We took a decision to firstly visit the islands on a bigger trip and then to stay on one of the higher end hotels. Everything about the hotel delivered in terms of quality, location to the centre, and service. Views from our room balcony, the pool and the Sunset Lounge bar were spectacular.

It was one of those things potentially but there was a corporate event that did spoil our first couple of days. Whilst the hotel did compensate us a bit in the end, it was hard work and not quite the outcome we had understood to be agreed. I would hope this is rare, I’m sure it is, and it doesn’t take anything away from how good the hotel is. Perhaps in low season they understandably want to maximise revenue but they could have been more transparent at the start before taking full payment which complicated things given their relationship with Bookjng.com. On booking future travellers could just ask for transparency if this is a concern.

Very friendly and helpful staff. In particular, Mr LUAN in the Rooftop Sunset Lounge was particularly efficient, friendly and helpful. He was outstanding.

The noise around the swimming pool. Unnecessary loud music disturbing the peace and tranquility, which the staff did turn off when requested (thank you) but it should not have been put on in the first place. Also loud Vietnamese guests shouting into their mobile phones and not caring at all about the other guests, who just wished to enjoy the peace and tranquility.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Secret Con Dao - it’s a clean and modern hotel, exactly as described in the pictures. You can hire scooters for 24 hours to get around the island for a small cost, which is great. The pool area was always very quiet and calm.

The staff were lovely and friendly but most of the front desk staff don’t speak English which did make things tricky at times. Also, they add a service charge onto the bill when you eat in the restaurant and we found out this service charge unfortunately doesn’t actually go direct to the staff which we were disappointed about. We did try to challenge it so we could tip our waiter directly so they got the money but they didn’t take it off the bill (I think this was because of the language barrier)

Location is central and is close to downtown. Balcony view is okay from the room but fourth floor level has excellent view. Room is spacious and bed is comfy and large. Bathroom design is odd, you can either have privacy for shower and toilet one at a time. Breakfast is abundance only on Saturdays and Sundays but not a lot of options on weekdays. Shuttle pickup is excellent and comforting after getting off the airport. Staff at the restaurants is accommodating and friendly.

A gentleman staff working at the bar slamming the cash register after payment is unprofessional. I have a sore throat and asked for a honey sliced ginger tea but he was agited because he does not know how to make it. Staff could use some training for communications with customers since this is a high end and luxury resort. Price is on a higher side compare to surrounding hotels.

Very much liked the swimming pool & the position of the hotel It was good to be able to sit outside for breakfast. All of the restaurant staff were very good. It was our Golden Wedding Anniversary & our bed was decorated with rose petals & we were given, fruit, chocolates & wonderful cakes which were much appreciated

We booked a city view room with a balcony & expected there would be furniture on the balcony. We knew it wouldn’t be an amazing view but the building opposite was very close, that we had no privacy.

The secret was a very aesthetic hotel with lots of facilities available. The staff were friendly, provided free water refills and the views from the hotel were amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable. The secret was a great hotel located on the main island. This provided us a sense of luxury while being able to explore the local area.

Con Dao is a quiet island and tourism is not well established, because of this the prices at the hotel for food and alcohol was fairly expensive compared to local restaurants.

This is one of the better large hotels for sure. Really helpful and friendly staff, clean facilities and comfortable spacious bedrooms, good on-site food and breakfast buffet. Big pool!

It can be a little noisy depending on who stays next to you and around the pool, but the hotel team will do their best to accommodate any requests. For example, when the hotel was less full they agreed to move me to a different room in a quieter area of the property which was much appreciated.

The Secret was by far the most memorable experience in my Vietnam holiday. The accommodation is excellent, and the customer service is outstanding. I didn’t want to leave! The island is beautiful and unspoiled, and people are so friendly. I need to thank Anah and Thanh and staff who made our anniversary memorable with handmade turtles, cards, swan towels and cake. Thank you Breakfast was excellent most days. We were there for the Lunar new year holiday so for a few days selection was restricted. The service was first class.

Good coffee is hard to find.

Loved the ocean view. The pool area was very enjoyable. We took advantage of the happy hour specials in the lounge. The breakfast buffet was extensive. Our bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. We rented a scooter and were able to take advantage of exploring the island. Anh at the front desk was amazing! She looked out for us and a couple of other staff also spoke English.

Be aware that this is a popular place for Asian guests and we were almost the only English speaking people in the place. It was fine for us, but just know this in case you are looking for a more social experience.

The hotel is clean and modern, in a good location for the town and overlooking the sea and other islands. The team and especially Anh were friendly and helpful. The pool is a great size, and there's a nice rooftop bar.

Breakfast was not great, catering mostly for domestic tourists, which, to be fair, were in the majority. The hotel had all that you needed for a good stay. We just felt it wasn"t optimised. - limited all-day menu in the restaurant, no drinks service at the pool As it's a modern hotel with no carpets or furnishings in the corridors, they can be noisy!
