Bamboo is a stunning hotel with such a unique design! Its peaceful and quiet and away from the busy beaches and crowds of tourists. We were welcome by Pendo who gave us a tour and checked us in, who was super kind and friendly. We were added to a WhatsApp group for updates which is always convenient. We had a few days of very heavy rain in which the group came in really handy for updates from the staff. Despite the rain, the room was dry and comfortable and theres enough covered space throughout the property to still enjoy! I stayed in one of the Rondo garden suites and it was lovely. Theres a shared pool with beach bed swings which is super aesthetic (like every space here!). The gym and spa are inspired by nature and the 5 elements. Views from the restaurant and main pool are unreal at low and high tide. But my favourite part of the stay was definitely the food!!! Every meal was sooo delicious. I’ll definitely be back for not only another stay but for some meals in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bamboo Hotel, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The property itself is stunning, boasting well-maintained gardens, beautiful architecture, and a serene ambiance. The lobby and common areas are elegantly designed, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor pool area is a perfect spot to relax, with comfortable lounge chairs and a pristine pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip. The staff at Bamboo Hotel were incredibly attentive and friendly. From the moment I checked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The concierge team went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and offered excellent recommendations for local attractions. Housekeeping was thorough and discreet, keeping the room spotless throughout my stay. The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking. My room had a balcony overlooking the ocean, and it was a joy to wake up to such a picturesque scene every morning. The rooms at Bamboo Hotel are spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable.

The on-site restaurant served delicious meals with a focus on local ingredients and creative presentations. However, I did feel that the variety of food could have been more extensive, especially for longer stays. A bit more diversity in the menu would make dining at the hotel even better.

Hospitality

The fact that strangers had access to our pool side. Whilst dressing, people were walking past our room.

The customer service is extremely exceptional. I can’t emphasize this enough. These guys know how to engage and communicate effectively with their customers. The infinity pool, the food and drinks were amazing! We spent most of our time by the pool area.

The Rondo rooms (accommodation without an ocean view) were not well maintained. The pool had a lot of dead bugs. The suspended beds had not been cleaned at all. They had massive spiders and webs over them. This is unfortunate considering these rooms were actually very very nice! They simply require just as much attention as the rooms with the ocean view.

Its very special hotel, amazing contemporary architecture, nice pools. Quiet. Very nice reliable people, modern service. Ocean beautiful. Ideal place for kitesurfing fans.

Food was good, maybe the best in Zanzibar. Maybe just a little uneven, sometimes too slow - a challenge to get better :) One more thing I do not understand, why architects nowadays think that its cool to have glass sliding doors between bed and bathroom. Even longtime couples do not want to see and hear partner going to toilet.

Our stay at Bamboo Zanzibar was absolutely unforgettable. The level of service was exceptional, and it truly made us feel like valued guests. Every detail, from the beautifully designed rooms to the lush surroundings, was meticulously curated, and it really enhanced the overall experience. One of the highlights was the variety of excursions offered. We had the chance to explore the island in so many exciting ways, we visited: Stone Town, Prison Island, Jozani Forest, the rock restaurant, Salaam cave and Paje Beach. There was always something fun and interesting to do, and the hotel team made sure we were well taken care of during each adventure. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Every meal was a culinary delight, with a wide range of options that catered to all tastes. Fresh local ingredients and creative dishes made each dining experience memorable. On our last night we had the BBQ experience which was one of our favourite moments of the trip- really recommend! I spent my birthday at bamboo and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. The staff kindly decorated our room and even gave us a room upgrade for a day. I’ve never felt so special! Overall, Bamboo Zanzibar exceeded our expectations in every way. The exceptional service, beautiful setting, and amazing food made it a perfect choice for a getaway. We can't wait to return!

The location of the property is a little out of the way. 1hr to Stone town and 2hrs to Nungwi but it was nice to feel a little more remote.

Nothing Nothing Nothing!

Bamboo is a beautiful space where there is a seamless blend between the landscape and the buildings. The attention to detail from the bamboo roof to the swimming pool that runs from restaurant to the pool area are really what set this property apart. I would go back there every weekend if I could. Not only so, but the wonderful team led by Nicole and guest relations manager Dana made sure that our stay was perfect, within short notice they managed to accommodate us with excellent service and customer care. Hats off to the Bamboo team, if there’s a place doing it right on the island Bamboo is it ❤️
