The hotel is really comfortable and close from the Monument Valley.
Could have been nice to allow hotel guests to have priority or reservation at the restaurant. As it's the only one around, it's super crowdy with other guests. At least, offering a "call to your room" a few minutes before the table is ready would be great instead of having to wait 30 minutes outside.

We stayed in the One-Bedroom Suite w/ Kitchenette and it felt like a cozy little house - spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The kitchenette was perfect for preparing a quick meal, though no breakfast was included. I read they serve an amazing breakfast at a great price, but we opted to grab something from the nearby supermarket instead. The location is stunning, with breathtaking views of Monument Valley right outside. Waking up to the sunrise over the mesas was unforgettable! At $187.20/night (on October 31, 2024), it was a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it for the comfort and experience. Highly recommend!
A bit pricey

The natural beauty is awesome 😎 We stayed in one of the little cottages with a front porch facing MV. There’s a whole jumble of them, make sure you ask for one with a good view if you book early enough. We took the trail up to the grocery store and then on up to breakfast and dinner at the Lodge. Nice walk! Appreciated the kitchen (no stove) for snack making with supples from the grocery next door. Also - they have a laundromat on site with lots of machines.
Breakfast was good. Dinner not so much. Chicken was dry and my burrito had some hard rice (or something?) in it that really detracted from the taste.

We were traveling with our dog and stayed in one of the cabins for two nights. Our cabin was positioned in a great location with an amazing long view of Monument Valley. The cabin itself was suitably comfortable and clean. The staff which we encountered were all incredibly polite and gracious. After a very long drive to the area, we stopped in Kayenta for groceries on the way in. However, the store at Gouldings was actually much better. The drive to into the Monument Valley Tribal park is very short. Spent some time driving and experiencing the park which is amazing. Gouldings was perfect for our stay.

Its location! Amazing views over to Monument Valley. I was on the upstairs floor. I’m 64yo and would have preferred a ground floor room and asked at reception if they had availability on the ground floor and could I move? The two receptionists tried very hard to meet my request but did not have the availability - but at least they tried for me 😊. If you need the ground floor they can try to help you if you give them notice. The room was spacious and had a balcony, adding to the space. The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean. The bed was comfy too. And did I mention the incredible views! There’s a pool, and a lovely, sunny seating area. The hotel also has a restaurant and a gift shop.
Nothing to dislike.

The Goulding's Lodge is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Monument Valley. The view from our room was amazing, the room was clean and better looking than on the photos. There is a Stagecoach restaurant where we had some great meals too (Navajo burger - I recommend to share it as it was massive!). The overall location was great, not as expensive as The View Hotel but close enough to the Monuments. We also took the Sunset tour which was great!
I have emailed a few times with the lady from the hotel staff prior to my visit and she has offered us some discount for the Sunset Tour. I have confirmed with her that the tax was included in the cost and also the cost of entry to the Monument Valley - I had a written confirmation in the email about this. To my surprise, upon the check in one of the hotel staff wanted to charge us over $30 more and tried to convince us that all of the above fees were not included in the overall cost (despite my email confirmation from Kiersten staying otherwise). The conversation became a little bit unpleasant but in the end the hotel staff offered us some discount (still paid $17 over what I was promised). The staff was nice otherwise but this little situation left a bad014 smell

We loved it. We stayed in our own cabin and my husband and I had the bedroom and our two adult children stayed in the room with a pull out bed and a queen sized bed. We were all comfortable. There was a kitchen, but we only used the fridge to keep things from our cooler cold. Meals were at the excellent restaurant and everything was delicious. We had an issue with our bath not draining and we called and they were there in 5 minutes to fix it! Couldn't ask for a better staff, and certainly the location is amazing-close to Monument Valley park and easy access by car. There is a gift shop, museum and restaurant on site that helped fill in the time and give everyone a different way to enjoy themselves. Family feeling among the staff too.
I can't think of anything. Great place--like no other.

The cabin was clean, comfortable, well appointed with comfortable beds, a sofa bed, table, patio for sitting out and admiring the view - and the kitchenette had everything one would need for a stay of several days - except an oven, as I found when I brought a frozen pizza back from the grocery! The service and staff were exceptional - and the housekeeper went to the trouble of obtaining our contact information and calling us immediately after checkout to let us know that we had left medication in the room. The front staff happily arranged to ship it to us! The grocery and gas station right on the property were super convenient, and of course what can one say about the views of Monument Valley except they were spectacular. I would thoroughly recommend Goulding's to anyone planning on traveling through Monument Valley!
The pool was closed while we were there, and there is no good way to get from the cottages to the main lodge anduseum, gift shop, and dining room without getting in the car. The television service was also poor (Direct TV with a very large number of infomercial and X-rated channels, and the TV was in an awkward location on top of the refrigerator, but these are small quibbles - we didn't come to Monument Valley to watch TV!

When I booked there was limited availability. On their website it states One bedroom villas has a private patio with views of Monument Valley, so I booked this option. On arrival, the villa was located in the middle of other villas with no views. We returned to reception to ask for a villa with a view. The receptionist advised that due to booking through a third party, a view was not requested. After much to-ing and fro-ing and being told we couldn’t move due to the property being overbooked, a supervisor/manager became involved and we were moved to a cheaper queen sized lodge room but again due to booking through a third party, we were not entitled to a refund on the price. The queen sized room was comfortable and clean and the view from the balcony was worth the move. We were also closer to the restaurant, pool and other amenities. If you are only here for one night, go the cheaper lodge option if you can as all the rooms have a view of Monument Valley.
The advertising of the villa rooms needs to be more accurate and either say it has a view or it doesn’t.
