The location was perfect for us. The room was large and clean. Bed was good. Nice having a little sofa inside. Air conditioning worked well. It's an older motel, but it was clean and welcoming. The owners seem very nice.

Room was dark at night. We had trouble getting all of the lights to work. Had a bit of trouble with the electronic lock on the door. Unfortunately when we arrived the owner was not present and we had to work with a substitute who wasn't overly familiar with things. We may have been doing it wrong, but we worked it out in the long run. Would we stay there again? Yes.

Bed was comfortable. Nice and quiet. I liked that instead of carpet, the floors were vinyl plank. The heat and ac worked fine. Plenty of hot water and the pressure was great. I liked the room, but it could use a little work.

Although the shower walls were very nice, the bathtub finish was peeling and the tub spout was not installed flush to wall. It felt like it might break off if not careful.

The family that owns the Gas Light Motel were incredibly kind and welcoming. I LOVED the plants in the lobby that draped all across the ceiling! The owners offered to take a pic of me with the plants, very kind. The bed was EXTREMELY soft and comfortable. You can tell MANY updates have been made to improve customer experience. I was very happy with my stay there.

Honestly, not a thing. I had no complaints. It's not a 4 star hotel, it's the Gas Light Motel that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. BUT it's perfect the way it is, comfortable, affordable and private.

We have stayed here many times and it's been our first choice when we travel to see my husband's son. The people are wonderful! Friendly! Smile! The location is out of town so it's quiet. And we like the throw back to the past.

Exhaust fan needs to have a better cover on it when not in use to block out the weather. It was very muggy outside and the warm air came into our room. We had to turn the ac down and finally had to keep bathroom door closed so our room would stay cool. When you walked into the bathroom then it was so warm. Needs to be either a small table under the towel rack or some sort of wall shelf/shelves above the toilet as there's no place to put your personal/hygiene etc products. One more thing. In the microwave/fridge area there really needs to be a light of some sort. It's dark over there and difficult to fix food or whatever. Other then these few smaller issues we love it here!! Thank you

It might have been off a main road but it was still very quiet. The bed was very comfortable.

It was nothing special but it didn't claim to be and it was well worth the price. So nothing to complain about.

I liked the helpful staff and the location of the motel. My room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. This motel is a great value and a great choice in the Lawrence, IL/Vincennes, IN area.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

The bed is always comfortable. Room always clean (linens weren't the best this time...yellow blanket was stained. Clean but stained). Staff is always so polite and friendly. I know they're in the model of remodeling, and it's beautiful! But the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall. This could have been a big repair job if we had not caught it and reported it. Just an fyi for future reference...if you're not hitting a beam always use anchors on drywall. It will eliminate damage. The biggest concern was the water. We hardly had any water in the shower. It took 15+/- mins to get hot water AND the hot/cold lines were/are hooked back up wrong. The cold side brings hot water and vice versa. Thus could cause serious injury. Oh one more thing...it would be so much nicer to have lighting in the microwave/refrigerator area. We will stay there again of course when we come to visit my stepson. Just need a lil more dbl checking during your remodel. 😊

I would like to get my rooms around on the backside I like it better back there

The staff were very friendly. Room had a seventies look to it, but it had all of the modern amenities.

The lighting was minimal and hard on the eyes. No coffee in the room.

The motel sits just outside of town in a more rural area. I enjoyed being away from the usual commotion of in-town locations.

The furnishings have seen better days and the hardwoods were a bit dusty.
