The staff Robyn and Jeremiah were exceptional. I had a booking problem and Jeremiah stepped right in to assist me. Robyn was very friendly and I recognized her from previous stays. Room was great size...fridge, sink, microwave, two queen size beds and very clean. Quiet at night. Outdoor sitting area overlooking river is so relaxing and stairs down to river a very nice addition. There is a barbque area which we did not use but others were enjoying it in the wonderful weather.

The one thing that I find universal in all motels/hotels is the craziness of the remote control. They are different in every setting and quite frankly a pain in the ass. It would be helpful to have some sort of instruction in writing to help those of us who are not tech inclined. But this is in most rooms we encounter in our travels and certainly did not take anything away from our trip.

We loved the room, the area was always clean and getting to the river was easy and the view from sitting in the chairs was amazing and peaceful..the clerk was super nice and I loved the old style room keys..it was a very very relaxing weekend..next time we plan on bringing our dogs..that's a nice plus you allow dogs..oh, and the beds were super comfy!!

The parking was tight, we drove our truck..but we liked the fact we had our own parking spot and didn't have to drive around looking for one..and the shower was a bit small..and im 5'3 113lbs..so it was a bit cramped..but it didn't deter us from having a beautiful time..

The area is beautiful and quiet, there was places to sit outside and hang out. There is a small stair case that leads to a little beach like area to play and hang out. They provide a fishing cleaning station as well as bbqs. The room had a little kitchenette with bar stools and seat. microwave with popcorn which was a really nice touch. There was coffee and mugs to use as well. perfect little family place.

There was short of staff and they were not able to fix a tv that wasn't working for the first night. i called the front desk, nothing. i called the other hotel that was given to me, just incase we needed anything, and no answer. I left a message at the front desk in the morning just incase when they arrived they could fix it. nothing. As well as there was a little market across the street but it was shut down but there is a market a little ways down that has everything too.

Check-in was quick and easy, front staff was friendly, and the hotel room was nice and toasty once you got the space heater turned on. Great place for a quiet getaway.

Location was secluded from the small town. It was less than a 10 minute drive away, but that is negligible. It was very nice and quiet because of that.

Loved staying here and definitely will be back. The location is amazing and so close to the river! The room was super comfortable, decorated nicely and lovely and clean

Only really minor things that I already know the owners are working on. The shower cubicle could have been a little bigger and the sliding doors a bit easier to use and a hair dryer in the room would have made this perfect. We did have the kitchenette and whilst it was quite well appointed with a microwave and fridge and some utensils I didn't feel that this made it distinct enough from other rooms so a small stove would have been just perfect,

In two weeks of travel this was my favorite motel. Jim was kind and so nice. The bed was fantastic. The room and amenities were more than ample. There were rocking chairs overlooking the Kern River and a large deck with BBQ and steps down to the river. The room was very attractively decorated with fishing themes. The river area along the highway to the north is super scenic. The town south of the lodge is both beachy (on the reservoir) and Old West.

I can't think of anything needing improving or changing.

Very nice sized room. Rustic but not primitive with comfortable beds (really!) Little kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave- even gave us popcorn to pop. We had a disabled room and parking and access to the room was easy. The hotel is right on the river but a general store/deli is across the street. I would recommend this place highly.

Was surprised by a $100 deposit for my 9 pound dog. However it is refunded if no damages.

Completely immersed in the American western spirit of the films. The lodge is typical, and so is the surrounding town! Nature is all around, making for a magical experience. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The lady on reception was extremely kind.

Everything. Kindness, generosity..location, pool, rooms great decorations, bicycle availability, barbeque space, hot tub .all great.

I thought we were getting queen bed but more like double. We will double check next time.

Lovely cozy and clean with great access to the park and there is a few diners nearby for breakfast or dinner. There is also a stream in the grounds where you can do some astrophotography of the milky way on a clear night. Felt very safe sitting outside the lodge at night.
