The check-in and check-out experience was easy and exceeded my expectations. The young lady Mary that checked us in and the guy checked us out was very nice friendly and professional. The manager Misty was wonderful to. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. They had a variety of selections for breakfast. We didn't eat anything because we were to busy for game day weekend. This hotel is a gem in a quiet location. This is now one of my favorite places to stay in Tuscaloosa.

Guests next door was a little noisy. You could hear them talking loudly in the room and hallways. You could hear the door when it slammed.

Absolutely every staff member that I met was with a smile. I was always greeted with respect and kindness. I loved house keeping they asked if I needed anything daily while leaving me to my privacy respectfully. The lady that checked me out this morning was just one of the most polite people i'd incountered in a long time. All in all the total experience was very welcoming with a good feeling of security. I will be having another visit. My sister was also told about this hotel and she immediately got a room as well.🫡👏🙂👍

The only thing that was a little frustrating was that the vent in the bathroom didn't work. And because there was no way for me to vent out the room after a shower. It was just a bit frustrating only because I didn't have a window to open for fresh air. But the over all experience was so well that it wasn't very bothersome.

I like the area because it's in a quiet area. Its located by several gas stations so you don't have to drive far for gas. Its located right off the interstate which is a plus. It's not to far from the University and several restaurants.

I do wish turkey meat products was served on the breakfast menu. They do not serve lunch or dinner. Although, I supply my own products I do wish toothpaste or mouthwash was included with the rooms.

Beautiful location and beautifully done, it has been our favourite hotel so far (we have been road tripping through the Southern states.) We got stuck for an extra night due to the weather and the manager, Paula, was very accommodating in assisting us to stay for an extra night. She was extremely friendly and helpful and really made us feel welcome. I would strongly recommend this hotel to travellers! We have loved every minute.

This property is truly a hidden gem in Tuscaloosa. We have stayed in many properties over the years that our son has been in school at UA and they have ranged from "OK" to "never again". I cannot say enough about this location. As much as everyone says, "Stay away from Skyland Blvd.", I can honestly say that they have not stayed at the Wingate. From the minute we walked in, the staff was beyond welcoming. The hotel was decorated in adorable Halloween decor and the two managers were some of the hardest-working women I have met in my life. They made sure that the breakfast buffet was always full and hot and they let guests know to come find them or front desk staff if they needed anything. Our room was spotless and actually smelled clean as did the entire property. The beds were extra-comfortable and the room came with the biggest TV I have ever seen in a hotel! This was also one of the first hotels I have stayed in since COVID that hotel staff came in and replaced towels and toiletries without being asked-what a nice surprise! I honestly wish that someone had told us about this property when our son was a freshman, and not preparing to graduate. OWe would have stayed here every visit!

The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy. Super convenient location.

Needs some upkeep…cracked tiles, dry wall patches. etc. Housekeeping staff were super nice but inconsistent. Sometimes trash wasn’t taken out and items (coffee cups, toilet paper, etc.) were not replaced. We were there for a week, so daily use items were needed.

Was somewhat clean...staff was nice-breakfast area was clean and not bad. Within walking distance of places to eat and gas. Next to the Interstate.

Correction on distance-it is about 15 +mins from Bryant Denny Stadium-not 5 miles. Room was somewhat clean but needed a few touch ups. Towel rack in bathroom was coming off the wall. Drain in bathtub needs to be cleaned. Had 2" of standing water in a shower-not good.

We have stayed here 2 weekends in a row and the bathrooms could use more cleaning attention. Some touch up painting and 100% need to clean the AC-Vent unit...bad to breath. Also found fire/smoke Detector covered with plastic-someone prob trying to smoke to other type of smoke. Cleaning and management should catch this. I did notify and show pictures to front desk.

The location was great, close to my family who we were in town to spend Christmas with. Good parking. Our room was huge. The bed was very comfortable.

It seems like it is ready for some renovation. The carpet in the corridors looked a little old and stained. The laminate flooring in the room had some soft spots.

This was my 2nd stay as I looked forward to and experience the warm welcome from the staff, the cleanliness, the comfortable environment both visits. That breakfast was the bom dot com 😋 I much rather stay here than the Embassy downtown Tuscaloosa even. The lighted parking area was so on point also… I could look out my window to see that my car was well secured!!! 💯🙂
