I can't recommend this hotel enough! AS a four star hotel the service and attention to detail is exceptional. breakfast was delicious and plentiful and every little detail was taken care of - petals on the table, table laid and selected for your stay, my 11 year old daughter was given pan cakes and fresh fruit and eggs were cooked to order each day. The view from the room was phenomenal with mountains and tea plantations and each villa was built slightly behind the other to ensure you weren't looking onto any one. There is a garden to walk in with a swing and a swimming pool which was cleaned early each day. Jagath the Manager was exceptionally helpful , promptly answering all questions leading up to our visit and going out of his way to make us feel welcome from the huge welcome on our arrival to organising a personalised tuc tuc driver for our planned visits in the area the next day and advising us on where to go. There's a huge amount to see and do around Ella and being able to come back to this wonderful oasis of calm was heavenly. I've never left a review after a stay before but felt compelled to after our lovely experience at Ella Planters Bungalow.

We had a wonderful stay at Ella Planters Bangalow, greeted by friendly staff and a large room. The hotel is located in a hill with a lovely view of the mountains and there is a swing hidden at the end of the property which you can ride with a panorama view. We loved the breakfast which was a combination of western and local flavors. Overall a cozy, hidden gem we were glad we discovered and would highly recommend.

The bed mattress was very hard and could have been more comfortable but it is a small point relative to our overall wonderful experience.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at with beautiful views of the mountains. You wake up to the sunrise from your bed. The electric blinds are a great feature. Although the rooms are basic and a bit dated the views are stunning. The service was excellent and the staff go over and above to ensure your stay is comfortable, the menu had a good selection of foods and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place! A great place to relax and unwind.

Fantastic few days, staff were incredibly, so happy to help with any requests. Definitely recommend. Excellent service from all the staff always went the extra mile with special touches, thank you to the two young man who served breakfast, kavindu Dilshan and his young friend 👍 who’s name I can’t remember now sorry. secluded, very clean, boutique stay with beautiful mountain and jungle views and gorgeous rooms. delicious food, great service and super efficient, friendly staff. we loved Sarath who served us so well and our manager. definitely will come back again.

nothing to dislike in particular a little bit away from the main attractions and town Centre but this was ideal for us and was a nice scenic ride to get to places.

Amazing views from room and immersion into the jungle. Comfy and clean room and top service compared to other nice hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka over past 30 days. Delicious food and cocktails. Well-maintained property. Glad we stayed 3 nights, anything shorter would have felt too short. transportation to sites and hikes easy to get.

Planters Bungalow was a wonderful place we visited as part of our honeymoon. A proper retreat from the hustle and bustle of Ella. It felt magical to wake up to hear monks chanting and see the sunrise in the middle of the jungle. Our room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The food was delicious and generous portions. The staff were exceptional and one of the best service we’ve experienced. it was one of our most memorable stays we’ve had (and excellent value for money compared to some 5 star experiences on this trip). We can’t wait to visit again!

Genuine service, especially from Siva during our breakfasts and dinners. He was kind and really made our three nights there enjoyable. We had the room up by reception and loved it! It’s not a newer room but had a huge covered balcony, great wifi, big comfortable bed, and super nice bathroom! At first we had wanted one of the newer units, but ended up being thrilled with our room. Great view too!

Add a safe to the room although there are always employees around. Nothing else - we loved our stay!

It may be too chilly to use water-pool, it depends. You will have good breakfast with opts (local or European, coffee/tea, fruits). It’s really delicious. If you’ll decide to have a lunch or dinner in bungalow’s restaurant you’ll get just your average meal with a rather small portions. It’s ok, nothing special.

This place is a bit far from Ella. The ride’ll take up to 30 mins for 1100 rupees. The service will be great, but sometimes a bit noisy. You won’t be in you own bubble, they’ll ask you personal questions. When you ‘ll meet the staff they’ll start talking with you immediately (not just say hello). When you’ll have a meal they can also start asking you about everything and repeat the same questions if the won’t have an idea what else to ask.
