Great location in District 10, close to a big GO supermarket. We stayed in the Athena Suite, which was very spacious with a lovely panoramic view and two TVs. The doorman was fantastic, he even brought our food deliveries up to the room, which we really appreciated. Daily fresh fruits and bottled water Breakfast was decent and the restaurant has a nice view.

Most of the staff were friendly, though I was disappointed that the older gentleman at reception only spoke to my male partner and didn’t acknowledge me at all when we checked in. I was shocked to be told that we had to pay just to use an iron and ironing board. I’ve stayed in many hotels and never come across this before, especially not in a 4-star property.

We stayed at Athena Hotel twice and returned because of its location and overall comfort. Here’s what we liked and what could be improved. ✅ Things We Liked: Great location – The hotel is in a busy but convenient area, with plenty of food stalls, cafés, and restaurants serving delicious Vietnamese street food. Big C Hypermarket nearby – Just 5 minutes away, a Western-style supermarket where you can find almost anything. Comfortable beds – The beds were soft and cozy, which is always a priority for us. Spacious bathroom – Large, with a glassed-in shower. Nice room setup – Includes a big desk (great for work or organizing things), an armoire for clothes, and a small safe (handy for passports and valuables). Fantastic breakfast – The buffet on the 11th floor offers a huge selection of hot and cold dishes, sweets, and drinks. Definitely worth including in your room rate!

❌ Things We Didn’t Like: Cleanliness could be better – While generally clean, some areas, especially in the bathroom, needed more attention. Hard pillows – The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too firm for our liking. Window issue – Some rooms have no windows, and last year we accidentally booked one. We had to pay extra to switch, so double-check when booking. Passport issue – Both times we stayed, the staff wanted to keep our passports, which we didn’t allow. Not sure why, but it’s something to be aware of. Overall, Athena Hotel is a solid choice for both leisure and business travelers. With a few improvements, it could be even better.

Exceptional service from the moment we checked in to the very end at checkout. I never had to open the main door because someone was always there to do it! Every single hotel staff was amazing. The breakfast buffet was also delicious!!! Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. I would love to return and will recommend to others

Make a note on booking that deluxe double/twin room are two beds pushed together to make one big bed and not all rooms have windows

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now. It's location is a happy medium between the city centre and the airport for those that need to do overnight transfers. The hotel itself is modern, clean and the staff are friendly and attentive.

I had some issues with my reservation and the hotel had changed my room without notifying me of the changes. In the future, I would've liked to be notified of the changes particularly given how often I had visited this hotel prior.

Clean, spacious, nice friendly staff and location especially next door had big supermarket was handy! We were there for our wedding anniversary and staff provided a nice surprise in our room.

The hotel is near my meeting place. Though it is not in the touristy area, there are lots of restaurants and shops around. The staff were very helpful.

The only issue was that the wind from the central air conditioning was pointing straight to the bed and there was no way we could adjust the direction of the wind.

Breakfast could be better, I didn't deduct points because of the great staff.

The rooms are kinda dark and so is the hallway to the rooms

The food variety was good with plenty of season fruits.

I didn’t like the staircase taking you to the restaurant on the top floor No. 11 I am handcuffed it was difficult for me walking up without lift

The hotel is modern, well equipped and the staff are very accommodating. The location is close to the airport and the hotel itself offers very good value for money.

It's not as such whats not to like. It depends on the needs of the customer. Regarding location, its great for quick transfers in and out of HCMC. But it is quite a distance from D1
