Enjoyed the time in the restaurant with great view on the lake. The food was very good. The breakfast perfect. So overall very nice stay and easy to park for electric vehicles.

Only drawback was view directly from our bedroom, really minor as we had great sleep… main purpose… but while it is nice to see the lake, some improvement directly under the windows to hide the mess of the construction may hep. Likely this was fresch, so will improve with time. The highway is close by, convenient but could limit an easy walk around the nice area.. so access, clear direction could help… still we had very good sleep, no disturbance in the rooms all facing the lake… so all good, more improvement suggestions…. a great pitch stop between Goteborg and Stockholm. Last, 😅… really minor details, could improve the ventilation in dinning room…

The main hotell building was beautiful, and the dining room with the breakfast was stunning with beautiful paintings and a beautifully decorated ceiling. The breakfast was very good and there was a beautiful view of the lake. It was right next to the old village of Rötle with the charming red houses and pretty gardens a pretty waterfall and an old mill. It was also just a few minutes with car from the pretty town of Gränna, and Brahehus slottsruin.

The building with the hotelrooms for the people with dogs were a bit old and worn down, but the rooms were large and nicely decorated.

Loved the views from the room overlooking the lake. It was dog friendly and they placed the bins close to the entrance of the section we stayed at. With bags (if you forgot) There is nothing worse than trying to find a bin after you picked up after your dog. The building and entrance way has a lot of character. Loved our stay (sadly only for 1 night) Breakfast had a nice selection of continental food and their own waffle station. There was also a really friendly gentleman at the night reception. We arrived just before midnight and he cheered us up after a long day of travelling. (Keep him)

Lovely setting with great lake views. A touch of a medieval feel about it. Free parking so ideal if driving. Just outside Granna & near Rottel waterfall. Nice dining room with small dinner menu. Fabulous sunset from dining room. Food was lovely. Lake view from bedroom, tea & coffee facilities and mini bar.

Room while comfortable, a bit tired with peeling paint on ceiling and bathroom. More expensive than other hotels on our trip.

We loved the food and the atmosphere at the restaurant Sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the view and the sunset. The room was large and clean. It had a mini fridge. The bathroom was newly remodeled, but not huge. The beds had really comfortable mattresses making for a good night's sleep. We had a great stay. The location was perfect for a visit to Gränna. The breakfast was included. It was nothing short of fantastic.

Location and fantastic views

Restaurant service are pretty bad, we booked the table and ordered the dinner, it takes almost an hour to get the main dishes, everyone else arrives late than us got third dishes earlier than us which make us upset.

Our third time in Gränna and our first time to sleep at Gyllene Uttern. The location is just fantastic. Easy to reach, easy and safe to park and with a stunning view on Lake Vättern and the Island of Visingsö (which we finally -third time's a charm- enjoyed by ferry: very worthwile!). We spent 3 nights in the Andrée annex to the castle building. It is named after the Arctic Explorer, Ing. S A Andrée. We dined in the main building (castle) and enjoyed the freshly made meals with local delicacies and local produce. The breakfast is just amazing and so complete. Too much choice :-) Our room (and the entire building) seemed to have just had a major refurbishment. Everything was brand new and luxurious. The size of the room was rather large and the bathroom was very well equipped. Even though the building is rather large in size, everything has a cozy, warm and very personal feeling. A great asset of this place is the staff. They were super welcoming and friendly throughout our stay and we had the feeling not any question or request would be one too many. It shows they take pride in making their guests feel at home and enjoy their stay in every way possible. We will definitely return for a 4th time in Gränna :-)

Amazing view, absolutely awesome location and castle experience! Note: if you want a castle experience, make sure you are booking the right room. It is not clear here on Booking. Our room was in a nearby house, we found it out at Check in. However due to super helpful and amazing staff we got upgraded to a castle room!

Super poor and not tasty breakfast, especially for a 4 star hotel. Beds are too soft, unfortunately.

Beautiful location, high above the lake with amazing views. Our room (123) was beautiful with a parapet balcony. The food was good.

The staff in the restaurant were a bit grumpy and there wasn’t much effort at ambience. Food was fine though. Stairs to bedroom and no help with luggage. Older guests take note.

An overnight stop on our holiday! We had 2 rooms booked for our family, both in the lodges but had amazing views of the lake! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, a fantastic buffet with a huge range of food on offer, and the setting was so lovely again eating breakfast overlooking the lake. Lots of parking, and easy access to the local town meant for a lovely stay.
