Location is fantastic on the lake in Abisko. We were in a Chalet with a boiler for hot water. The building is a bit old but in very good conditions, you can see they make great maintenance. The staff is lovely and available, ready to help.
The price is quite good even though there are only a few hotels and chalet available in Abisko. The price doesn't include the extra price for bedsheet (20 euro per each person) and the cleaning cost (150€ per chalet). If you don't pay the cleaning you can do them yourself as we did. In my opinion these services are high priced and should be included in the price of booking. The overall stay was very good, I think next time I'll be back here at this lodge, but I don't like these little details.

Everything! The staff was so welcoming upon arrival, my room was very comfortable with an excellent shower and comfy beds. Plenty of nooks and space in the lodge area to settle in for a coffee with a book. It is in the heart of Abisko and hiking trails right from the doorstep. You could take an Aurora Chase or just walk out the back door to see the Lights. Fantastic place to which I will return.

We liked our stay! The cabin was clean and comfortable, with particularly comfortable beds. It was also roomy for five people (counting an infant). The heating was pleasant, and the shower/water was great. We spent a lot of time in the cabin, including cooking our own food, and enjoyed doing so. We also checked out the hotel's bistro. There's a fun feeling of community too when everyone exits their cabins at the same time to check out the northern lights. It was also an easy pickup spot for excursions. To get there, we drove, and we were happy we did so for the purposes of shopping, etc., but the train also stops nearby. Would recommend!
The price was good, so we won't complain too much, but we would've appreciated just a bit more included supplies. One roll of toilet paper wasn't enough for four adults, for instance.

Location Obviously, the National Park and Aurora Sky Station is right on your doorstep and it is a short walk from the train station. There is a well-marked, easy trail to the nearby village of Abisko Ostra taking around 30 mins. Here you will find a supermarket and a few other facilities. Accommodation We stayed in cottage 201, next to the hostel and overlooking lake Torneträsk. It was comfortable and clean, but rather functional. Fairly well-equipped kitchen and nice bathroom. I think because we were close to the main building the WI-FI worked well. Service and Facilities Great communication beforehand and answered my queries quickly. Reception was friendly and professional and spoke exceptional English. Lots of useful info on the area (maps, weather forecasts, details on activities and the ability to book them on site). There’s a small shop renting equipment and a small selection of groceries (fresh milk, bread and some vegetables plus tinned and frozen goods). On site restaurant and a nice communal kitchen which we used whilst waiting for our cottage to become available.
The check-in time seems rather late. You have to clean the cottage before checking out. As this is the case, I wonder why you can’t check in earlier than 3pm as most of the preparation has been done. An earlier check in would be beneficial for those arriving by train at about 11 am.

The location is perfect for seeing northern lights! You only have to walk a few meters from the hotel to be able to see the sky! There's also trails to viewpoints and the lake nearby if you want to go further. The breakfast is also great and theres a small store on site that you can buy food. There's also a kitchen in the hostel next door that you can use . Theres plenty of comfortable common areas around the hotel to hangout in too
Public transit to Abisko is hard to get, especially in the off season. I would definitely build in some buffer time just in case. The train breaks down frequently in the area, and buses only run during peak summer and winter seasons. The "shared taxi" option also cost about $100 per person to get from Abisko to Kiruna airport so be prepared for limited transit if you dont have your own car

Excellent location for walks and access to the lake. Situated just opposite the train station, with buses passing along the main road in front, making it very accessible. The room was much more spacious than I had anticipated. It was bright, and the lighting was good. The bed and pillow were incredibly comfortable. The heater was in good working order, though we didn’t need it much. The communal areas – kitchen, toilets, and showers – were clean. The kitchen was well-organised and had a sufficient number of utensils and cooking pots. Spending time in the hotel reception area and the restaurant’s seating area was an added bonus.
Accomadation and the restaurant could be more affordable. Also I would not prefer to pay for beddings and towels extra.

We picked this place specifically for the location and it was perfect for that. Great jump off point for hiking trails, Aurora Sky Station and other winter activities in the area. The parking lot was fairly close to the reception building but we still had to wheel our suitcase in the snow. We had a room with the attached bathroom and it was as expected. Good closet storage/hooks and dark shades! The breakfast was sufficient (not amazing). The lobby area and shared spaces were pretty packed throughout the day. I wish the fireplace and some other shared lobby areas were open/available in the evening.

We stayed in the youth hostel at the Abisko Turiststation site. There was a specific train stop after Abisko town and a short walk from the station. We booked a private quadruple room with shared bathroom and kitchen. The standard was basic but very clean. There was a well equipped and organised double kitchen with everything including plates and cutlery for self-catering. There were two restaurants with an affordable flat fee for the breakfast and lunch buffets along with a more expensive set dinner menu along with a smaller menu in the Bistro. Both restaurants had both meat and vegan options. There was also a GF bread bread option.

Loved everything about our stay here! The location is great, the shop is relatively well stocked and there's a supermarket just a 2km walk away. The kitchen is spacious and the rooms as well have enough space to keep your stuff. Bathrooms, shower rooms, saunas and the cleaning supplies room were well organized too. The restaurant has great options for the breakfast and lunch buffet as well. Lots of hikes for all skill levels that start right from the turiststation. It also felt really safe at all times of the night and day.
The pots and pans may be a bit old - food sticks fairly easily but not a big deal considering the amount of people that use them.

The place was very warm and I loved they had radiator in the shower rooms as well. There are no restaurants or grocery stores near by, but STF has one restaurant and one bistro of their own. It’s not the cheapest but you can get food there. I stayed in Keron building and shared a room with 9 other people. Everyone was respectful and I even became good friends with some of them. Shared kitchen area was very nice as well. Spacious and has almost everything you need - microwaves, electric kettles, fridges, plates pans and utencils. STF also has their own activity programs which I recommend because I got to see the most amazing aurora at the Aurora Sky Station through their program.
One thing they can improve is the linen. You need to pay additionally for your linen, and I pre-booked mine but I don’t think they changed it after the previous guest used my bed because there were stains and little flakes all over the blanket which I don’t think new sets of linen would have. Same problem happened with one of my roommates too, and there were so many stuff on it that he had to shake all of them off before he could lie down. So, minus points on that part. But everything else was good. Would recommend.
