Breakfast was as expected. Kind people keeping everything fine. The Hotel was good, there were some shops and restaurants nearby. I couldn't hear much noise in my room. Everything was clean.

I spent nine days staying at the hotel. I noticed that the shower wasn't working properly. So I went to the reception and explained that it was difficult to use the shower that way. The attendant kindly assured me that she would send someone from maintenance to take a look and fix it up. However, I'm not sure if someone came by, as I struggled throughout my entire stay to take a decent shower, and unfortunately, nobody updated me on whether the issue was resolved or not.

This is a new hotel property, centrally located to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, fast-food eateries and easy access to the 405 and 605. Take a stroll down Downey Avenue, with their outdoor eateries, shopping and on Saturday, the Farmer's Market is a great way to start the morning with local businesses (whom we love to support). If you are a love of Porto's as we are, it's a quick drive or if you want to take a morning walk, less than 2 miles! The property is well maintained, plenty of parking and I love the fitness center located on the 2nd floor and with plenty of natural light from the windows, with a view of their outdoor patio and pool area. The breakfast is nice; plenty of options for even the pickiest of eater! The staff are friendly, professional and will go out of their way to assist! This is our go to hotel whenever we are in Downey!

There is nothing negative about this property! The entire stay is wonderful!

All the restaurants, deliveries and shops around - may be the most convenient location I've ever stayed at; comfortable rooms and beds; convenient parking; quiet all day and night, which is worth noting, as most new Marriotts are very noisy with no attention to noise insulation at all.

At this price, I'd expect decent kitchenette with cups, forks, etc., not just a microwave, basic coffee maker and plastic cups. Needed to ask to make up the room.

it was my birthday and mentioned it to the staff. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and even waived a few things I received for free. They were cordial and professional, specifically Livy. Livy made me feel welcomed and because of that I will continue to book rooms there. Even in the morning when checking out she asked how my birthday went. I told her that's another conversation for another day, lol! Point is I usually book rooms down the street at another luxury hotel but because of the way I was treated Springhill Suites will continue to get my business!

I wish the bar area was more vibrant. There were only two people there. It would have been nice to have more people to be social with.

It was clean. The beds were super comfortable. When I go to host and stay, it’s all about the bed when you got the right bed it makes for the perfect day. Thank you.

That it was tucked in the back and only that the Downey PD patrols pretty darn well at night time so I was concerned about my property great location just a great place to stay if you’re in that area compared to all the other hotels, even the embassy suites by far Hills got them beat and that used to be my go to place

- newly built, so everything looks nice and fresh - quiet (there was a train line close by our windows, but we couldn’t hear it and we had good sleep) - good breakfast, it had great coffee, bagels, cheese, eggs (though powdered), yogurts, etc. - calm neighborhood, it felt safe

- a bit pricey given you have to drive for 45-60 minutes to most of the tourist attractions - windows can’t be opened for fresh air (however, the A/C was good and we didn’t feel any lack of fresh air) - the A/C blows directly at the bed so we couldn’t keep it on while in bed (but it was enough to turn it on for some time before going to bed and then just keep it off for the night)

We enjoyed a very nice room with a comfortable bed, great climate control, and a nice living and workspace. The bathroom was large and nice. The room is very large and seating in the room is quite comfortable. The lobby is very nice and has a complimentary full buffet which was very good. There is a wine social in the evening which we did not attend. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is convenient to anything major in Downey. This hotel is quite new and still has a fresh feel.

We had asked for a room on a high floor and upon arrival received a room on the first floor. This was changed to one on the second floor which was a wheelchair-accessible room. Not really a problem though.

Clean. Comfortable and perfect location. Modern look.

Staff was not friendly upon arrival. I felt as if I was bothering the person taking our info. Maybe she was new and nervous? I couldn’t tell. We asked if we can leave our luggage on the bellhop cart we were told yes but we’re not told that our luggage would not be taken to our room and we’re not told that there was no bellhop staff.

The beds were really comfortable. I liked that the room that i got was on the same floor as the pool. The pool was great, there were lounge chairs and the water was nice and warm.

They need to do better about stains on the sheets, i had to ask for two clean sheets. I also think they should add potatoes to the breakfast. I didn't like that the cars would drive really fast in the parking lot and there are no speed pumps. I was sitting in the lobby having a drink and I was sitting by a big window and it was scary how the cars would drive really fast and it looked like they could almost drive right into the window.
