We had stayed here the week previously and on our return at the end of our holiday in central Queensland we were welcomed and rewarded with a room upgrade to 'The Stables' where the rooms were decorated in the style the commentators call 'Steam Punk' (Look it up!) with old style furnishings and fittings. It makes an interesting change from the norm - and it's also surprisingly comfortable. Our room boasted the best shower we have encountered in a long while - even at home! On our check-out the staff apologised for there being no-one available to run us out the the airport; instead they called a taxi and paid the fare. An unexpected and welcome bonus to a super stay in Longreach. On the evening meal front you might like to try The Little Indian and the Happy Valley (Chinese) - both are very close by and do excellent and well-priced meals

We had a fantastic stay in this property. The room was really clean, spacious. The bed was comfortable providing a good night sleep. The bathroom was spotless, and the overall ambiance was very relaxing. Great location too with easy access to everything we needed. The information package provided in the room is very detailed, outlining some good activities available.

The two steps out the back to the car parks are a bit high and, on the lean, making it difficult for someone with leg/knee problems to step up and down on them. A small section with smaller steps will be awesome. Unfortunately, we stayed out of season; we would have loved the breakfast option to be available.

Coach Inn was well laid out and loved all the little touches. The kitchen facilities were very good. Appreciated also that instead of those ridiculous little milk satchels most places provide, the coach inn gave us reasonable amount of milk in a proper style milk bottle.

There was only one small comment that would improve things, and this was that the kitchen windows do not have a blind. It does have a lovely window covering, but this doesn't keep out the hot, bright daily sun. Both the rooms we had had the same issue. Aside from this one things the rest was very good.

We loved our stay with The Staging Post very convenient in the heart of the town. We stayed at The coach Inn, was comfortable, and affordable. Staff and owner looked after us so well, dropping us off to Qantas Museum and Stocknans Hall of Fame. The Outback pioneers Cobb &co experience, show, Billy can lunch and movie was such a wonderful time, would very much recommend. Would stay again!

Just a little noisy with other travellers sometimes, But really nothing to complain about.

The Staging Post has two locations. Ours was the more modern Coach Inn on Magpie Lane (while the older Stables is on Eagle St). It was a wonderfully quiet location - no truck noises at all - with ground floor access from street. The layout was a bedroom, bathroom with a seperate fully equipped kitchen with stove, mini-fridge, sink, microwave, electric hot plate, toaster and kettle as well as a dining table with two chairs. There was an extensive range of cooking utensils, pots, pans, glasses, cups, plates, bowls and dishwashing supplies. There was a seperate luggage storage with even more general storage in the bathroom. We had Wifi for the first time on our road trip. Housekeeping is just once per week so you basically take care of yourself. We only had one night here but it would be great for mult-day stays.

Your town is an amazing place. The accommodation was beautiful. Great value for money. Most of all I loved the sound of the rain on the rooftop . Most pleasable.

A little confusion with the reception we were told by the receptionist to meet our tour to the Thompson river sunset cruise at the reception at 430 lucky we arrived early as the bus pulled up at 415 and luckily the bus driver rang my mobile because he was at the fire station for pickup not the reception. Also let the receptionist know that the lock to unlock the room(10) from inside was very hard to open my husband had to use his shoe to bash the lock to open it ,this was reported to the reception. As this was a fire Hazzard. This was not fixed while we were there.

This was a quirky little accommodation option with a friendly staff. They arranged to pick me up at the airport. The room was located out back of the main building and felt like a little apartment of my own. The bed was comfy and I appreciated having a separate kitchen with a fridge and coffee-making facilities. I ate the hotel breakfast buffet one day and found a wide choice of options.

No complaints. I did find the breakfast buffet a little pricey, and on subsequent days brought some treats home from a bakery to eat in my room.

Good location, behind the Outback Pioneers shop front on a main street. We booked a Standard Queen room, which was a little bigger than a standard motel room, in that you have a small kitchen/dining area, separate from the bedroom, which was nice. The bathroom is quite large, loads of cupboard storage space, very handy. The bedroom has a WIR with more storage space. Nicely decorated with a rustic ‘pioneer’ touch. Bed was very comfy, good air con. Kitchen facilities are good, has a sink, small fridge, microwave and a hot plate, along with all the usual kitchen supplies. Shower & hairdryer are good. Bathroom supplies include 2 small soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion (quality toiletries), and plentiful supply of loo paper and facial tissues.

Oddly, the large kitchen window does not have a roller blind on it, whereas the smaller bedroom window does have a blind. The curtains on both windows are flimsy fabric, so there is zero blockout on the kitchen window. The morning light streams into the kitchen and the bedroom, as does the outside light that is on all night. If you are light sensitive, bring an eye mask! If a blind was installed on the kitchen window, I would have rated our stay 10/10.

The person at the desk Katika was extremely helpful He met us at the station so we didn’t have to manage in the 45 degree heat. He also suggested Several restaurants close by. On our last day we opted for little Indian restaurant and the meal was superb. We enjoyed the accomodation. It was roomy, well set up, sparkling clean and with a comfortable bed.

The aircon worked well but was very noisey. Turning it off not an option with the super hot days and nights.

We had an evening meal, when you cooked your meat on a hot stone st your table and help yourself buffet. Food was excellent. Our room much bigger than expected so that was a bonus. Bed was very comfortable but one side had a lean hubby thought he was going to fall out of bed till he adapted

The only problem we had was that we found it very confusing where we had to book in. Paperwork gave one picture and the name but we had to book in over the road under different one another guest helped us
