The room was clean, and the bathtub was fantastic. They provide free flow of snacks, instant noodles, and soft drinks. However, please don't be greedy and take only what you need. The hotel will replenish every day. This hotel is environmentally friendly, they do not provide toothbrush comb etc... however you can purchase it at their counter. They only provide you with clean towels. If you need your room makeup and change your towels, you need to pay for it. They have a beautiful resting area in the lobby. It is walking distance to the Dongdamen night market.

Everything was great and well-managed, the receptionist, cafe-like lobby where guests are free to enjoy snacks and drinks, rooms are clean and new to how well the person-in-charge and staff handles hotel guests during Hualien earthquake. Strong earthquake strike Hualien on 3rd April 2024 before we checked-out. The person-in-charge rushed to the hotel to calm and assist guests who were mainly foreigners and terrified. They shown how kindhearted Taiwanese take care of their guests like own family and friends. Felt sorry for the state of messy rooms and lobby due to earthquake. But Hualien people are tough! If I come back, will stay here again!

Reception staff are rally friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our family room is a great size with 2 double beds, lounge area, TV and full size fridge. Bathroom is spacious with a powerful, hot double shower. Lovely large lounge area off reception with free coffee, cold drinks, noodles, biscuits and sweets which is really appreciated as long term travellers! Highly recommended

Value for money. Great location with walking distance to Dongdamen night market. Rooms were spacious Surprised us was the great thought of the owner of the free flow of snacks and drinks provided at a nicely designed area and for the guest to rest. Free postcards and post service for the guests. Umbrella is available during rainy day. Staffs were super friendly and always with their sweet smiles. Tooth brush/paste, slippers etc are not provided but you may purchase at lobby if you need it.

Sound proof was not very good but it did not affect us at all.

This is the best place we’ve ever stayed in for the price. It is so comfortable, great showers and aircon and strong WIFI. If that’s not enough, they even have a FREE postcard service, open snack bar and lots of comfortable seats with a projector to watch movies. The staff is extremely friendly, resourceful and helpful, and it was such a good experience staying here. This place is also at a very good location, it’s just a 5min walk to Dongdamen Market and lots of nice eateries around 👍🏻

There is little charging points in the rooms and will need a extension cord.

Very good stay at Roaders. The staff was very kind, forthcoming and helpful. As the Toroko Gorges were closed due to earthquake, we enjoyed the benefit of using the free bikes of the hotel to get us around and ride along the coast. Rooms were clean and hotel provides a lot of amenities (food, drinks) for free. The location is also great to easily access the night market and walking distance from the train station. Very good value for money.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They had an entertainment room with a microwave and hot water and lots of snacks. It is a great location, pretty close to the center of activity. There were things I needed in my room - first night wifi was broken - they sent two guys to fix it, needed more coat hangers - came right up, needed extra outlets - they brought an extension cord.

The hotel is kind of old, lacks outlets and sufficient lighting near bed and in bathroom . I think the staff did a masterful job of making up for the aging facilities, though.

The hotel staff did not know that Taroko Gorge was still closed one year after the earthquake. So we went there by train/bus, one hour ride, only to find out that it was absolutely not worth to go. Study well before going.

Staff was excellent, lobby and free snacks were fantastic, great location. Price/quality was great!

Rooms were a bit outdated, personally I would have gotten rid of the old carpet before placing the vinyl for hygienic reasons. In one room the smell of sewage was bad, we got another room and that one was smell free and good.

Perfectly located, very kind and friendly staff, simple but comfortable rooms, lobby and seating area is nice and welcoming.

I’m allergic to feathers and an alternative pillow option was not available so I slept very poorly on a stack of bath towels all nights of my stay 👎
