From our early arrival to our departure everyone was very warm, friendly and welcoming. We were given the time, attention and advice we needed to make our stay very pleasant and easy. Gloria and the young man at the front desk with her arranged for an early check-in for us and John the Owner/Manager even stopped to welcome us. The entire staff including Raphael, Vanessa, Kennedy, the ladies in the cafeteria and the security team were all kind, friendly and respectful. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, a nice stay away from home.

There's a carwash outside our window, the view wasn't the greatest but it wasn't loud at night and didn't disrupt our sleep.

Staff are very nice and well trained. The whole operation is running smoothly. Restaurant provides nice food which can be served at the rooms. Just well done to everyone!!!

Mattress quality not very good. Hotel seems quite old, but they keep it in a very good condition

Bed is comfortable, shower is good, staff is ready to solve any requests. Breakfast is okay, although you can't expect wonders because it's not 5 star hotel. Location is good, close to city center and most tourist attractions around city. Hotel provides great value for money.

Wi-fi in hotel stopped working for few hours on one night, but was fixed promptly in early morning. Sink was clogged upon arrival, but was also promptly fixed on request.

Attentive staff, always friendly and available to assist. Great restaurant! Despite not always having everything on the menu available, the food was always fresh and prepared on request and very tasty! Rooms were cleaned daily, including fresh towels, and staff always made an effort to finish during the time we went for breakfast.

Sheets were clean but marked, probably due to them being hanged outside. Some new sheets would make a huge difference on the appearance. Gym is outdated.

Hotel Sojovalo has provided for all the luxury and personal care one might only desire during a short trip to Kampala. Spacious and fully equipped, spotless rooms, excellent, fast, and affordable room service, comfortable beds with enough pillows, new and fresh bedsheets. Very decent breakfast with some cooked dishes and fruit plates. Very close to Old Kampala and the major sights (Gaddafi Mosque, the Old Taxi Park and the surrounding market). All the staff were very knowledgeable about the city and they went beyond the call of duty to help me get oriented. Special thanks to those working both during the day and the night at the front office for making my stay memorable and rich in experiences.

A small swimming pool could have been an extra after a tiring day in the heat 😉 Yet, the good shower cabin (with the needed water pressure) always meant refreshment.

The wifi connection for internet is very poor we had to change 3 rooms to get a better wifi connection.also The breakfast wasn't great i think as People with kids or who don't eat regular ugandan food. The hotel should able to provide more options for breakfast like english normal breakfast and ugandan breakfast as not everyone eats ugandan food

Great place in in city center, very close to the central mosque. The staff were helpful and kind. My room was comfortable and the AC worked correctly. I strongly recommend using this hotel.

There was a small problem with my toilet flush. However, the hotel staff took it very seriously and resolved it very quickly by moving me to another room.

The hotel is quiet, comfortable and very clean. The staff were all welcoming and friendly - special mention to Gloria in Reception who was very helpful. Facilities in the room were generally very good.

Lighting in the room was poor and it was difficult to work in the room as a result. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room would have been welcomed. Proper coffee at breakfast would also be welcome without having to ask a waitress to fetch one especially from the bar - otherwise instant granules were the only option.

I cannot begin to state how comfortable I felt from check in date 10/26 to check out date 10/30. I wish I could've stayed longer as well and saw alot of the staff that helped me throughout my stay so I could continue to tip them up to the last hour of me checking out (some were not working the day I checked out). As a African American solo female frequent international traveler, I have never felt so comfortable in any other hotel as I did in Hotel Sojovalo. I had to order room service most days because unfortunately I had a slight cold and the staff was accommodating every minute of the way. The food was amazing (some foods I ate were: pancakes, eggs, avacado, tilapia, pasta, wings, beef stew, fruit, vegetables chapati and ordered a few drinks etc). I used all amenities in the hotel that was included. I worked out in the gym, and got my laundry completed by the staff. The room had a few slight issues with the key card and TV, which was addressed and fixed immediately by the staff. The location is great and easily to get transportation or for your Uber/boda boda ride to find the hotel. As an African American woman, I felt proud and genuinly happy to see the staff in all shades of color and complexions work with such professional while being helpful, kind and remaining very humbling. I truly love the staff at Hotel Sojovalo and will continue to stay there yearly when I return to Kampala. Note to anyone visiting as a foreigner: please do not come to Africa to disrespect the natives and if you can tip please do as much as you are able to. I am now a month staying in Africa for my 40th birthday and I see hardworking men and women that are sometimes taken a bit for granted due to their profession (speaking in general not necessarily about instances in the hotel). Thank you to all staff at Hotel Sojovalo for making me feel at home, comfortable, and welcoming. I will be highly recommending your hotel to my friends and family back in NY.
