Hotel is a bit old but I like the old charm. Updated bathrooms, although shower was sometimes hot, sometimes not, eg. in the morning time. Right on the beach with great view. We took 2 rooms one downstairs and one upstairs, highly recommend rooms on 3rd floor as they have amazing sea view. Downstairs rooms are very dark even during day time there is no natural light.

Food in restaurant was just OK, the servers aren't very attentive so you need to ask for stuff, eg. they only brought out 3 cups for 4 people, milk for coffee wasn't heated, etc, not much attention to detail. But overall the staff was helpful and friendly, just need to learn a bit more customer service. There is an automatic 10% service charge for the hotel price and on food as well, I'm not sure if this service charge is shared with hotel staff so I usually give some extra on top to make staff happy.

Perfect location - on the beach - with tastefully decorated, classy rooms and nice, attentive staff. Restaurant served delicious seafood. Love the antique furniture and four poster bed! Also a pretty good hot shower which is not always the case in this price range! Great value for money.

Sunloungers need updating - bit old and uncomfortable and some were broken.

When we arrived they had our booking but had given our room to some else so there was no room for us, we were taken to a sister hotel 10 kms away by taxi and we had to stay there for 2 days. We didnt like the hotel and it wasnt where we wanted to stay. 2 days later we were taken back to the Villa Hotel and enjoyed our stay there

The hotel was perfectly located on the beach and very close to the Main Street of Unawatuna for all the restaurants. The staff particularly Sunil and the head waiter (sorry didn’t get his name) were amazing nothing was too much trouble for them they looked after us from putting our towels on our sunbeds, decorating our bedroom, taking our washing to the laundry. Sunil even travelling on Christmas day an hour to Mirissa to bring and necklace I had left which I was so grateful for. The restaurant was also really good situated on the beach.

Wi-Fi could be improved

The room was wonderfully furnished with a beautiful bathroom with hot water. Amazing price due to it being Low Season. Right on the Beachfront and the restaurant food was really good. The bed was super comfortable which earns a big tick from me. Close to all manner of shops and restaurants and ATMs. Staff were wonderful and happy to assist with all my needs. Room was very clean. Tea kettle and cups and glasses supplied.

Great location near the beach and many restaurants are available in that area. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very nice and helpful. The beach can be viewed from outside the room. I wished the room was a bit more clean and to be a bit less noisy, but overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would book this hotel again in the future.

Right on the beach, friendly staff. Close to a great range of restaurants. Probably the best area in Unawatuna.

Nothing really. The facilities are basic, there was a smell coming from the shower waste but nothing overly offensive.

The place is right on the beach and it's at the main street with all the shops - but it's overall still quiet at night.

The breakfast and food was ok - nothing exceptional but nice.

Nice place. Nice people. Nice room.

Ants. Ants. Ants. Not the tiny ones, the big, flying, biting kind. The staff did provide me with an anti bug spray, but the ants still got in. Dozens of them. The room's floor was littered with their corpses.
