The lodge was in a fantastic location. Our room faced beautiful Lake Siljan and was less than a one-minute walk to the breakfast hall. The on-site café was convenient and stayed open until 10 PM. The lodge is also just a two-minute walk from a petrol station, which is ideal for those on a road trip. There’s a small gift shop connected to the reception area, perfect for souvenirs. Breakfast included halal-friendly and vegetarian options, and the host kindly asked about our dietary preferences in advance, which we really appreciated. The lodge is close to several attractions such as Dössberget, Långbryggan, Styggforsen, and Rättvik Church. It’s also only about 40 minutes from Mora, where you can stop for photos at Vasaloppet’s start and finish points, visit the Zorn Museum, and explore the charming town.

One thing to note is that bedding and towels are not included in the room rate and need to be rented separately. While this may be a common practice for local guests, it was a bit unexpected for us as international travellers. That said, it didn’t significantly affect our overall enjoyable stay.

200SEK surcharge for bringing a dog. If you advertise your place as pet friendly, you should be more transparent about you charging extra for the privilege. The sound proofing isn’t great. Our neighbors left in the middle of the night for Vasaloppet, they were very considerate and not intentionally noisy… but the walls really were too thin to not get woken up by neighbors doing normal things.

Great place, great location, loved the little hjemsjolds there too. Comfy beds. Nice bathroom in cottage.

Breakfast was disappointing with very limited options and no variety. We were expecting to see a some more extensive menu.

It is a wonderful place to stay , there is a car parking next to the cabin/cottage. Feels like home stay with spacious room area, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and toilet. I was bit worried about the heaters as it was mid winter, but we did not face problems, it was quite comfortable. Especially with kids its a perfect place to stay. I really wish i could have stayed for a long time. Next time for sure will do.

Everything is good. I wouldn't say I did not like it rather I would say it can be better , first I found the hot water supply was for a little short time, breakfast was very basic, but its ok I guess.

The weather was so warm that we ate our 'cold cuts' dinner (absolutely delicious and superb value for money) and breakfast outdoors: the first on the lawn with view over the lake, the second on the deck by the front entrance door.

Clean, comfortable stay a short car-ride away from Rättvik Centre. Good breakfast. Exceptionally good value for the price. We stayed here to do the “vasaloppet 30 / kortvasan” and it was very easy to drive to Mora and take a bus from there to the start in Oxberg. Staff was flexible to provide us with an easy breakfast.
