Everything! At first we were a bit sceptical because we felt like the only tourists in that hotel but it turned out to be an amazing stay. The breakfast there was the best breakfast I ever had. They always made fresh pastries and fulfilled all our wishes. They even gave us there motorbikes free of charge. The general manager Mr. Thushara was always here for us and in general the entire personal was very kind and welcoming.

The bathrooms were a bit old and the shower was leaking a little bit but for us it didn’t change the amazing experience we had.

Lovely friendly, helpful staff. Who catered for our Daughter daughter’s 12th birthday perfectly. They went above and beyond for anything required even driving us to dinner. Then when we arrived at the restaurant and realised they had run out of mine beer the lovely hotel staff delivered some frost to enjoy our meal with.

A very friendly hotel, although we would have loved to have had cozy duvets on the bed instead of just sheets. However, this might just be an Australian request.

We only had one night at Royal Reach, en route from Ella to Galle with a stop off to enjoy Udawalawe Park. The hotel has a wonderful clean and inviting swimming pool and the people were so kind and gentle - nothing was too much trouble from arranging the safari and onward transport to the biggest breakfast and dinner you could imagine. There was so much food!! We were efficiently checked in and out - even though the three groups of two all booked and paid separately. The public spaces are inviting and comfortable and the bedrooms well appointed if a little tired in places - though in no way is this a complaint. For the money everything was superb. Compared to Ella you get so much more. Thank you so much everyone at Royal Reach for making us feel so welcome 🙏🙏

If I have two pieces of feedback it would be that perhaps there was too much food, and I would have preferred something tastier rather than giving us so much. Especially as clearly many of the locals live on so little. The second piece of feedback concerned the poolside washroom which while clean smelt strongly - flushing and sanitising more would be preferable. These are small gripes. I would definitely stay again and for the value offered I would give ten stars.

We stayed here for a night and were happy with this place. It’s a very good value stay. Staff were friendly and tried their best to accommodate their guests. They made me egg hoppers even though it was not on the menu. Their egg fried rice and chop suey were good. The property grows their own fruits and they always served us complimentary delicious mango, papaya, banana, pineapple, and watermelon. The breakfast is ala carte set menu, they served a lot of food, so best to tell them what you want and don’t want from the set to not waste the food. As for the room, it’s decent for the price paid. Mattress and some furniture look new, shower pressure is great, very powerful so adjust accordingly.

The pool water was very cloudy during our stay, we didn’t use. But they will turn the filter on if guests want to use it.

We had the BEST time at Royal Reach. We really were treated like royalty. The hospitality was amazing, they went above and beyond to give us an amazing and luxurious stay. We were only there for one night but we wish we could've stayed a whole week!!! Every member of staff was so friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is beautiful and the pool is fantastic. The facilities on site are great, especially the gym which we really enjoyed using. The food was so delicious and so fresh, using organic ingredients grown on site. The attention to detail of everything was amazing and the service was executed perfectly. A special thanks to the general manager Seransighege and the barman Banuka who really went out of their way to look after us and make us feel special. We could not have asked for a more wonderful stay, it really exceeded our expectations. Bohoma Istuti to everyone at the Royal Reach!!

Having to leave!!. Everything was fantastic

The restaurant's service is exceptional, wonderful, especially the employees and the manager, who are very attentive and kind.

The girl at the reception has a bad attitude, provides very poor customer service, is arrogant, and very slow in everything she does. I asked her to clean the room before we went on the safari, and when we returned, it wasn’t clean, even though there were only three of us in the hotel. It would be good to have someone more proactive and interested in their work.

The staff were amazing especially the manager of the hotel who was very kind and cooperative and accessible and helpful, highly recommended for families and I think it’s the best for anyone wants to go for udawalawe safari as they will help you arranging the jeep ,, we liked it as family, they made our day that time ( they gave us fruit from their own garden which was very delicious 😇😍🌹)

We only stayed one night, but the staff were amazing and gave the warmest welcome. The welcome drink of fresh juice was lovely. The hotel was great at meeting our requirements (allergies and vegetarians), as a result a special breakfast was made for our party and arranged for a late breakfast as we had an early morning safari. Had we known how beautiful and accommodating the hotel was, we would have stayed a couple of days. There were some works being carried out but these had little impact on our stay.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine warmth and attentiveness by the staff, especially Nihara, the front desk receptionist and Thushara, the duty manager. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, whether it was arranging early check-in for our tired child or recommending hidden gems in the nearby national park. The resort itself was a dream come true. Our spacious room had stunning views of nature, while my son was enthralled by the cool pool. We devoured delicious Sri Lankan and international cuisine at the open-air restaurant, and even joined a guided safari led by local experts, leaving us awestruck by the incredible wildlife of Udawalawa. Royal Reach exceeded our expectations in every way. It wasn't just a resort; it was an experience that created lasting memories for our family. We can't wait to return for another taste of Sri Lankan paradise!

Nothing at all

The staff were amazing, pool was lovely and clean. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a decent size and nicely designed. Safari tour they organised was very good, and the journey to the park was quick and effortless.

Food offered was quite average in quality, not the best we have eaten and there isn’t much choice around the hotel if you fancy something different, though the quantity was ridiculous - HUGE portions. The bathrooms could use some updating, and some of the furniture/upholstery in the rooms could do with a clean (sofa, cushions, bed throw etc)
