Excellent location close to Hualien city centre and the large night food market. Room was large and air conditioning worked well. Plenty of plug sockets etc which was very useful. Didn't meet any of the staff but communication via WhatsApp was straightforward and was able to pay in cash despite it being self checkin. Free bottled and filtered water and instant noodles available in the lobby.

Bed was a mattress on the floor, so was a little bit hard but not too uncomfortable. Bathroom didn't really dry off after having a shower in the morning. Just to be aware there is no lift, not a problem for us but just to be aware of if you don't like stairs.

The location is good, near Dongdamen Night Market, the sea and Taroko National Park. It was possible to check in at 11:20 pm. The shower is hot and strong. Free water and noodles (i think with meat, but tasty). It's possible to use the common fridge in the lobby. Very reasonable price.

The bed is sooo hard, it hurt my back and my husband's. Our kid said she slept great though 😅. It was kind of cold in the house. I think we took very small ants from there which we only saw in the next hotel. The room was really spartan (as seen on the pictures online), the first day it felt a little jailish, but we got used to it 😅.

The place is actually shown/known in English as 'Bed and Beer'. Very well organized. Pleasant lobby with soft music. No meals provided, but bottled water and dehydrated noodles available free of charge in the lobby. Fridge available in the lobby. Very quiet (located in a side street). The place is a bit far from the train station - 2.5 km = 45' on foot through busy streets. Buses at train station a bit difficult to identify. Taxis available. Absence of human being in lobby to welcome guest et show the room. But everything explained in writing on table or the wall, both in Chinese and in English. Mattress on the floor. A bit uncomfortable for older guests. No table and/or chair. Sitting only on floor or bed. General safety guidelines and other instructions on the wall only in Chinese.

The location was fantastic being so close to the night markets and lots of food places. Bed and pillows were comfortable, aircon was good, and the hot water was instant. Having a private bathroom for this price was awesome, although the tiles/grout could be cleaner. I would stay here again.

Something attached to the building did make a humming noise through the night that I could hear in my room. Either an aircon, water heater, generator or something. I found it disruptive the first night, but didn't bother me after that as I got used to it. The rooms weren't advertised as sound proof so I can't really complain.

Really great price for a private room with a private bathroom. Good location. It’s a 30 min walk to train station but super close to the night market and other restaurants. The lobby area had free instant noodles and filtered water a mini fridge. Room was spacious. Manager was very nice and let me stay an extra night in the same room for a discounted price due to the typhoon.

No elevator so just something to be aware of.

This is a great place to stay in a few days visiting Hualien city. Even it's not close to the bus/train station but the night market is the next to. The neighbourhood foods are also great. The price affordable in the holiday, with the double-bed room, free drinking water, coffee, noodles, post cards, etc. there.

I cannot turn off the air conditioner, even it's cold season, but the air conditioner keep it as 22-23 degree. Sometimes noisy from toilet water usage from another room woke me up at midnight...

Very thankful that the building was earthquake compliant. There was a 4.7 to 5.0 earthquake but the building was able to withstand it. That's priceless. Close to ocean and market. Good value, free water, clean bed and towels. Fan and AC. Windows for ventilation

Very basic and walls and fixtures could use deep cleaning. Not idea for handicap or immobile as bed and chairs are to the ground.

Super love the self service concept. Comfy room and quite spacious. Staff service was top tier and always responsive in WhatsApp. Even gave free flow water and cup noodles. Super close to the Dongdamen Night Market. Like only 5 minutes away on foot :)

There is no lift as mentioned in their post. Super steep and high steps and the lowest possible floor is 3rd floor. Thank goodness for being able to obtain the lowest floor otherwise our heavy and many baggages would have been troublesome.

Great value, convenient location, spacious, free water and noodles, seating area. Surprisingly quiet considering the area! AC works great.

The bed was really hard. I know this is the norm in taiwan but I have been traveling around here for a month now and this was the most uncomfortable, I slept on the pillows. Also no elevator (I was on 4th floor). Not a big deal for me but might be for some.
