As is the trend around Tahoe, Evo refurbished an old decrepit motel into a modern hotel. Really appreciate this as Tahoe has a shortage of mid-range hotels for those of us that don't want to spend over $400 a night but also don't want to risk getting bed bugs in a dirty motel. The upgrade is generally tasteful and comfortable, although keep in mind they have to work with the existing motel structure, hence very small bathrooms. Appreciated the on-site sauna although some room for improvement here. The on-site restaurant had a limited menu when we were there but the two things we ordered were delicious - look forward to their full menu. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The sauna's location, in front of reception and next to the car park, is not ideal and doesn't have that sense of peace and relaxation you associate with saunas. It needs hooks for guests to hang their clothes or towels, as in the winter it's quite cold to walk straight from the room outside to the sauna. The cold plunge tub wasn't yet functional when we were there but appeared to be too small for a proper cold plunge. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom (the shower drain and sink?) appear to be original and seem a little aged / worn.

The hotel was clean, everything was new and the furniture was nice and comfortable. What I enjoyed the most was the staff. They were warm, welcoming, accommodating and always answered the phone/my questions. My daughters left items in the room and we were able to get them back with no issue. But the real amazing part is that I left my engagement ring and didn’t realize until I was on the road! I called, they had it and gave me instructions on how it can be sent back to me. They answered every email and phone call I had about it and I am so impressed by that. Oh, even the staff at the restaurant they have was nice. Overall it was an amazing experience!

Maybe the cost could be better.

The beds are super comfortable and the location is great. You can walk to everything easily, whether along the street or down on the lake walkway. It was easy with our dog. The two sitting areas at the front were comfortable and fun since we had a group. Loved being able to go to the bar/restaurant to get a beverage, snack and hang out.

Since the floors are hard (vs. carpet) there is a fair amount of noise if those above you are walking around. Check in and check out were lengthy due to system issues and staff newness. That said, everyone was very nice.

Super modern updates to an old motel. It was great having the restaurant/bar next door. The two patio s were nice! Enjoyed the back patio . Good w our dog.!

You could really hear the people above walking around as the floors aren’t carpeted.

I have been staying here for the last 20 plus yrs...if I'm not at a friend's house in Truckee or renting a Cabin .It's always a good value $wise,great location,the staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful.Rooms are clean. Hot Tub is nice to have....it's nothing fancy but we don't need a lot of frills after a long day of Skiing etc ...instead of spend the extra $ we save on Dining out,shopping in TC ...Mary-Ann & Danny

Great location in Tahoe City. Across street from beach and 10 minute drive to Olympic Valley. Staff were extraordinarily helpful. Efficient, quiet heater. Needs to work on soundproofing from adjacent rooms.

Excellent stay at Americas Best Value Inn. Staff is super nice. Erin in particular gets out of her way to create a perfect experience. Comfortable rooms. On my second night, I had a room facing the golf course, which was a great view.

Included breakfast is very basic, with coffee, some simple pastry and fruit. And there's no sitting at the breakfast place, so you have to take it to your room. It'd be nice to have a little bit more.

The best thing was the location!! I loved being within walking distance of the beach and restaurants!! I also appreciated that my room was relatively quiet! The accommodations and service met my expectations and I don't feel I like need more. It was perfect for my budget. I'm a bit concerned that with new ownership the prices will go up and I'll be priced out of this location.

The outside upstairs walkways were a bit concerning. I was a bit worried about whether they were structurally sound. I'm not sure if I would have used the pool, but my friends were disappointed that it wasn't open.

The location was excellent. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

My stay started out extremely well with staff being very pleasant. However, it ended on a sour note with the man at the front desk being extremely rude. I started to tell him how pleases I was with the room. He interrupted me and said he had left me a voicemail. I had reserved the room with a credit card but wanted to pay cash which I did. Maybe he is just an unhappy person.

Front desk receptionist and location. Good warnings about hungry bears coming out of hibernation. New better coffee in reception area. Fridge/microwave in room.

Continental breakfast could have more variety such as yoghurt or bread and toppings (pb, jam). Door locks not functioning with key cards.
