Step back in time at Soda Butte Lodge in Cooke City, Montana. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the lodge and our room were really nicely decorated. It was perfect for an up in the mountains setting. We felt this lodge was a great value for this wonderfully unique place in the mountains, only a few miles outside northwestern Yellowstone. We woke up to a moose out our window the first day of our stay and decided to extend our time there because it was so nice. We will definitely stay here again.

We were very impressed with how clean the room was and the comfortable King Sized Bed. I always check the bathroom for cleanliness mainly the corners which were very clean. Most motels are disgusting. Really liked the clean LVP flooring rather than the dirty looking carpeting. We enjoyed your mini continental breakfast, especially the hot, delicious coffee which got our day started happy. We ate dinner in your restaurant which was very good.

Always feel the rooms are too expensive, which guess they all are, especially after adding in all of the taxes.

I'm so glad I chose this hotel for my stay. I could see animals in Lamar Valley both in the morning and evening. Cooke City is a very small place with a low population, but the scenery is beautiful. The hotel has a restaurant, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. The decor is unique, and the service is great—they really catered to our needs. I'll definitely book this hotel again if I get the chance.

Centrally located in a small town it has a western charm and rooms were standard and had a nice view of mountain behind us.

Restaurant not opened for breakfast but they do have a coffee machine in lobby but needed to be serviced. If you need ice you need to go to front desk and ask for it. Would be easier to have an ice machine available to guests.

Quite a basic hotel but perfectly fine for a few nights. Good location for visiting Yellowstone

The lodge is located right outside the park so was extremely convenient. The room was large with a view of the stream and the forest in the back. The hotel staff was very amiable and accommodating.

The room could have been a bit cleaner and one of the lights in the room was not working.

The hotel was in a small, quaint mountainous town and it was very enjoyable. When we looked out the big window in our room, we saw snow covered mountains, which was a beautiful site. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, and there was no road noise. Our room was next to laundry room, and the noise from laundry room was loud but only for about 15-20 minutes. This noise stopped way before bedtime. There was no complimentary breakfast to rate, but we already knew breakfast was not included. There was a restaurant in the hotel, but we did not eat there so no rating can be made. There were stains on the hall carpet but the floor in room was clean. The bathroom was clean. The room smelled clean---not musty like older rooms can be. The bed was comfortable. Overall, it was not perfect but the little flaws could be overlooked for the location, price and comfort of a good night's sleep.

The laundry could have been done beteeen checkout and check-in, but maybe that is when the staff does the laundry and just had so much, not all was completed that day and staff had to run washer/dryer later in day. Regsrdless, laundry room was not used during bedtime hours. The stained carpet in the hall could be replaced, but that really didnt affect us from getting a good night sleep, so it wasnt a deal breaker for us

It’s 6 mins to the NE entrance and significantly less expensive than other places we looked. We were surprised and delighted to find a refrigerator in the room which wasn’t listed! Water pressure was good.

The wifi was crappy. We could barely do anything on it at all. The bedspreads are super outdated and would be a relatively easy “upgrade”. The only way to get ice was to ask an employee, and they were not around in the morning.

It was clean. It has newer furniture. The staff and environment at the hotel are very laid back and helpful. Very friendly as well. Very good restaurant located in the hotel. Great food and has alcohol if you are interested in that.

Though the hotel is clean. The floors have many stains in the carpeting throughout the hotel as well as the room that I had. It makes it appear less inviting. Other than that stained carpet, it is clean and well kept for its age.

The owner and housekeeping service were outstanding. My family member unfortunately had a stomach virus and was incontinent and they cheerfully cleaned the bed and added fresh linens. It was an embarrassing situation but they made us feel comfortable with the situation.
