The room was perfect! The staff arranged flowers and treats for my husband and I to celebrate a milestone anniversary. They went above and beyond. We LOVED the in room jacuzzi tub. We left the slider open the entire time we were there. Sleeping with the sound of the ocean is calming. The balcony is private. It is a small venue and it is amazing!! They even brought us a brownie up to our room when I wanted chocolate!! We brought pizza back to our room (So GOOD!!) because the view in our room couldn't be beat!

I don't know how they could improve, they exceeded all expectations! We were there to focus on each other and tune everything else out. It worked!!

Shelter Cover is the place to come to if you really want to get away but still have all our creature comforts, and the Oceanfront Inn in as about as close to the ocean as one can get. I have been here before and continue to be very pleased with my stay. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the Wi-Fi performed reasonably well. Even in the middle of low season, it was nice that the cafe on the 1st floor was open until 3pm.

Nothing this property can control - the spotlights over the garage of the neighboring property on the cul-de-sac keeps one from really enjoying the night sky.

We enjoyed being able to utilize contactless check-in. It was quick and convenient. The room was a nice size and had vaulted ceilings. The toilet was separate from the shower (included a bathtub), and it had a window. The location was by far the best thing about the inn. The view was great from the 3rd floor and it was nice to have a private outdoor space.

The rooms can use some updating. The bed was a bit stiff and the decor and appliances were somewhat outdated. There was an unpleasant odor in the room, (likely from being so close to the water).

The room was spacious and clean. The hot tub was a nice bonus after a long day of exploring. Absolutely loved the balcony with an ocean view to watch the sunset in the evening and the morning waves while sipping coffee! There were restaurants nearby which was very convenient.

Although we never needed to contact staff, there was never anyone in the office when we walked by and we had no idea how to contact anyone if needed.

O, the fascination of the mighty ocean. This room was attached to a restaurant. The room was huge, comfortable and well put together. The backdoor, yes backdoor opens to chairs wonderfully located facing the ocean. It rained my 2 days, but that did not stop me from exploring nearby and walking beaches. There are 2 small stores, several restaurants but due to off season check before you go.

There could have been a light by the table near the fridge.

The location, it can't get any closer to the coast! The room was also quite large, and the balcony provided one of the best views of the coast you can find in town.

The blinds in our room were damaged, to the point where it got too bright in the morning to enjoy sleeping in. It was also quite cold before the heater got the room to the right temp. Some extra blankets/throws would be a nice touch.

Amazing views from south facing room 33. Hotel needs a little maintenance, but everything was clean and comfortable. It was our anniversary and the manager left us a nice bottle of champagne and some chocolates, both of which we enjoyed. Shelter Cove gave us easy access to hikes in Sinkyone Wilderness area. Surf Point Cafe on the bottom floor of the hotel was excellent!

Ceiling showed some signs of water damage. Deck needs some weather protective coating.

Wonderful location, view. Quiet, relaxing. Well equipped. Great bedroom tv. Great mattress and pillows.

Maintenance is overdue. One large window was fogged and in need of replacement. It ruins the view. Need tv in living room. Sofa bed is quite uncomfortable. Low on tp, pump soap and shampoo. Need a dark roast coffee

What makes this place incredible is the location. The 180 degree view on the ocean from the room is incredible! We got to see seals and gray whales from the hotel room. We couldn't believe it! The bed was comfortable and it was nice having a kitchen.

There was a lot of mess around the hotel, as though it was being renovated but they stopped halfway. Some areas were covered in swallow guano. Some amenities didn't work, like some lights and the dishwasher.

Everything was amazing from day one till the end. The contactless check-in was perfect. We came to get away from the hustle from the City of Columbus, Ohio and to celebrate our 15th year anniversary. Our needs were outstandingly met. We met Donna (the innkeeper) for a brief moment to get some ice and coffee. She made us feel right at home. She was very friendly and you can really tell she loves her job. The seals were so entertaining. The tide pools were interesting to explore also. We found a mountain spring in Deadmans Gulch and decided to sit and chill for a bit. While we were there a family of Sea Otters came out of the ocean and frolicked around! There were wild turkeys every time we went for a drive. Foxes were slyly creeping around everywhere. And I can't forget to mention all the deer. They are abundant. We enjoyed a sunset on a log every night and always had some deer buddies hanging out with us. Oh and I can't forget to mention the neighborhood buck, Ben. He's magnificent. All the wildlife and you're surrounded by with the most amazing beaches and mountain views. I cried from the beauty of it several times. It was purely overwhelming at times. Our first outing we went to Fort Bragg to railbike through the Redwoods and finished that day at the Glass Beach. Then we made a trip through the Redwoods on the Avenue of Giants. We also stopped at the Eel River to do some of the most serene Rockhounding. The drive from San Francisco was incredible too. Going through wine country and then driving through Kings Range. The 24 mile drive to Shelter Cove was unbelievable. There were lots of twists and turns but there were a good amount of turnouts to pull off for locals so you can enjoy being a tourist. From the smells of the nurseries/farms, the pine and redwoods to the salty ocean. It was the most amazing, life changing vacation. We were literally planning our retirement the whole time we were there.
