10 out of 10 - Wow top notch service from Kien and Nam. They welcome us with cool towels and drink. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and nice for a family of 6. On top of everything, communication is top notch. They went beyond our expectation. Breakfast buffet is delicious with variety of options to please everyone. They arranged all transportations for us including all the way from Hà Nội to Cát Bà to Cat Bì Airport to Huê and to Danang. Drivers are very tentative and safe. This allows us to enjoy our exploration of Việt Nam and lessen our worries. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask & they will recommendation. They are so friendly. They deserve bonus stars This hotel & hosts. I would highly recommend this place.

At Catba View, you are warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff. The rooms are well-designed, and everything is spotlessly clean and tidy. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, peaceful both day and night, yet still close to the busier town center with traffic noise if you want to go there. There are also several decent restaurants within walking distance

However, the hotel name “Catba View” is a bit misleading, as there isn’t really any view — just a look onto surrounding hotel buildings. Our room had a balcony, but unfortunately, the air conditioning unit was placed right in the middle of it at floor level, which left no real space for two people to sit comfortably — not on either side of the unit.

The hotel is very simple with photos matching the reality. We stayed two days in the hotel, mainly having breakfast and going out for the day to explore the area and for the boat trips. Breakfast is small but has pancakes, boiled eggs, fresh fruits, veggies and... of course, amazing Vietnamese coffee. The hotel staff was friendly as well. It is within the walking distance to Cat Ba centre but also away from noise and major construction taking place in the centre.

We booked two rooms and the triple room with balcony on 7th floor had very old balcony furniture (maybe new but rusty from the humidity and the sea salt?)

Where to start! We arrived and were quickly greeted with a nice drink and the check in was seamless! The room was clean organized and stocked with essentials like toothbrushes and toothpaste! The beds OMG sooo comfortable and not Vietnam comfortable these were amazing! The water pressure was amazing, the view was great!! Location of this hotel is quiet yet close to everything and super central!! The morning buffet breakfast was over the top! Way more choices than most and the service at breakfast was amazing! I cannot say enough about this hotel and ALL the staff!! Nam the owner/manager was a delight! Nam was so kindhearted that I was filled with tears when we left from his kindness! My husband left his phone on the bus before we boarded the ferry to come to Catba and Nam worked his butt off to make sure we got the phone! The bus was not quick at returning the phone so Nam turned into super man and somehow (we still don’t know how) Nam arranged for our phone to be picked up from bus company and Nam hired a grab bike to deliver my husbands phone to us on the side of the highway while we were traveling on the bus!!!! Because of the language barrier we had no idea this was actually going to happen but it seemed like everyone including our 2 busses and ferry guys all were in on Nams master plan to have the cell phone returned!! We were so shocked when the bus pulled over and the bike driver yelled “cell phone”!! The whole bus was excited and thrilled for us! 3 days after loosing our phone we magically get it back all thanks to Nam our hero!!! I would 100% stay here for the hospitality, cleanliness, location and eagerness of staff to want to make your holiday perfect! Thankyou again to everyone at the Catba View Hotel!!

That we had to leave so soon!

Nam the manager, was fantastic. Cold flannel and cold drink on (early check in) arrival and having mentioned I wanted to rent a motorbike, was given the keys to the hotel rental for only 100,000 VND per day. Room was light and airy and with great air con. I had the best sleep of my entire South East Asia trip. Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit, coffee and cooked food. I wasn’t expecting it but it was superb. Hotel is well placed to explore Cat Ba and explore I did. If I went again, I would book this hotel without thinking twice. Excellent service and attentive host. Nam is a true gentleman!

I liked everything about the property

I had an absolutely perfect stay at this wonderful hotel. The room was spotless, incredibly clean, and equipped with every comfort. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and always available, ready to meet any need with a smile. Breakfast was a real delight, with a wide selection of delicious options that catered to every taste. The hotel's location is simply ideal, just a stone's throw from the city center and surrounded by the main areas of characteristic bars and restaurants, which made our evenings truly special. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Every detail is meticulously taken care of, and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. A 10++++ experience that I hope to repeat soon!

The staff at this hotel are incredible. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, to help me when I got a bit lost the day I arrived, and to make sure I had everything I needed. They asked me how my days were, what I had planned, and gave me suggestions on fun things to do during my stay. Breakfast was delicious and varied between western-style food and Vietnamese food. If I come to Cat Ba again, I will 100% stay here. I was sad to leave!

Very friendly and helpful staff, they helped us book the tours/taxis without charging extra fees. We booked 3 rooms, 2 double and 1 twin and the double rooms were very nice, spacious and with balconies. You can easily walk down to the main street of Catba, which has plenty of restaurants to choose from, and to the beaches (20min walk more or less). You can also take an electric golf cart (10K per person). Beds are comfortable. We slept very well.

Despite the name, rooms do not have a view... The twin bed room had a small window to an inner patio so I wouldn't recommend it. Breakfast was good but food would run out quite quickly and had to wait for it to be replenished.

We had a great 2-nights stay at Catba View Hotel. The rooms really nice and well equipped. Both the room and the bathroom were perfectly clean and well prepared for our arrival. The hotel staff was very helpful and kind (by far the kindest hotel staff in our Vietnam journey so far). - the manager recommended us a couple of great restaurants and cafes as well as booked for us the bus tickets to Ninh Binh. The hotel offers also motorbike rental service and laundry service (both at a very affordable price). To sum up, we strongly recommend staying at Catba View Hotel.

The manager is excellent, speaks very good english, and was very attentive with us. The bathroom is very clean The shower has a glass door. The breakfast has a very nice variety of Asian and Western food. Good taste in decoration. Large beds. Aesthetically pleasing rooms. Great price for the quality. We had booked a room in another hotel first but it wasn't good, so we changed or booking to this hotel in a hurry. We were surprised at how this hotel was cheaper and yet so incomparably better.

There was a small stain on the sheets. I'm sure the manager would have changed them if we had told him, but we didn't mind so we just kept them.
