My holidays took a nasty turn when, after riding into town with my sister, my nephew, and my dog, her and my mom got in a fight, and she stormed out of town back home--without us. I lyfted to the air BNB that I had booked a month in advance for us four, to find it had been double booked. The occupying family and I both contacted the host, and we chose to leave the property and let the family win the reservation -- there was 7 of them and only 2 of us. I reached out to the major hotel chains nearby and found that they had no vacancies, and the one that could accommodate a room wouldn't allow check in until after 3. It's 8 AM on Christmas morning. My moms house was full, 20 in total in a 4 bedroom 3 bath house, not including the 5 canines that were hit or miss on being friendly. By the grace of God, I came across the Hill Country Inn & Suites. They were pet friendly, allowed early check in, inexpensive, and incredibly clean. The staff was so professional, welcoming, and radiated excellent customer service. The water in the shower was piping hot, the channel selection was impressive, the towels and bed very comfortable and neat. The furniture was updated and classic. The AC and heater unit worked perfectly. Within a 5 minute walk were three corner stores, two that offered gas. A Subway, a Dairy Queen, and an authentic Italian Restaurant where my dog and I enjoyed drinks and appetizers on their outdoor patio. 7-11 delivers 24/7 to this location, and there was a small field to the side of the property that I could effiently walk my dog, and was well lit overnight. The ice machine was clean and operating. Even being located on a major highway, the noise was minimum. Police patrolled heavily in the area, especially get dark. There was two bars in close proximity, one diagonally across from the Inn.

If I had to make any sort of suggestion toward areas of improvement, I would just encourage to detail the flooring of the room mildly more intent. I dropped my room key behind the bed on accident, and pulled the bed frame off the wall just enough to reach it. A little mix of hair and dust bunnies resided here, as well as some chips and candy pieces that we didn't have during our reservation. Noticable was a small amount of coffee drips that were present in front of the mini kitchen armoire set up, although there was not any coffee or darker beverages consumed. Lastly, if a storing device for the ice machine scoop could be considered, it would prevent contamination from the handle into the supply.

It was quiet and nice, the lady at check in was super sweet. This time it was quiet and no loud people banging around but I was up stairs this time (last time I was on a ground floor).

Overall it was clean and nice, just a few minor things like a hole in the wall, water marks in the ceiling, and cigarette burns on the little fridge (smoke free room). The bed was also on the hard side, you can feel the frame through the mattress, especially if you lay in the middle (king bed room).

Great location and price, the staff was awesome. I had to leave early and they actually refunded me the days I didn't stay. I would stay there again. Bonus it did not smell like other cheap hotels.

The outside looks like kind of old. I'm sure it could use some updates. But I reckon if they did a bunch of updates they would have to raise their prices, so its fine, everything worked.

Was an older place , but was well maintained, room wasn’t that big but very comfortable, the house keeping was good, no breakfast, but was a good stay ,

The house keeping , they changed the beds and towels for the next night, and were very helpful when we needed them,

Front desk clerk was so helpful, extremely knowledgeable and relatable… Great job!

Parking in front of room was not an option. Had a truck with stuff in the back of it and was nervous all night about its safety although nobody messed with anything.

There is no breakfast or even coffee in office. Coffee in room is horrible. Heater in room was very noisy.

Two of the drawers in my room wouldn't close.They would slide back open no matter what I tried.It was a little annoying trying to walk by without bumping into them,but not a deal breaker.Im sure the attendant would have done something about it,but she was so friendly that I didn't bother.

I was looking for an relatively inexpensive place to sleep while visiting friends in the area. Wasn't looking for luxury.

Being right on the main road made getting in and out a bit hard during high traffic periods.
