The staff is amazing! Lauren and her team have an open ear for everything and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Also they have a big heart for animals, and with kittens, chickens and dogs around one feels almost like staying with a family rather than at a resort. The vibe is very relaxed and the morning view from the water bungalows is stunning!

It’s still in redevelopment, so not all amenities are up and running yet. Also, you will definitely need a bike as it’s pretty far away from town and a variety of food options. However, if you’re looking for a serene stay with a more local vibe, this is the spot! :)

I loved the relaxed atmospere, nice and helpful staff. The bed was very comfortable and I liked the location... it's a quiet place but still not far from all places of interest.I came as a tourist, and left as a friend... Thanx to everyone over there!!

The beach is spoiled with trash.... Just like everywhere in s. e. Asia, but they work on it to improve, although it will be a never ending story... the next high tide will carry new rubbish again(human being is too silly) so actually nobody has the right to complain, cause we are all part of it!!!

So this was my second stay at Freedom Beach Resort, and it got better with each day. I opted for one of the Panoramic Maldives-Style rooms. There was something very relaxing about hovering above the ocean while waves rolled in. The staff couldn’t have been better. Mimi was superb, setting up taxi’s and handing all my translation needs. This place really is magical, and I look forward to my next visit.

Everything was fine

I loved the location and chill atmosphere of the property. It was very tranquil and relaxing, with the waves rolling beneath my Maldives style pier bungalow. The staff was fantastic, catering to my every need. I really felt that the did everything, from calling taxis and suggesting activities, to make my stay epic.

I stayed for 5 nights at the resort. It was such an amazing place to be. The owner is fabulous and very welcoming. I felt immediately at home. I had my very first scooter lesson here at the resort and then I was off to explore the island. They provided me with everything I needed. Food is very good and the bar is super chill and I spent many evenings there. They also have a huge garden area with coconut trees, hammocks and nice seating areas. The beach is cleaned every day and there is also a nice little platform from where you could go into the sea. It is a nice quiet place to be far from the crowds. If you want to be in town you can be there in twenty minutes (by taxi or scooter).

The location was beautiful, on the quiet side of the island with one of the few remaining over-the-water bungalows left on the island. Nguyen, the houseman, is absolutely amazing! We were always greeted with a bright smile and a genuinely gracious demeanor. He arranged our daily breakfast, laundry service and scooter rental. He even helped me track down a phone repair service after mine took a swim! We originally booked two nights but booked two more after we we realized what a gem we had discovered. If I'm fortunate enough to return to Phu Quoc I will definitely be staying here again! Ngu is the best!

We liked that we had a bungalow over the water and had a free upgrade. Always a little breeze and very pretty. Mimi does a great job.

We feel that the property is run down, it needs quite a bit of TLC. The hot water was not working, our neighbour leg went through a plank on the jetty. While the breakfast was awesome, the chicken and beef salad very poor.

I recently stayed at the Freedom Beach resort for three nights and I couldn't have been more impressed! The owner, Lauren, was an absolute gem - always up for a chat and making everyone feel welcome. Her three adorable dogs were a constant source of entertainment as well. The resort is located right on a small beach where swimming is possible, and there are plenty of hammocks and seating areas nearby for relaxing. The on-site bar serves up delicious hot food and drinks, and I especially appreciated being able to rent a motorbike to explore the island with ease. When it was time to leave, the staff arranged a taxi for me to get back to the airport without any hassle. Overall, I would rate my experience at Freedom Beach a perfect 10. The friendly people and welcoming atmosphere make this resort a true gem!

The only minor issue I encountered during my stay at the Freedom Beach resort was the occasional presence of seaweed in the sea. However, the resort staff made sure to clean the beach every day and the seaweed did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings. In fact, it was a small reminder of the natural beauty of the area. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

Beautiful resort, set with a jungle behind and a small beach, the sea and fishing villages surrounding. I loved having access to an SUP, the gorgeous animals and lovely staff.

The toilet was leaking water in the bathroom. The door only locked from the outside. I felt safe and I was actually moved to another room when the power cut but a few repairs would be good.

Lauren is an amazing person, and her staff is lovely. They'll do everything they can to make sure you have the best holiday possible. The location is perfect, like the view. The rooms are basic, clean and spacious. They work with a taxi service (ask for Nana) who will take care of you all along your time there.
