June 2025
The breakfast was a mixture of Asian and European-continental style -- very delicious. It is brought in a box, so it is not taken from a buffet. It could be taken on the terrace of the hotel. In June there was only one other couple also having breakfast at the same hour. Actually one has to choose the breakfast hour the day before. From the balcony (our choice) one has a wonderful view on the narrow valley. In the basement the hotel has an Onsen (Japanese style) which can be used by the hotel guests once per day for free. So for us it was not necessary to have a particular hot spring bath in the hotel room. The staff was very helpful, in particular how to get with a limousine bus to the airport. They spoke quite well English.

We had a room with in-room hot spring tubs. I highly recommend. The location is a little far from the main drag, but we enjoyed the walk immensely. The Onsen downstairs is great. We only gave ourselves an hour and I would have like longer. Also, go to the public hot springs which are in the river just on the other side of town. We fcound this spot by accident and it was a real highlight.
We weren't sure where to go when we got off the public bus and spent more than we needed to on a cab ride from the bus terminal up the hill. If it's not too hot and your bags aren't heavy, it could be easier to walk.

The stay at Spring Spa Hotel was certainly worth spending a night in Wulai to take a break away from the busy city life in Taipei and to enjoy a relaxing private hot spring bath. The river view is also a sight to behold and the cable car up Wulai was also a highlight of the trip. The private hot spring bath is certainly a must even without going to the public spa bath. While there are certainly other luxurious hotel stay options in Wulai, Spring Spa Hotel provides an equally good onsen experience at a much more affordable price!
It was quite a distance from the old street and had limited dinner options around the hotel area (which proved even more so challenging as it was raining during my stay). The hotel provided breakfast but it was not anything too spectacular compared to the amazing food Taipei has to offer.

It is all great, spacious and clean room, two big bathtubs with spring water and a shower plus access to the great spa area opened all day and evening, I have spent my time in water relaxing. The breakfast was very nice too, trying out different meals and with some fresh fruit. I felt greatly greeted by the staff. I would definitely come back. If I have some mild cons, it would that it might be slightly noisy at night, but I guess it will be the same everywhere in Wulai. Going to the village is only a 10 minutes walk nevertheless there are no sidewalks but as every local you can walk on the side of the road and it is fine.

The hot spring, the location. The property design is very relaxing. The day time front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice.
The evening staff. There was a guy at the front desk the second day we were there. He should not be in the hospitality service. We had 2 rooms. The family room was awesome super comfortable bed and very spacious. The japanese style room is also very spacious . However the Japanese mattress is only a thicker mat/padding and not real japanese bedding, in addition the mat is very short. I am 5'2 and the mattress is shorting than that. I would not recommend.

Spring Spa is a delightful spot to stay in beautiful Wulai. Choose the rooms with your own personal spa, or one of the beautifully finished Japanese rooms - all rooms have spectacular views of the Nanxi river and rugged mountains all around. They have a men's and women's public spa which is free for guests to use, with three hot pools, a sauna, steam room and baths - clean and well used by the locals. Breakfast is included, and the soup dumplings (pic included) are an excellent way to start the day Make sure to try the local food at the Wu Lai Xiang restaurant (pic of dinner included) just up the street. My two days there were restful and included fun walks through the local Wulai old town and the cute Wulai trolley to the stunning view of the falls. Reasonably priced and staff were so attentive and friendly. I'll stay there again for sure!

the room is so spacious! the view is amazing! above all, staff there are so friendly and very helpful! my son had some puffed eye right when we were going to bed. The hotel manager arranged a taxi for us to the hospital which is 15-20 min away. then he followed us and stayed with us the entire time to help with communicating with the hospital staffs and to make sure we are ok(from 11pm to around 2 almost 3am). we are so thankful! Definitely coming back when we come to Taiwan again

Perfect for rest and relaxation. Fabulous views of the mountain and river, lovely four poster bed, balcony and spa bathroom. It was such a treat to actually have a sofa to sit on in such a spacious room. Lovely breakfasts with the choice of two dishes and the time you choose to eat. The staff were kind and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
It was problematical that there wasn't a restaurant as it was difficult to get an evening meal, so I had to subsist on breakfast and empty calories from the convenience store.

A lovely big room with bed and sofa and a balcony with a view over the river valley. The bed was very large and there was a big shower room with lots of hot water. The breakfast was very good.
The hotel is next to the spa in a not terribly attractive building - the cottage like spa section was shown on the photo. However, the interior of the main hotel is very nice, spacious and tastefully decorated so this did not matter, it was just not what we had expected. I would have liked bed side lights but we found several hotels in Taiwan did not have them so may be this is not customary. The spa was closed which we had not been told about and was disappointing.
