This is a beautifully renovated hotel in the centre of Mt Isa. Its an easy walk to major attractions and restaurants, as well as having its own in-house restaurant. The rooms are large and nicely decorated in a period style with a very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. It was warm and very quiet at night. There is free off-street parking behind the hotel. The staff seemed friendly and helpful.

We received a strange email from the hotel when we booked with a link to a suspicious looking URL. I rang the hotel and they said it was legitimate, but Booking.com said to ignore it, which we did.

We loved the location for a pair of 70 + years. Couldn't hire a car, which was a bit disappointing. But managed to get taxis for a couple of things we wanted to see. We would love to come back with a car another time.

We were a bit disappointed in a few of the meals at the Rodeo bar & grill. Not going to go into it but a bit more care & attention goes a long way.

It's difficult to fault this hotel. We stayed in Mt. Isa to attend the Annual Rodeo. The Red Earth Hotel actually exceeded my expectations - the room was large and well equipped. Very comfortable and well decorated. The hotel was noisy - but that was due to the Rodeo events nearby, and we were forewarned by the hotel!

It would have been nice if there was a bath in the bathroom - there is plenty of space for one ! The room also has no windows - I like to get some fresh air at night. The airconditioner was making a noice - so a little irritating.

Location was good - nice new deck bar in the Hotel next door serving craft beers and pretty good wines Breakfast Menu was OK ... it was solid enough.. no issues really. Only one on in the Kitchen when it`s a full house is a worry - long waits by others after me. I got there at 7.00am.

The Grill restaurant which is linked to the Hotel was booked out - no room for in house guests... maybe need to keep a few seats vacant for in house guests until say 7.30pm then release them to the public.. I was there on a Thursday night.

The stand-out moment was that the staff arranged (for a modest additional fee) an early check-in. They approved this within 10 minutes of our call. This was a God-send, as we had travelled all night because we had been able to secure any accommodation. The use of the laundry and dryer (no charge) was another God-send. The bed was comfy and there were plenty of blankets. The capsule coffee machine in the room was a lovely touch.

I thought that the shower was a little mouldy and the spa bath needed a thorough cleaning of the jets and pipes.

Clean friendly staff , great central location , room was really good too.

Exhaust fan didn’t work very well in bathroom, and bed is very small for the price and the room size

Laundry is free. supply your own washing powder

no breakfast but you could get it over the road. spa spouts need adjusting, water went everywhere

Location is central and the facilities are quite up market.

The rooms facing the main road are very noisy on Friday nights when the pub next door has live music.

We all loved the Architect and design of the building it appear old which made it feel luxurious.

Locate in the middle of the town square.

Very good disabled access bathroom! Great location. Very comfortable bed. The housekeeping staff were extremely helpful and friendly

Needs some refurbishing
