We are light breakfast eaters and only ate a very small proportion of the excellent range of breakfast items provided.

The only issue, as mentioned in the note that we left on the table with the key, is that the drain from the shower is largely blocked somewhere and the shower base filled up and overflowed onto the floor. Also, before water overflowed from the shower base, water quickly came up through the floor drain in the bathroom . It took some time after we had finished showering for the water to drain from both the shower base and the bathroom floor, Not a negative comment about the accommodation - just a comment that some maintenance is needed asap.

First the host was incredibly flexible allowing us to upgrade AND add an extra guest with very short notice. For this we were incredibly grateful since it was a special occasion. The property was easy to access and included off street parking with lockable gate. The building is wonderfully preserved, and had lovely added features that included the spa, little plaques of historical information and still kept us connected to wifi with standard mod cons. The preservation of the wooden floors and aspects of the building were also very pleasing. After discovering that there was an outdoor area where we could enjoy an afternoons drink we would have liked a longer stay. The breakfast that was included fed the 4 of us with enough left overs to offer unneeded seconds.

There was nothing to dislike, our only longing was to have an opportunity to enjoy a fire. But this took nothing away from enjoying our stay.

Great location close to town and main shopping centre. Setting is true to its roots of the old foundry and has some wonderful history pieces on display.Gary, the owner is extremely courteous and will go out of his way to ensure you are well looked after. The complimentary breakfast goods are outstanding, little treats also provided.

Pillows could do with an upgrade.

From the moment we walked in we were so impressed, from the fire set ready to go to the spa bath which was brilliant! Loved the whole experience, the history, the size of the apartment and all the extra details, so relaxing and close to everything. Breakfast was brilliant, best of everything! We truly loved our stay

Nothing Everything was a treat

We stayed in the Thomson suite which is outstanding and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast supplies are plentiful and of the best quality. Gary and Leonie are very welcoming and have a First Class operation in Gawler. We moved to the Foundry Suite for one night,much smaller but again First Class. This property is 5 Star and well worth a few days as a Central point for day trips. Even a day trip by train to Adelaide from the walking distance Station would be fun . So do yourself a favour, drop in for a few days. You won’t regret it.

There is nothing to dislike.

This was such a well designed apartment. Everything you might need was there and generous breakfast supplies too. Very clean and stylish interior with such a comfortable bed. Welcoming owners. Lovely and quiet location and a nice walk through historic streets into town. We used this as a base to explore the Barossa Valley and it worked very well. We would love to stay here again!

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Gawler Central train station, the main Murray Street, not too far to walk from Gawler historic train station. The facilities are amazing- literally everything you could think of was there! The style of bed and breakfast meant that everything was on hand when we were ready, no time frames to work out- we loved it! Our suite satisfied our 2 teenagers, and everyone wished we had longer to spend there. The hospitality was second to none! Gary and Leonie were so welcoming and helpful. So very generous with facilities and their own time x

Nothing, it was fantastic.

Unusual accommodations due to its history (old metal foundry). However, very comfortable and well appointed. Much attention to detail. Gawler is kind of out of the way to Barossa Valley, but enjoyed the accommodations.

Everything you need for breakfast is provided. The location is close to the supermarket and train station. The host are friendly and accomodating. When we go back to Adelaide we’ll surely stay there again.

There’s one night that we woke up early due to something’s banging on the metal fence at the back of the property for 10mins. It was scary don’t know what it was. But overall it was a good place to stay.

A small thing. The bed was high off the floor for a short person. I like to sit on the bed to finish dressing but couldn’t so I sat in the old chair in the corner but it seemed very rickety. There was an old chest next to it so I sat there. It pinched my butt twice! Lol
