Bamboo is a stunning hotel with such a unique design! Its peaceful and quiet and away from the busy beaches and crowds of tourists. We were welcome by Pendo who gave us a tour and checked us in, who was super kind and friendly. We were added to a WhatsApp group for updates which is always convenient. We had a few days of very heavy rain in which the group came in really handy for updates from the staff. Despite the rain, the room was dry and comfortable and theres enough covered space throughout the property to still enjoy! I stayed in one of the Rondo garden suites and it was lovely. Theres a shared pool with beach bed swings which is super aesthetic (like every space here!). The gym and spa are inspired by nature and the 5 elements. Views from the restaurant and main pool are unreal at low and high tide. But my favourite part of the stay was definitely the food!!! Every meal was sooo delicious. I’ll definitely be back for not only another stay but for some meals in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bamboo Hotel, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The property itself is stunning, boasting well-maintained gardens, beautiful architecture, and a serene ambiance. The lobby and common areas are elegantly designed, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor pool area is a perfect spot to relax, with comfortable lounge chairs and a pristine pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip. The staff at Bamboo Hotel were incredibly attentive and friendly. From the moment I checked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The concierge team went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and offered excellent recommendations for local attractions. Housekeeping was thorough and discreet, keeping the room spotless throughout my stay. The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking. My room had a balcony overlooking the ocean, and it was a joy to wake up to such a picturesque scene every morning. The rooms at Bamboo Hotel are spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable.

The on-site restaurant served delicious meals with a focus on local ingredients and creative presentations. However, I did feel that the variety of food could have been more extensive, especially for longer stays. A bit more diversity in the menu would make dining at the hotel even better.

The fact that strangers had access to our pool side. Whilst dressing, people were walking past our room.

The customer service is extremely exceptional. I can’t emphasize this enough. These guys know how to engage and communicate effectively with their customers. The infinity pool, the food and drinks were amazing! We spent most of our time by the pool area.

The Rondo rooms (accommodation without an ocean view) were not well maintained. The pool had a lot of dead bugs. The suspended beds had not been cleaned at all. They had massive spiders and webs over them. This is unfortunate considering these rooms were actually very very nice! They simply require just as much attention as the rooms with the ocean view.

Its very special hotel, amazing contemporary architecture, nice pools. Quiet. Very nice reliable people, modern service. Ocean beautiful. Ideal place for kitesurfing fans.

Food was good, maybe the best in Zanzibar. Maybe just a little uneven, sometimes too slow - a challenge to get better :) One more thing I do not understand, why architects nowadays think that its cool to have glass sliding doors between bed and bathroom. Even longtime couples do not want to see and hear partner going to toilet.

Our stay at Bamboo Zanzibar was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by an incredibly attentive and warm staff who went above and beyond to make us feel special throughout our entire stay. The level of service was exceptional, and it truly made us feel like valued guests. The hotel itself is a stunning blend of luxury and charm, with gorgeous aesthetics that create a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Every detail, from the beautifully designed rooms to the lush surroundings, was meticulously curated, and it really enhanced the overall experience. One of the highlights was the variety of excursions offered. We had the chance to explore the island in so many exciting ways, we visited: Stone Town, Prison Island, Jozani Forest, the rock restaurant, Salaam cave and Paje Beach. There was always something fun and interesting to do, and the hotel team made sure we were well taken care of during each adventure. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Every meal was a culinary delight, with a wide range of options that catered to all tastes. Fresh local ingredients and creative dishes made each dining experience memorable. On our last night we had the BBQ experience which was one of our favourite moments of the trip- really recommend! I spent my birthday at bamboo and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. The staff kindly decorated our room and even gave us a room upgrade for a day. I’ve never felt so special! Overall, Bamboo Zanzibar exceeded our expectations in every way. The exceptional service, beautiful setting, and amazing food made it a perfect choice for a getaway. We can't wait to return!

The location of the property is a little out of the way. 1hr to Stone town and 2hrs to Nungwi but it was nice to feel a little more remote.

We had the most incredible stay at Bamboo Zanzibar, truly a slice of paradise! From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The staff were beyond amazing, always attentive, even late at night, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. The hotel itself is a dream. clean, with a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The rooms are incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with top-notch amenities that made our stay even more comfortable, just wow! A special thank you to the manager, who was so sweet and welcoming, and to Dana, who was beyond helpful. No matter what we needed, she was always there, going above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting Zanzibar, I highly recommend staying here. I can’t wait to return!

Nothing Nothing Nothing!

Bamboo is a beautiful space where there is a seamless blend between the landscape and the buildings. The attention to detail from the bamboo roof to the swimming pool that runs from restaurant to the pool area are really what set this property apart. I would go back there every weekend if I could. Not only so, but the wonderful team led by Nicole and guest relations manager Dana made sure that our stay was perfect, within short notice they managed to accommodate us with excellent service and customer care. Hats off to the Bamboo team, if there’s a place doing it right on the island Bamboo is it ❤️

Amazing small scale resort with all the amenities of a big hotel but without the hassle of mass tourism. It's a place where you can really relax, grab a cocktail, get a massage and have splendid views over tho ocean from the infinity pool. It's located in/near Jambiani, which was my favorite area in Zanzibar. So it's close to restaurants etc. However know that due to the cliffs the beach access towards the rest of jambiani's beach may be impacted at high tide. The staff is on another level. They cater to your needs like no other. Also the level of english is very high, which is rather rare :-) They were amazing in making our stay memorable and resolved any small hiccups that occured swiftly and with a smile. We had the villa which is superb, however I think we would have preferred an ocean view room as you really do sleep 'outside' and thus are maybe a bit aware of all sounds etc that occur during the night when it comes to birds, cats, etc :-) so just know that it's outside. Waking up there on the other hand was insane. The birds chirping, sunlight to wake up to and then a dip in the private pool area was amazing. For our honeymoon they also arranged a romantic beach dinner which was frankly the most romantic experience we ever had in our lives. Food is also great here. A little but more expensive than other places but when you're staying at a 5 star resort, that's what you expect.

The wifi in our villa was not so great because it was further away from the main buildings. There were some spiders/insects around/in the villa, but that makes total sense because it's actually outside and is of course 100% out of the control of the hotel itself. As the property is so amazing it of course attracts some influencers on some days so we had a small drone flying over the room that was able to look inside, however again the staff immediately shut that down as soon as I texted the property about it. So also there swift and good response by the hotel. would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful pool area and restaurant facing the sea. Fun to be able to use the kayaks for free. Comfortable bedroom (I stayed in the bungalow facing the internal badly maintained pool), much better value for money. Got a feet massage as gift, very appreciated.

- Internal pool (bungalow) has no care at all, which is a shame. - I get that this is a higher end kind of hotel, but some prices are hard to justify. - Food was a hit or miss, some dishes very disappointing. - One of the massage ladies still need to improve skills. Other one is great (also better English skills) - Reception area was not finished yet (End Dec’23). - Very confusing communication at Christmas, with wrong information being provided, “forcing us” to accept the “all you can eat full day barbecue until night” as the only option feasible (that in the end lasted only from 3-5pm). Apparently the chef changed his mind…
