This was a lovely hotel in Hay. Very quiet. The room was clean and the shower hot! This is not a luxury hotel but great value for money. The staff were lovely - let us in the room even though we arrived early. A very handy position - walking distance to the pub for dinner -( recommend the crumbed cutlets!) and to the nicest cafe / bakery across the road (delicious) . We stayed to and from our road trip to Adelaide.

The bathroom was nice and the room had a toaster and microwave which was really handy. The room was well set out and a great size for a family of 4. We liked that there was seats out the front of the room to sit and enjoy the sun. The parking area at the back made us a little nervous to park our camper and vehicle, but we parked near the pool on the grass for safety reason which was ideal. Pool was closed for our visit which was not a problem with us all being very tired from the drive. There is a fish shop on the main street that is busy and has lovely friendly staff, for a pizza fish and chips or other great food. Local pub close and a school for a kick of the footy or a game of basketball. We liked our stay. The hotel is a great place to stay and we would definitely stop again if we head this way. Thank you.

The double bed needs replacing as it is not the best to sleep on.

Waiting times in the nearby bakery for morning coffee and toast were out of control. Surely another cafe nearby or more staff in that existing bakery should be considered by someone. :( Couldn't find anything negative for Nicholas Royal Motel so this one has to make it- even though not related to the Motel :)

Great stay in family room as an overnight stop between Adelaide and Sydney. Simple, but has everything you need. Very clean, lots of spare pillows and blankets for the cold winter nights in Hay. Great shower. Welcoming at reception.

One of the single beds was right next to the front door on the opening side. Not an issue for me as an adult sleeping in that bed, but parents might not feel as comfortable with little ones right there.

I've stayed here before and knew what to expect. It was 44C when I arrived but the aircon worked well and was quiet. The room was clean well-equipped and I used the microwave to prepare my evening meal, purchased from the excellent IGA supermarket a few doors down the street. Hay is well-serviced and has several cafes and pubs, if required. I will definitely be staying there again when I repeat this trip in a few months time.

While on the Main Street our room was quiet, clean and easily warmed. The bathroom was modern and the shower had great pressure and heat. The bed was very comfortable and there were sufficient chairs and a table.

While the room had free wifi, after just a few minutes of checking emails and searching for a place to eat, it didn’t work. Supposedly we had used p all of our allocation.

The owners were very welcoming, particularly since we arrived lateish. The room was very clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and generally a very pleasant room. The owner advised us of a good place to eat - 20 paces down the road - and provided us with other helpful information. The rooms have obviously been recently renovated and are very attractive.

Very clean and comfortable room and the man at reception was super friendly and made me feel so welcome. Little touches like the windscreen cleaning equipment at each room were so thoughtful. I frequently stay in Hay overnight when driving from Adelaide to NSW coast and this is the best motel stay so far, particularly considering value for money. Will definitely come again.

We've stayed here several times ... immaculate in all regards. Exceptionally clean & well-provisioned room, well maintained grounds & friendly check-in. Adjacent to local hotel that serves excellent meals. Would definitely stay here again.

The car parking in front of rooms is on gravel which is noisy when people arrive late or leave early in morning.

Shower pressure was simply incredible! The beds were comfy, and the sofa bed was comfortable as well, which is always a bonus! Staff was very helpful with our parking situation 😅

Unfortunately, the internet wasn't the best. We couldn't connect on the TV or sign into any of our streaming services - we found a solution, though. Wall are definitely big enough to set up a projector and watch movies
