Staff were fantastic, friendly and so helpful, a massive credit to the hotel. Our rooms were enormous with great facilities. General hotel facilities were first class including 3 restaurants, two bars and a lovely pool. Food choice was great and the teppanyaki was a fantastic experience and amazing value. Location was brilliant, close to all the things we wanted to do in Mwanza. Beautiful views from the bars and grounds across Lake Victoria.

Long waits for food and drink at restaurants and bars although one night the hotel was inundated with unexpected guests from outside. Food was well worth waiting for but speedier service would have been preferable. However, we were in Africa where hakuna haraka is the mantra.

For location it was really nice being right on the lake but walking distance to the town. My room was on the African Queen and it was clean and comfortable and roomy. The staff was friendly and pleasant. They even remembered me from last year. When there was a storm and they lost water to the boat, they gave me a temporary room that had hot water so I could shower. I thought this was very thoughtful and customer service orientated. The food at the restaurants was good.

The morning breakfast buffet which was included, lacked freshness. It also lacked variety. It was generally the same each day, fruit which wasn't always ripe, pancakes that were small and thin and 3-4 local hot dishes which looked like they were cooked too long, along with bread, juice and coffee. Though I did appreciate being able to order freshly made eggs which were very good and again the staff were extremely nice.

The hotel's location is perfect, with scenic lake views. It's not far from the centre of town, nor the airport. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The hotel has a pool, bar, several small shops and two restaurants. The food is good and the chef makes every effort to customize dishes.

The room curtains could have a bit more fabric to close over the windows. A lot of light comes through at night which makes sleeping through difficult.

The location and views of the lake were spectacular

Service especially at the restaurant. The coordination between the waiters n the kitchen wasn’t at par. Waiters seemed not to be sure of what’s available and what wasn’t . Ones the food ordered came too it was below expectation and not eatable. They should improve on this considering how much the meals cost..

Great location, clean and well maintained daily. Professional staff and pay attention to details, go beyond extra mile to satisfy customers. Food is fresh and delicious. My husband and I had a great time at Tilapia, will recommend to others.

We did not realize the rooms have a safe locker till the last day, however the place is safe and secure.

The staff was exceptionally helpful. I requested the cook to prepare something for me for breakfast and he was too kind to not even fulfill but went extra mile to make my breakfast delicious. Room was big and bed were comfortable. Restaurant food was top. The quotes on the wall are classy and humourous. Views are amazing.

Could workout much better menu for breakfast and make it more presentable. Its a bit dull.

This place lives off its great location and amazing garden restaurants (a lot of locals also come for a nice dinner). But the hotel by now is old, borderline run down and has definitely seen better days. Air Cond anemic, mosquitos screens with holes, ant colonies upstairs and downstairs, room service uses insecticides frequently but blind to other dirt (hair all over!). None of this shows when you take pictures and the views over Lake Victoria are amazing. Sunrise over the lake from your bed is stunning!!!! Make sure you get a room overlooking the lake. Food in restaurants (especially the upstairs one overlooking the lake to one side and the pool to the other) is decent quality and good value for money, however, the hotel rooms are way overpriced. But as of mid 2023 there is not enough competition among the hotel offers in Mwanza. Next year a Marriot is supposed to open close by, but not ON THE LAKE!

The decor was very cute and appropriate. It was always clean even the public restrooms. It is right on the lake and had beautiful views. It also was close to the center of town so you could walk to markets, shops and restaurants. If you didn’t want to walk there was boda bodas or taxis right outside that were very reasonable. My room was fabulous on the African Queen. The staff were the best. Always gave you a big warm smile and if you take the time to talk to them, they remember you and will go out of their way to show their appreciation and make sure you are ok and have everything you need. They are the standard of Great Customer Service. The food was delicious. Very safe with security always around. If you haven’t already guessed, I absolutely loved it.

I hope they renovate the first floor of the African Queen to make it handicap accessible.

Very nice hotel. Located directly at Lake Victoria. Very friendly and helpful employees.

Nothing to complain about. Food was good. But looks like its not usual to order a icecream desert because the presentation was not good compared to the other food. It was almost funny to see a big portion of icecream pressed in a glass.

The staffs were wonderful and assisted us in anything we would need, making our stay unforgettable ! Furthermore, the restaurant and accommodation were high level as well. Without any doubt, this is the place were you want to be while visiting Mwanza !
