Beautifully kept - immaculate grounds, pool and rooms. Host Marcus very helpful and friendly.

Poor food in restaurant and massively overpriced (UK prices charged in USD). Burger pattie was cooked from frozen, wafer thin and not beef?! Limited choice and few local Sri Lankan options. We got a 500 LKR Tuk Tuk into Negombo and had seafood platter, with drinks, for same price as our basic meal at resort. Very disappointing so had once and went out for all other food. It’s such a shame as everything else at the resort is perfect. Breakfast was good considering price paid for accomodation.

Staff could not have been more helpful and flexible on many things including early check out, sorting taxis and tuk tuks and coordinating a local spa venue. Set up (honesty bar) , coffees and meals were straightforward. Pool area excellent. Air con in room worked well. It was the last 2 days stop of a 16 day island tour so location 40 mins from CBO airport but on the beach was good.

Minor picky points really that didn't detract from the stay. No card machine, so had to make a trip to the ATM , WiFi access intermittent at best (was the worst of 5 places we stayed around SL). A couple of aspects of the facilities are just starting to get a little tired now: very low water pressure on shower, loose plug socket, some rattan furniture starting to fray....so a little colonial but OK.

When you first arrive at the hotel, you will find an inconspicuous gate by the beach and for a moment you doubt whether you have arrived at the right address. But when you step inside, you will discover a beautiful garden with beautiful and comfortable accommodation. All this is underlined by the personality of the kind and reliable owner Markus, who takes care of his clients together with the smiling staff. The accommodation is located practically right on the sandy beach with a minimum of tourists.

The hospitality is super. Owner is a super friendly German man and he is every day there to support. The stay was really nice including the breakfast and also option to be part of the dinner set if you pre order. The rooms are nice and big and the pool is super nice. This place make you feel like you are in a tropical garden.

The main beach is little trashy form ocean and we have big waves when we stayed there

Location and a resort in calm and nice are. There is a swimming pool, self service for soft drinks (additional cost). Food provided (breakfast included, dinner, set menu ordered on a day) was fair size and enough of everything. Overall, it's a really great place. Host Mark is always there if you need something

Not a complaint, only a thought that kettle in a room would be a great addition to all

A very pleasant place to relax at the end of an active trip in Sri Lanka. Marcus and his wife are very attentive and welcoming hosts. We really appreciate how they managed to transform this place into a friendly little paradise. The family cottage is spacious, with two bathrooms. The garden is spectacular and very well maintained. Across the road is a long and wild beach. Love it.

I would recommend adding some local recipes to the menu

Puetz travel beach resort is a beautiful resort with a relaxed atmosphere. Rooms with enough privancy, beautiful garden and swimming pool. Dinners very fair priced.and pretty complete. Management is vey involved

Wifi was not working always well, but owner tried ti fix the issue asap. Shower water pressure and heat could be better.

The hotel is situated in a calm location and is very close to the beach. The room we had was very big and clean. The pool is really nice, our kid loved it. She also liked feeding Egbert the turtle! It was an excellent and relaxing (but too short😊) stay to end our trip through Sri Lanka. Thank you Markus for your hospitality and for being such a great host. You made use feel very welcome and you were very helpful.

Delightful resort with friendly staff. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Beautifully landscaped gardens with interesting flora and fauna. Host helped organise trips and transfer and answered any queries we had. We stayed for a few nights at the end of the holiday and was great location for transfer to airport and left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

The nice big clean pool, the food, the spacious bungalows, the fresh beers and the very courtous owner Markus. All world star in a friendly, family atmosphere!! Beds are comfy, Ac work fine The gardens are perfectly manicured
