Perfect location of course, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Interesting building, even if you are not staying in the historical building, you can visit and see the parts of it. The rooms can be spacious, cleaned nicely, and are comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffet is genuinely excellent, probably the best options I've had in Taiwan.

You're clearly paying for convenience, so yes it feels a bit overpriced but not too bad. Most of the public areas are well-maintained and clean, but some are definitely run down (such as the roof area near the 1950s cafe, or the bottom floor of the historic building). The soundproofing is pretty non-existent, and our room had these huge red lights (smoke detectors I believe). This makes sleeping especially difficult for an attraction built around waking up particulary early to see the sunrise.

Location was great, easy to get around the forest without having to take the train. The hotel has arranged shuttle to bring you to the Alishan train station to catch the sunrise train. There is shuttle waiting to pick you up and send you back to the hotel after you finished watching the sunrise (just in time for breakfast). The departure timing is different every day hence you will need to check the timing for the next day at 5pm the same day at the reception area. Room is huge and comfortable. The room has a bath tub with a great view. There is complimentary snacks and drinks by the hotel, which is a pleasant surprise. There is a roof top area where you can view sunset. We were unfortunately not able to catch the sunset due to the clouds. Breakfast and dinner is inclusive. The selection for both breakfast and dinner is huge. There is shuttle bus to drop us off at the Alishan Bus Station (in front of the Alishan National Forest Entrance) where we board our bus down back to Chiayi. Will definitely choose to stay here again if we visit Alishan in the future. Note: As first timers, it took us a while to figure out where to board the shuttle bus to the hotel. We had to ask around to find out where is the shuttle bus stop. If you arrive by the Alishan train, you will require to exit the station and down the flight of stairs to the carpark. Facing the visitor centre, the shuttle bus stop is on your right. There is a time table of when the shuttle bus will come.

Cultural and historical preservation. Clean hotel and rooms, incredible food, friendly staff. Old world 6th floor front desk of historical building nice. Easy Access to walking paths and train. High quality experience. 2nd time here and won’t be last.

Aside from lounge bench, historical rooms seem lacking decor, vibe, and space compared to modern rooms. Kicked my toe hard while going into bathroom. Didn’t nice the raised floor. Not sure if there was a sign but maybe some kind of padding or larger sign might help. Smoking right outside entrance to historical rooms. Cannot go in without walking through smoke smell.

Can't beat the location and the views from the rooftop of the hotel. It was close to major trailheads and easy to get around via their hotel shuttle.

Excellent! The hotel is situated in a prime area, close to major attractions and walking trails . The room was spacious and well-maintained. The bathroom was clean with good-quality toiletries. The breakfast and dinner buffet had a great variety, with both local and international options. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Special shoutout to the front desk for their quick check-in/check-out process and accommodating our requests. A fantastic stay overall! Would definitely recommend Alisha Hotel and look forward to staying here again.

very good location. easy access to two major walking trails. very good view, both from room or viewing platform.

two small light source in room that i cannot find a way to turn them off. one is the fire alarm red light, one is the tv box green light, as both are within view when lying on bed, it can affect sleep if you are a light sleeper. sound proofing also not that great. so you will hear a lot of noise around 4am to 5.30am, when people were preparing to go for sunrise.

We were upgraded to bigger room size in the modern building, which is exceptional experience. And we like the warm welcome and helpful service by the staffs in lobby. The room heater was just perfectly work in this cold weather, and we were relieve to have a hot bath after long hours of hike. I would recommend to stay in Alishan Hotel again as it is still the best one in Alishan Recreation Park.

The Wifi did not work well in the room. Balcony is mouldy but the scenic view is perfect for photos. Buffet styled breakfast and dinner even with a lot of variety but the taste is fair only.

Location was good with easy access to all the attractions, staff Jeff was good and helpful at reception, buffet dinner and breakfast were OK, shuttle bus service staff was very helpful and courteous

Luggage service staff terrible, need to be reminded we had 3 pieces a few times, waved me over to ask me whether I wanted them to bring the bags to our room; reception staff generally no smile; we stayed at the Premier Suite, AC has to be turned off because of the noice and inability to bring the room temperature down below 20 degrees; balcony quite run down with banging insect screen door

Shuttle bus goes to train station/bus interchange, which is convenient. Excellent location. Staff are nice and helpful. Can go to rooftop to watch the sunset. Buffet dinner and brekkie are delicious, yet slightly underwhelming considering how much it costs for 1 night. About the room itself, really not much to say, everything is fine and lives up to a 4 star.

Complementary drinks and snacks aren’t really necessary for me, however it’s still covered in the room charge I believe (along with this many other services which I don’t really make use of, and you don’t have a choice to go without all these and get a cheaper price)

The beautiful location as well as the included breakfast and dinner buffets were the highlight. We loved the spacious room and the massive beds. It was also convenient to travel to the visitor center and the train station and back to the hotel using their complementary shuttle service.

Even though we stayed in the modern room, it felt old. The bathroom was not very clean–there were strands of hair on the floor when we arrived.
