It is now our fourth stay at this hotel, and one of our stays was for around 3 months. We initially booked for a short period, but the place is exceptional. It is a family hotel. The family work so well together - it is joy to experience; and they provide a rare service and unique environment. The place is quiet, clean, private, there is a beautiful way to the beach, the main road of the village is two minutes away, and so you have the option of experiencing the local life, there are outstanding Thai restaurants nearby, as well as highly rated restaurants that offer international version of Thai food. There are excellent cafes nearby, including if you wish to work. There is also a local shop just one minute walk away, and supermarkets only around 15 minutes walk away.

The resort is great for a quiet quaint getaway. Surrounded by greens, away from the main road. Sweet little resort with very hospitable hosts. The host took me on his bike out to the street too when I wanted to go out and said I'll just walk, but he offered to take me on his scooter and dropped me on the main road. Also helped book my minivan to Krabi, which was a hotel to hotel pick/drop at a reasonable price.

The location is great for a quiet day in but since it's deep inside away from the main road, I was uncomfortable to step out at night. The host offered me a torch light to take if stepping out for dinner but as a solo female traveler I didn't want to take my chances on a remote road with no street lights.

We had an amazing stay at The Retreat. We booked for 3 nights and ended up stay ing for 6! Mr Op and kis sidekick Suka are just the nicest people - so friendly and try their best to assist you with anything you need. Yes, the hotel is 1.5km from the beach BUT there are free bicycles you can use to get to the beach (a flat ride) and scooters to hire if you want to explore further. The breakfast each morning was simple but far better than other hotels we stayed at in Phuket. Fresh fruit, a variety of pancakes or french toast, cereals, eggs, bacon etc. We had a great time and would highly recommend.

Great value resort in Khao Lak area. Central location and with easy access to Khuk Khak beach where you can see some of the finest sunsets around! They have a nice selection of bikes to explore the area and the guy who runs the place is super friendly and will give you some good tips for where to eat and what is happening in the area. There are some good restaurants within walking distance or you can jump on a bike and check out the nearby beaches (coconut beach is pretty awesome!) Next time Ill come back and stay longer!

The Retreat is a well managed, friendly, small, family-run hotel where you are made to feel at home. The owner is incredibly helpful who arranged to pick us up from the bus stop on our arrival. He also took us to the beach and fetched us as the beach is a bit of a walking distance from the hotel. However, you can use the free bicycles available or hire a scooter as we later did. The hotel is a short walking distance to a few restaurants in the area. The daily serviced rooms and bathrooms by the friendly staff are very spacious, well appointed and very clean. We were given clean towels every day. The swimming pool is crystal clear and the daily breakfasts are delicious, serving eggs, cereals, fruit and Thai food. We can highly recommend this hotel. We had a relaxing and most enjoyable time and will certainly stay here again when we visit Khao Lak again.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

3 nights, and we had to move to other property, as they were booked. We desire to be back. Large rooms, clean, modern style bathroom, teapot, fridge, toiletries, daily service. Only 12 rooms, all which open to a pool and breakfast area. Breakfast was great and slight changes daily. Mr ‘Up’ and staff were always present and helpful - free bikes, motorbike rental, advice, organized taxi transport and even delivered us to our second location for free. Community of guest were more mature, quiet and pleasant to get to know

We were so happy staying here! I would definitely recommend! The hotel manager is very helpful and friendly. It’s nice and quiet, but is still close to the beach. We rode the bicycles to the beach and walked to PAM’s restaurant nearby for dinner. Rooms are very clean and the bathroom is modern. The pool is clean and there’s chairs to lie on the sun next to the pool.

It would be great if you can buy drinks or snacks from the hotel, but there is a shop nearby a few minutes walk. Everything else was great!

Perfect stay, Great Restaurants (Pams) Near The Hotel and on The Main Street (Master Thai bbq, Sushi), free bikes, Great Host, nice pool, very clean.

The breakfast was supposed to Start at 7.30. Usually it Wasnt ready until 7.45/7.50. No Big Deal but annoying as we were awake from 6 Every Morning thanks to our daughter and had to wait to get the day started. Surrounding Area is heavily pollutedby plastic (like everywhere in Thailand)

The best hotel during my month trip in Thailand. Everything there was perfect, starting from breakfast (no problem with vegan options), no issues with WIFI, room cleaned each day. The hotel staff was also amazing, if needed anything (motorbike, helping with further transport, advices) they helped me immediately. If I would be in Khao Lak in the future I definitely book it again.
