February 2024
Very clean and huge laid back hotel with stunning views and its own beaches
It’s not about hotel itself, just couple of tips: 1. This is the very north of the island. In February it was very windy and much colder than in Honolulu or west of island. If you want to stay for a short period it maybe that there won’t be any sunny and warm days. 2. Very hard traffic in this location. Narrow road and a lot of surfers make you 2 miles drive to 40 minutes. 3. No any highlights near hotel. All interesting points like viewpoints, restaurants etc - are near Honolulu or west. If you are here it’s like an escape hotel experience. 4. Choice of restaurant. There is very nice restaurant in the hotel, but if you want to dinner there book the table in advance as much as you can. I booked the table 2 months in advance and it wasn’t so much time slots.

Location, rooms, facilities, beach, adults pool and spa area (although needs to be much larger). Options for food and self laundry facilities were great.
A couple of small things - no slippers or robes in the room. No one advised that the parking was 40 dollars a day and we only were aware when we checked out. Prices should also be listed on the initial website page for treatments before you get to the page to book - very expensive.

The bungalow room we stayed in was beautiful and clean and had the most stunning view of the water! The bathroom was great with a huge soaking tub. Staff was friendly and grounds were really lovely to walk around. They had golf cart rides from the bungalows to the main property to cut down on walking if you requested which was amazing!
Just a few misses with requests not getting done such as telling us they would bring ice or our bags up from the bell desk and not following through. We also put out the room service card for breakfast and when the time came and went that we requested the food for we called and they said they didn’t pick it up even though it states to just leave it on the door.

It is hard to choose, everything was amazing. The room was beautiful with a gorgeous view. No matter where you were on the property, it was an amazing view. The staff were all so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. All of the food and drinks were delicious for every meal and we tried all of the restaurants, the cafe, the bars, and in-room dining. Everything was amazing! Even the name didn’t disappoint as we saw and swam near turtles!
There isn’t anything we disliked, but I’m glad I had looked at reviews beforehand to know to bring water socks/swim shoes. They were very needed for how rocky the cove could be while swimming.

Definitely the place for us to stay in Oahu. We looked at Waikiki and am so glad we chose to stay here. Two very different places but for us if you are going to the island we wanted to enjoy the natural beauty. The hotel has a great vibe and has lots to choose from. A number of different activities, great gym, lovely walks around the surrounding area, some nice shops and a number of different of eating options. Definitely book ahead if you are going at a busy time as the beach restaurant as an example gets booked out quickly. Bookings are on “Open table.” Rooms were lovely and really well designed.
We stayed during the handover from the PE group to the Ritz. Definitely would say this wasn’t a smooth handover as a resident of the hotel. Will be interesting to see what changes!

Great! Great! Great! Rooms all have good views of what Hawaii is all about (beaches, ocean, sun, surfers, even a turtle). The breakfast was exceptional though we did not like that all warm breakfast food (eggs etc.) had to be paid extra for. The little market in the hotel is fully equipped and also not so little. Important since there are only very few alternatives nearby. For turtles one needs to drive to some of the nearby beaches (15min). Don´t miss the historic landmark with a five minute walk : "Opana radar station" and it´s role on Dec 7, 1941 (attack on Pearl Harbour). It is right next to the surf school in the hotel.
The restaurant at the golf club sounded great as it was described but turns out to be far below any average golf club restaurant. Does not complement this hotel´s leaque. In the main restaurants/breakfast & dinner food was good, breakfast even great, but on consecutive days some (few) restaurant staff appeared a bit snippy at first.

Loved the beautiful, natural location of the resort. The rooms were gorgeous with the most amazing view in both directions. Our favourite part of the resort was the sunset bar.. we spent many hours each afternoon and evenings there. I also thoroughly enjoyed the bird watching tour available via the resort. The tour guide was incredible and we toured the resort spotting amazing migratory and native birds living on the property. Highly recommend the tour if you are interesting in natural flora/ fauna.
Prices of food and quality not outstanding for such a wonderful resort

The main communal areas of the hotel are gorgeous. The refurbishment to the lobby area is stunning. This is our third time staying at the property but the first time since the refurb. The amenities and activities are fantastic. The little cafe in the lobby is also fantastic.
The property is stunning, however given the hotel is switching over to the Ritz, my main comment on the rooms would be to get rid of the carpet. It’s filthy and makes the rooms stink! We had to sleep with the door open because the smell in the room, which is due to the old, damp carpet is unbelievable

Location is amazing! Beautiful views, pool and beach are awesome. Kids love the waterslides! Lobby looks and feels really cool and comfortable. Had great service from valet, room service, pool towels, market, cafe, and some wait staff.
For the price, I didn’t feel like the amenities, food, and some staff interactions were up to par. Jacuzzi was broken for our entire stay. We had such terrible service on 2 occasions that we actually gave detailed complaints. Hotel responded okay to the complaint but not in the way I would have expected for this caliber hotel. Mai Tai was awful and food was pretty meh.

Beautiful hotel with great service. everyone was very friendly and helpful. the only downside is the high price. The remodel has really taken the pmace a level up. The rooms are a bit small but that's just how this place was built originally. The service everwhere was very attentive, far better than the typical Ritz resort factory experience. This is likely because the hotel used to be independent and the same folks are in charge regardless of the rebranding.
adult pool was unheated. main pool is a bit small.
