The property was very good for a transit hotel, plenty of space . The location (for us), wasn’t good, however, but that’s not a fault of the hotel. We were in Kalmar to support our son in the IRONMAN, and without a car, it was too far out.

Good selection for breakfast. Close to bus stop which takes you into town literally 10 mins down the road. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

I booked this hotel mainly for Ironman Kalmar where all hotels closest to the venue where fully booked and if available would cost a fortune and Scandic Kalmar was the available option. I brought my entire family (wife + 2 kids) and adding the bike case as well, the room was not that spacious. Location wise, the hotel is 3-4km away from the Ironman race village but can easily reach by bus. Bus stop is just a few meters away from the hotel. There is a 24x7 convenience store next to it so you can easily buy stuff as and when needed even for odd hours. Buffet breakfast is very typical so I wouldn't highly rate it, it was the same type of menus during our 6 days stay at this hotel. Staff are welcoming and very helpful whenever we asked for directions.

Room cleaning is not done everyday as what we have thought. We left in the morning and when we came back it was not made by the housekeeping team. We just learnt that we need to book in advance (a day before) if we want our room to be cleaned.

If I'm every unsure of which hotel to pick or I don't find any particularly good options, I definitely go for Scandic. Scandic is not "very cheap" but you definitely get good value for the money. Breakfast is spot on as always, rooms are clean, beds comfortable. They're just an overall nice experience.

There's a Tesla supercharger right next to the hotel and 1 more charging station with 3 different cables, so some more charging stations other than Tesla's supercharger would be nice. This was not an issue as I had a hybrid car but for someone who has a fully electric car that's not a Tesla it could become an issue.

The friendliest dog friendly hotel ever! We received a doggie welcome package which included bowls, treats, dog towels and sheets. The room was clean and nice and there was a nice large yard to walk the fur balls. There was a pool, sauna, tennis courts and entertainment rooms. Definitely staying there again!

Nothing comes to mind

The hotel was very well equipped and clean. We booked Scandic because it is pet friendly and the staff were so kind to our big dog - even giving her a little gift bag for her stay.

Great price vs value. Big Kudos to organizing an early breakfast (4 AM) for all guests who arrived for the Ironman event!

Location was the priority. I'm from Ireland and had just hired a car so was getting used to driving on the right. I wanted break my journey from Malmo to Gotland in Kalmar but didn't want to drive into the city so the location of your hotel just off the motorway was ideal. I arrived late and left at 11 am. I enjoyed an evening meal there and the breakfast the next morning was most satisfactory.
