Restaurants food quality was incredibile., we enjoyed every single meal. Rooms spacious and clean. Hotel staff was very attentive.

Honestly I did not appreciate that everything was meant for Russian visitors only. Walking around the hotel and outside of it all the bilboards and posters were written in Russian directly. All the services were meant for Russian speaking visitors, even the menus...which was a bit disheatening. I felt I was in Sochi not Udawatuna - this took all the Sri Lanka vacation spirit away...

The facilities and rooms were modern and really well equipped, very grand furniture in the rooms and lobby. Loved the christmas decorations throughout the property and carols played leading up to christmas. The standard of food was impeccable.

The shower and change rooms near the outdoor pool was very badly maintained, floors were always filled puddles of water and sand and a constant stench of urine throughout the change rooms. The many pool attendants who were standing idly near the towel station could be deployed on a regular basis during the day to keep the change rooms dry and clean.

Stayed in room 720 lovely sea view and trees view. Spacious room with lots of storage, has an iron & board, hairdryer etc. Lovely bath, great shower and vanity mirror in bathroom. Big comfy bed with feather pillows and duvet. Quiet air con and a fan option if you prefer also. Big balcony, perfect for sunrise. Room service food was lovely, Sahan (IDR) was polite, attentive, professional and friendly. Madruanga in housekeeping was also very good and friendly at his job. Other staff in the hotel were also friendly and attentive. Nice buggy to take us from the car park to reception, taking our bags and welcoming us with a cool drink and cool cloth, perfect start! I would definitely stay again, as there's a lovely beach, with plenty of restaurants and cafes, music etc without having to drive or go on the main road

The tiki beach bar staff were a little inattentive and I suggest a little improvement here. Also the food isn't the best, especially considering the price.

The room was absolutely gorgeous, very spacious, as so were all the areas within the hotel. The bed and the shower so pleasant, I didn't use the bathtube, but I would have loved to do so. I loved I could have space at the gym to make yoga and to be so close to the ocean. The beach area was nice, and the staff always helped me to get a sunbed infront of the water. I loved I could eat fresh fruit form the "fruit market" and that the hotel is very close to restaurants and shops at walking distance. Staff was always so kind, I felt absolutely in paradise, I hope I can come back again soon!

The room service food was not good, I contacted the personal, and they managed to change it and make it better, they were very atentive, but I could have expected a better quality. I didn't like that just infront the hotel, the boats park and launch so it is sometimes uncomfortable to smell the gasoline, and to not be able to swim in tranquility in case they pass you by (but I guess this has nothing to do with the hotel management).

Absolutely wonderful hotel with five star facilities. All staff were the friendliest and most helpful people. Room is large and we had beautiful sunset view. Rooms are located in a different building to pool and cafes but a nice very short walk across bridge. Breakfast is extensive and good variety. Other restaurants and bars were good too and very welcoming. Located on beach and surrounded by many restaurants on beachfront and surrounding streets.

Had macaroons delivered to room on first night and therefore expected nightly treat but this was only a once off but still nice. Didn't replace toilet paper or replace drinking glasses on one occasion but rang housekeeping and they were replaced very swiftly.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner is vast menu & pretty good with all the options. The view from the room was great, actually the rooms are pretty much spacious then seen in the pictures. The complementary drinking water is unlimited free which is an amazing thing. Staff is humble & professional. WIFI is strong till the beach. Bath tub is pretty big. if you are booking this property then plan to only stay here for at least 2 days to explore and enjoy the luxury stay at this property. the property is full of elephants statue ........... this is WOW for Babies

in the beaning they didn't give us the room, the one which we booked. so we had to request for the room change which wasted our 1hr.

Huge. We had the corner room and it was big and spacious! Even with a queen bed, and extra single bed and a chaise lounge, you could have danced around the extra space. We had the sea view and a balcony. Great place to sit around early in the mornings. The hotel is near plenty of restaurants too so you have other options than hotel food. But their hotel food (ala carte) was good anyway so it shouldn’t be a problem. Drinks such as virgin pina colada, and strawberry shakes were good 😍 The beach club is where the pool is. They play nice music (beach club vibes) with a different selection of genres. They had activities such as water aerobics, kid yoga, volleyball, entertainment such as dance performers in the lobby and the reception area. They also had activities like afternoon tea. Next to the beach club was a night club which my husband went to and it was decent. We were able to entertain ourselves with some pool/billiards and ping pong! So many other activities for kids. The gym is also decent with a few essential machines. The hotel is accommodating, they were able to provide complimentary cake and some bday decor to celebrate my husband’s bday. Overall had so much to do and was at the same time such a relaxing experience

Their communication via booking.com isn’t so good. Coordinating with their staff online wasn’t the best experience. They don’t have their own pick up and drop off service from/to the airport, they will provide you with a number you can call and coordinate yourself. Hotel breakfast buffet had very limited options for those who can’t tolerate spicy food or those who prefer western food. We had our son with us, and he’s a very picky eater so he barely ate breakfast. He had bread and boiled eggs and that was it 🤣

I recently stayed at Araliya Beach Resort in Unawatuna, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The rooms were absolutely perfect—clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The resort’s facilities were also top-notch, offering everything you'd expect from a high-end beach resort. However, I did encounter a disappointing issue at the Saffron Restaurant during breakfast. While most guests seemed to be receiving attentive service, I noticed a clear difference in how I was treated. I had to ask for water three times, and despite my polite requests, the staff continued to overlook my table. It felt as if they were selectively attending to certain guests, which was disheartening and left a sour note on an otherwise great stay. Hospitality should be consistent for every guest, and I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to ensure all visitors feel equally welcome and valued.

I had stayed with my wife and our 5 year old son and our stay there was simply stunning, everyone there was super halpful and smiling, location is excellent - the beach there is super clean and waves were gentle which our kid really enjoyed. Buffet breakfast was just great. I would surely recommend to fellow travelers and ones with kids.. it's a bit expensive but really worth it especially for treating kids. Their a la carte menu prices and even room service menu prices were mostly same as outside restaurants and affordable which we really like and appreciate.

I really have nothing that I didn't like there.

Location was fantastic, very clean and modern facilities - breakfast was good but below levels you could rate as great as certain food types were dry, rotti was hard etc. and too many cakes that crowded out possibility of having variety. Also, the high number of wood-carved elephants took away from the beauty of the hotel rather than enhance it - firstly the waste of forested timber is quite sad to see, and secondly the decorative element is robbed when you have these at each turn and 360 degrees. Overall, however, a very good hotel, friendly staff and nice ambience.
