This was one of our best vacations. We were really impressed with the accommodations. Plenty of room, no crowds and very close to the beach for our morning walks. The facility is very well kept and because it is the only property on the block, it feels like you have your own access to the beach. The views of the beach and the ocean are spectacular from any one of the balconies on the house. The inside is beautifully decorated and has all the essentials if you just want to just hang out and do nothing. We had rented the facility for just us two but we could have easily two more family members. The dining room seats 16 and the kitchen appears to have recently been upgraded and has everything you need to cook a meal. The family room has a very nice couch and flat screen, just remember to bring your passwords to watch Netflix, Prime and other streaming channels. Oh did we forget to mention that this place is two story? Yes! On the second floor is this regulation style pool table and a jacuzzi with a full view of the ocean. Next to that room are the sleeping quarters. Two giant bedrooms with full bath (tub/shower). And again balconies to see the ocean and beach. There is not a whole lot to do around area but there are enough areas to walk and enjoy clean community and the wild life that come down from the trees. We saw deer, foxes, rabbits, wild turkeys and vultures. On the beach there are plenty of seals and sea lions that you can hear barking from the distance. And in the far stance you can hear a booey ring and the horn at night. Not annoying just something to zone out to. We have a few meals for dinner at the Venezuelan restaurant called Mi Mochima. Very good food and great customer service. Tory ave to try the grilled chicken and the empanadas. The best. For breakfast ate at the Black Sands Cafe located right on the cliffs. Good food, good service and spectacular views of the ocean and the surroundings.

Everything was perfect

It was beautiful, secluded and quiet!

Nothing really. It was exceptional!

-The location was precious! The sea views from the room and the grounds are poster-worthy. Short walk to black sand beaches. Tidepools nearby. A tiny community that feels a world away from my daily cares. -The innkeeper has done a great job furnishing each room with unique pieces. She is hospitable without being intrusive and gave us local insights on where to go and what to do. -The bed was SO comfortable that after coming home and sleeping in my own bed, I immediately decided to buy a new bed! -The room we stayed in (Queen Room) is like a studio apartment with full kitchen, living room area, bed area, and private patio / deck. Perfect for a couple's getaway into privacy and seclusion on the coast!

-While the kitchen had a few dishes, knives, and silverware, it was relatively sparsely outfitted. For example, more than one serving bowl, olive oil / salt&pepper, or an extra roll of paper towels might have been nice. Similarly, only one roll of toilet paper was provided (we resorted to Kleenexes...) The innkeeper would surely have provided more if we'd asked, I believe. -No window coverings. While I enjoyed waking up to the morning light and ocean view, my partner would have preferred some way to darken the room in the morning.

The road into Shelter Cove is long and challenging

The views were incredible and the room was absolutely beautiful. Lavish. Check-in was super easy and so was check-out. The balcony was my favorite place.

Wonderful location, literally on the edge of the continent, at the end of a cul-de-sac! The views are incredible. We saw seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales, deer and foxes, and a too many birds to mention, from our balcony. Short walks took us to the Black Sands Beach in one direction and the town of Shelter Cove in the other. The manager (Diana) was very helpful, she even arranged dinner reservations for us on the night of our arrival as we were behind schedule. (we'll blame the beautiful drive from Eureka for that!) She was filled with local lore and suggestions.

There are only three restaurants in town. The top rated one was closed during our stay due to Covid (I hope they're all right!) The road to the coast from 101 is narrow and very winding. I don't advise taking it at night. (Maybe it's condition prevents some from coming, which is actually a good thing!)

The property was beautiful. It’s location. Was perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of the north west coastline. It was clean, very well taken care of. Just perfect.

We had some warm days, and a little air circulation, aka ceiling fan, or ac, would have made it more comfortable during a night or two. Other than that perfect.

The views are spectacular

Place to store suitcases would have been nice. Not a deal breaker however

My room had everything I needed. Kitchen, refrigerator, etc. The location was perfect in every way.

The views of the ocean are amazing here, even if you don't get the NW-facing family unit. The kitchen was well equipped and the location is perfect if you want privacy. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful. Really good food nearby but nothing on site. Proximity to the Black Sands beach was great, and there is ample grassy space to take your dog out on.

My biggest complaint is that the sliding screen door for the patio was extraordinarily difficult to open and close, which was a bummer given the views. As others have mentioned, the bed was comically high but very comfortable; However, I would not recommend this unit if you need something ADA-compliant. Also, the kitchen was well setup but none of the cabinets had pull hardware, so getting the doors open was a bit finicky. All that said, I would come back here again.
