Very spacious 2 bedroom cottage had everything we needed for our stay. Lots of room for the family to spread out. Great views of the surrounding area. The pool area was nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The unit was very clean and well decorated. Lots of screen windows and doors allowed the breeze to cool it off.

The chickens/roosters were very loud around 3-4 AM every day, disrupting sleep. And with only screen windows there was no way to tune it out (should have brought ear plugs I guess). The lack of A/C caused it to get a little warm during the peak of the day, but not too bad. You have to drive a little ways to reach a beach.

We love the location. Our apartment had a view of the waterfalls above nearby Hanalei Bay. It's a short drive to Hanalei and the Princeville Center (for restaurants, shops and grocery stores) and the beautiful Makai golf course. The apartment buildings are set well apart from one another with large, landscaped lawn areas in-between. We used the well-maintained swimming pool area, which has lounge chairs, umbrellas, propane barbecue, restroom and a soda machine that accepts credit cards. This was our second stay at the Makai Club Resort, and the staff members were as welcoming and helpful as during our first visit a year and a half ago. We used the resort's free beach chairs and umbrella. They let guests keep them during their stays. We also rented snorkel, mask and swim fins from the resort at a nominal price. We will most likely return to the Makai Club Resort on our next visit to Kauai.

Loved this resort which was perfectly located with easy access to Hanalei beaches and hiking trails. Plenty of good restaurants and food trucks nearby. We stayed in a bottom unit which felt like a dark basement at first but we liked that it was private and welcomed daily visits from the chickens on the back patio. Having a washer/dryer was very helpful!

The pool and hot tub were small. For so many units, it would have been nice to have a second hot tub. We couldn't use the hot tub on a couple of occasions because there were people inside already.

Wonderful scenic area. Chicken & roosters grazing. Friendly cats cared for by the facility. Pool and hot tub well maintained. BBQ at pool area was handy. Bikes available for checkout free of charge. Reasonable rental rate for boogie boards. Friendly staff. I love how my condo has a lot of screened louvers to the exterior. With the moderate temperatures I opened all of them to enjoy the breeze and birds.

It didn’t bug me much at all, but the high shelfs in the utility closet need to be cleaned. I’m very tall, most people wouldn’t ever notice. Otherwise it was very clean when we arrived.

The condo was huge and definitely more than I expected! It was more than enough room for two people. Well stocked with kitchen appliances/utensils. The washer and dryer were a huge bonus. The pool was quiet and very clean. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful. Beach gear provided. Grocery story nearby. Plenty of parking.

The closest beach is about a 30 minute walk/5 minute drive, but has very little parking. I definitely recommend driving down the road a little and checking out Hanalei beach. Also, if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, because the roosters will wake you up at 5:30 :)

Very spacious and comfortable apartment, with full kitchen and laundry. Immaculately clean and well maintained. Beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the nice pool and jacuzzi. Staff were great providing information. Office lends beach chairs, umbrellas and bicycles. The general location is good for exploring the North Shore and everything it has to offer.

While the general location is good, the resort is not within easy (less than 30 minutes) walking distance to store, supermarket, beach or restaurants.

Lady at reception on my arrival was the nicest staff member I met since arriving in Hawaii, almost 2 weeks ago and having stayed in 3 different places already. Welcoming, informative and humorous! Bed extremely comfortable. Room 10/10 for cleanliness. AC and fan perfect. Parking right outside and free. Fridge, coffee maker and microwave in room very handy. The grounds of the hotel are pretty and well maintained.

No cutlery in room.

The condo buildings are well apart from one another, separated by large, beautifully landscaped lawn areas. We could see Hanalei Falls in the distance from our balcony. The resort was quiet and relaxing during our weeklong stay. The staff members were knowledgeable and friendly. Juan, the young man who checked us in, gave us a thorough orientation and made us feel welcome. Upon learning our 44th wedding anniversary was coming up during our visit, Juan went into another room and returned with a bottle of wine for us -- a nice surprise for the start of our stay. The resort offers complimentary use of beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, and bicycles, and rents out swim gear at a reasonable price. It also is a short distance from the road to the Princeville Shopping Center and Hanalei Bay, and to the walking path on the north side of the Makai golf course.

We rented a 2-bedroom apartment that was clean and spacious. The high ceilings, lanais, and two king-sized beds were a highlight. The pool and hot tub area was great. Staff members Jackie, Jamie, and Andrew were hospitable and helpful throughout our stay.

The apartment does not have AC. It was fine for our stay since the weather was cooler, however, may not be comfortable in the warm/hot summer months.

Great facilities with beach chairs, umbrella, ice for cooler, nice toiletries. Very comfortable king size bed, a/c and fans. Very clean BBQ facilities & easy to use. Nice places to sit on property to appreciate where you are. 8 minute drive to Hanelei Bay. Large condo with lots of room. Staff lovely and welcoming. Great place to stay.
