Grand old hotel in the best part of town. Beautiful oceanside park across the street and a block of bars around the corner. This is the old French hotel of Vung Tau that has been haphazardly modernized over the years. My room was gigantic and the bed great, and clean, but it was clearly a bit tired and in need of a bit of TLC but for the price, it was a great value. No real complaints

Location is perfect for people looking for good restaurants and coffee shops, or city center. There are plenty of places to visit in the neighborhood. However, the beach next to the hotel is not clean. Breakfast was good with plenty of food and choices. The room is very large, especially the king-sized beds

The buildings are pretty old, although the premise is very large, many rooms and facilities are left unused. The swimming pool is shared with Palace Hotel next door, same as breakfast room

Perfect location by Front Beach - literally a 1 minute walk. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming - all staff including service and security were friendly and helpful including with extra requests. Ms Bao Vi especially was amazing. They let me check out 2 hours late at no extra cost and upgraded me to a suite. The building and rooms are also beautiful - the building is historic but did not feel dated at all. The furniture and room design is 70s (in a good way!) but nothing looks worn - everything is sparkling clean and the wallpaper, lamps, plants, balcony etc are all beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Linh the receptionist was lovely, so cheerful and welcoming, she immediately offered us a room upgrade, but it was her positive happy personality that quickly made us change our booking from 1 night to maybe 2 to actually 4 ! This old style colonial hotel does have minor issues but when you look at the price the atmosphere, and the facilities provided its a fabulous option. Everything is clean, buffet breakfast is superb the pool is large , clean and has beds with towels. Our room with a terrace was large, well appointed, plenty of hot water, and comfortable. We find that it's not actually the structure of a hotel that gives it its grading, but the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, and here the reception staff - Linh , the housekeeping staff, waiting staff and everyone else we encountered were 10/10. It's position too really good, opposite the park, near restaurants etc and a good walking area.

We liked everything but some small things need attention eg bed side light not working, curtain track not stable.

I loved everything! Location,facilities, staff,room, and surprisingly breakfast! This is my second trip to vietnam and second trip to Vung Tau. Grand hotel is hands down the best hotel that I've stayed in during my two months abroad.

I absolutely hated the Spa, and I am feeling conflicted even mentioning it because I loved the hotel so much. Couples massage, she lucked out and got a great masseuse. Me on the other hand paid for the worst massage that I've ever had. Wasn't pressure, it was all due to lack of technique.

Staff especially Ms Lyn, she was so patient with all my questions and helped with bookings. Really helped. Hotel was Quiet, good location, could use some upgrades but love the feeling of older times.

Couldn't say I didn't like it but had to go outside and into the palace hotel for breakfast so outside in heat then back in but. Good selection, nice staff,

Room was very nice, lots of bars and food options within easy walking distance, foreshore straight across the road, nice little cafe on the premises, wifi was really good, I was connected in the bar around the corner

The hotel dates back to 1870 so full of history. The building and rooms are tired in places and could do with a refurb. The staff are so friendly and breakfast which is included had a great choice. The hotel is about 200 metres from the sea front.

Tired decorating and could do with a refurb. Pool and Gym and restaurant are actually situated in adjoining Palace hotel.

Good location , walkable from the ferry terminal , lovely quiet room , big gym , though the equipment is dated ..breakfast was good , all the staff are helpful and smiley ..

The staff were excellent from reception to the cleaners Although an ageing hotel it could do with a spruce up but it was clean Good location Good choice at breakfast Although a little cold the pool was excellent Would stay again
