Location was really good, I really liked the idea of complimentary water bottles at the reception. And the staff was really friendly and helped us immediately when we requested to change rooms.

Our first room was not good (at 7th floor). The carpet on the hall smelled really bad, and it was a connecting room. People next room were really noisy. They were kinda having a party, and in the middle of the night they started a fight and the woman was screaming insanily at 4:30 am, even after we asked her to stop twice. Also, the shower didn't have a proper limit with the rest of the bathroom, so, after the shower the floor got really really wet. But then we asked to change rooms, and it seemed that we were in a totally different hotel (11th floor). Clean hall, much better bathroom, and not a connecting room, so no noise from next door. Had we been given this room before, I would have had a completely different opinion.

The staff was very friendly and able to go extra mile to meet guests expectations. The room was reasonably clean and neat. Drinking water is free and unlimited for guests. The smoking area on the rooftop was the highlight of my trip, because it can accommodate the needs of those who are smoking and expecting some fresh air. And also pollution free because it’s located on the 19th floor.

The TV in the room could’ve use some upgrades to smart TV so the guests are able to relax while enjoy movies and shows.

The window view was on the Empire State building and Manhattan! The maid ladies were so polite and nice. Unlimited water near the front, small dining area downstairs. Easy access to the room with card keys. We booked one more night and they kindly allowed us to stay in the same room. A safe in the room, enough hangers and blow dryer. The location was amazing, close to the markets and cafes, and good grocery stores. We felt safe in the area. I'd stay again.

No fridge in the room, the AC is pretty loud (so take the earplugs). The elevators were weird and slow - sometimes stopping at a random floor with no one to enter. Sometimes only one elevator was working, so we decided to walk on the 11th floor. I'd avoid staying in #1109 room (unless you are part of the Ghostbusters crew). We stayed in a different room on the 11th floor and accidentally found out about room #1109 (we were so relieved to know it wasn't our room omg).

The room had a nice amount of space! King room with a comfortable bed, but the star is the incredible city view I had from the 18th floor. Nothing fancy, but filled all my needs. Was it a bit run down with some wear and tear? Sure, but was it clean and functional? Yes.The room size was decent, not like a shoebox. This is a little quirky hidden gem of a hotel. Nice perk of free bottled water and hot beverages any time, in the lounge area. I would definitely recommend or come back again. Especially for the excellent location. Loved the cleaning women. There's also a cute little fitness center I arrived earlier than the 3 pm. check-in, but I appreciated they managed to get me into a room a few hours early, which was nice.

This hotel was a bargain and I took a chance. The hotel was clean and smelled amazing everywhere including lobby and hallways. The room was very clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable and the shower was huge and excellent. I loved walking around this neighborhood there were great restaurants and the shopping was interesting. I would stay here again easily.

Rooms were slightly dated but that is a minor point

The room was old, with lots of wear and tear and 80s-style furniture, but it was otherwise comfortable. The place was quiet, and the window view of the Empire State Building in the distance was nice. The location was great, with several good places to eat within a 10-minute walking radius. I would especially recommend Square Diner as a cheap and tasty option for early breakfast.

The Wi-Fi could be faster. It would be useful to have a mini fridge in the room. The light switch in the bathroom had cracked plastic—I believe it may not comply with fire and electrical codes and should be replaced.

I booked a Tribeca King room, which is located on the upper floors. We had a huge room — 1704 — with a window that opened, so we could get some fresh air. One entire side of the room was floor-to-ceiling windows. The room wasn’t just big, it was massive. In addition to the bed, there was a sofa, two tables, and still plenty of open space. The furniture was a bit dated, and there was some mold in the bathroom grout, but everything worked and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They I liked everything! SoHo is a beautiful neighborhood — I’d love to live there someday.

The towels were old, and there was mold in the bathroom grout

It’s a basic hotel, but it does the job really well. The location is awesome – super close to the subway and even some tourist spots you can walk to if you’re into walking. SoHo isn’t packed with tourists, so you get more of a local vibe, which I really liked. The room was great – the bed was super comfy (just the right amount of softness), and the shower had strong water pressure. They also have free coffee, tea, and water, plus an ice machine, which is a nice bonus.

the cleanliness was okay – nothing major to complain about, but it could be better. The room felt a bit old, kind of like something from the ’90s, and the overall condition was just average – still acceptable, but nothing impressive. Also, the bar wasn’t operating during my stay, which was a bit disappointing.

We have stayed here 3 Thursdays in the last month and are very happy we found SoHo54. The location in SoHo is excellent for our concerts at The Bitter End in NoHo. The price is excellent for a quick run into NYC overnight. The staff is always pleasant, the rooms are clean and larger than many we have stayed in in NYC for 3 times more. They have bottled water available at the desk that you can take any time you are going in or out. Complimentary coffee is also available 24/7. We have stayed there for $137 taxes included. Obviously, prices vary but if you are looking for a clean, no frills room with a comfortable bed and nice shower, SoHo54 will meet your expectations. I don't know if I would want to stay there for a week but overnight to go to a concert in that area...SoHo54 is the perfect hotel for us.

This hotel has a gym but no other real amenities to speak of. This has not bothered us at all as our stays have been one night only. I think they have a bar but we have not visited it.
