smell of cleanliness welcomed us into the room, which was very clean and full of comfort. The position was really nice, surrounded by the green area of Ella. From our balcony we also saw the famous train passing through the forest. The dinner and breakfast were great, made with fresh products. The staff was very nice and welcoming, they helped us during our stay and made sure that we wouldn’t miss anything. It was hard to leave and we would love to go back there.

Walking to the main central area of Ella is via a short cut thru the train tracks. Am experience one should not missed. Lovely views and quiet area. Suited for adventure walkers who doesn’t mind the uphill. Otherwise, a fast tuktuk ride can take you to the accomodation within about 10 minutes. This can also be organised with the owner should you wish. Traditional breakfast was fab ! Staff were lovely. The Pekoe trail is worth a try and can easily be accessed without a need for a walking guide.

A lovely little guest house situated in such a calm, peaceful haven. I felt like I was in a model railway! You can see the train coming into Kitgul Ella station from one side of the balcony and then you go the other side to see it curve round. Watching the birds is amazing too. Ella itself is a tourist trap with white faces outnumbering brown by a large factor. In contrast, Dream Catcher is a short trip away and it is super peaceful.

We had a fantastic stay at Ella Dream Catcher Resort, where the owner Venura picked us up from and dropped us off at our Beragala cottage. He also took care of all our transportation needs to Ella town and other attractions, which was very convenient. This allowed us to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the resort and the lively vibe of the town whenever we wanted. We just contacted him whenever we needed a ride. We also hiked Ella Rock, which was easily accessible from the hotel as it was located near the trail head. The room and the service were excellent and we couldn’t ask for more.

The owner Venura and his team are excellent hosts! He even picked us up from the station and offered us some rides in the city... The rooms are very nice and clean with a fantastic view into the green and surrounding mountains - For fans of the famous train in Sri Lanka even better, as the train track goes around the property and allows great pics! The breakfast is local style and very tasty. Venura has a big heart, takes excellent care for his guests and is always happy to help with advices, tipps or arrangements. We can strongly recommend to stay at your place!!

Really nothing!

The rooms were really comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view of the outside scenery from the balcony. It ideal for both couples and families. The food was great and the service provided exceeds the expected. The hotel is situated very close to many tourist cites such as ella gap, little Adam's peak, 9 arch bridge etc. Overall it's an excellent place worth the price.

Clean accommodation, great views of the surrounding areas. Good start point to climb Ella Rock. Staff were genuinely extremely friendly and helpful. Nice quiet location which may appeal to some, however main town and restaurants a little further away requiring a longer walk (30 minutes at good pace along railway tracks) or 10 minute tuk tuk ride (always around).

Excellent location on a hilltop overlooking the railway tracks ((several view points from room and resort) with views of Ella Rock, short walk to a nice waterfall and close to the Organic Tea Plantation. Superfriendly and knowledgeable owner going out of his way to accommodate his guests. Best food (dinner and breakfast) we had during our trip! Very clean rooms with stable hot & cold water supply, insects were not an issue. Ample parking is available, even small buses can reach the location.
