Where do I begin, in reviewing the perfect boutique accommodation? Sophia should win a local award for her level of service and generosity. Upon arrival I was treated to a Barossa red in the elegant lounge while she listened enthusiastically to my travels and offered recommendations for dinner. She upgraded my room (giving me the choice of two), both being gloriously elegant. Once I returned from one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten (at Bar Musque in nearby Tanunda), port in its crystal decanter was awaiting me. The bedding was lush and deeply comfortable. Sophia cooked me eggs,mushrooms and feta on local slow-rise bread for breakfast, with Greek yoghurt and poached quince beforehand. Coffee was delicious as was the fruit toast. She helped me plan my research of the area, suggesting the best order for visiting the sites, which certainly saved me time. We farewelled as friends, and I urge any reader of this review to treat themselves to a night or two at this exquisite bed and breakfast.

The room was very beautiful and the owner was delightful. We were welcomed and shown around the home. Breakfast was a communal affair with another guest. It was an amazing breakfast experience in a stunning dining room. The table setting was immaculate. Cereal and fruit served in a stemmed glass bowl, fresh coffee or tea, and then perfectly poached eggs on sourdough with bacon and tomatoes. The owner also had a carafe of port in the room for us to try- delicious. They also catered for my partner who was vegan.

The bathroom was fairly tight!

Breakfast was superb. Cooked to order. Very relaxed feel and no pressure to eat and leave.Sophia was a wonderful host. Very convenient to all areas of the Barossa . Sophia gave us some great recommendations from wineries and other places of interest to visits. Particularly appreciated her recommendations a particular winery and a gin distillery. room very comfortable.

Bathroom is a little on the small size but as we didn’t live in the bathroom so not a significant issue.

We had a very friendly welcome by the host, Sophia. We were given a welcome glass of wine and had a lovely chat and were told information about places to visit and to eat. The accommodation was beautifully decorated reflecting the time period of the house. The room was very comfortable and had everything that was required and more. We were offered a variety of breakfast choices and were able to sit back and relax in the dining room while it was being prepared for us. The breakfast was delicious. We really had a wonderful experience and look forward to staying another time.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Barossa House facing the vineyards across the road awesome view to wake up to. The room is luxurious & tastefully furnished & decorated. The King Double Bed was so comfortable. Sophia (owner) made us feel like family introduced us to her son Peter & husband Phil. As we entered our room there on the table was a decanter of Port with 2 glasses + complimentary chocolates. Delicious. The continental breakfast was freshly cooked. The best thus far bed & breakfast accomodation my wife and I have had the privilege to stay in. Sophia said goodbye to us and said to pop in next time we visit the Barossa Valley even if it is just to say hello. Many thanks Sophia. Ya -su - re 🙏

Car park a bit tricky to back out to the main road but we managed with a few 3 point turns.

Beautiful house turned accommodation with multiple rooms available. Ours had its own ensuite. It was clean and spacious and just the right facilities for a comfortable one night stay for us. Comfy bed, tv, sofa, mini fridge and coffee available. Room had its own air conditioner and heater so you won't be cold or hot at night there! The rest of the house had coming spaces like a dining area or a lounge area which could be used by the guests. The host were amazing. We arrived earlier than expected and as or room was available they allowed us to check in earlier. We woke up to a beautiful breakfast. Magnificent hosts and just beautiful little place to stay in. It is about 5min drive to main Tanunda town and wineries. We were able to easily move around with taxis being close to a few things (as we didn't want to drive cause of the wine tasting!). I def recommend this place.

Perfectly located, and very thoughtful touches from our wonderful host Sophia. It was lovely to have the opportunity to chat at breakfast table with other guests and share tips and recommendations on places worth visiting.

The shower was a little dated, but it’s an old house and you expect a bit of character to show in some places.

Location great, room was spacious and homely. Great country retreat feel

Couple of minor things:- Tea and milk weren’t topped up on a daily basis in the room Wifi password not supplied upon arrival Shower was hit and miss with temperature control.

Our host, the lovely Sophia, is gracious, friendly & knowledgeable of the area…oh and also a damn fine cook! Breakfasts & coffee were beautiful. The room & common guest areas were very tastefully decorated in keeping with the deco era of the house, but with a fresh modern twist. Bed was very comfy, there were thoughtful touches (port, chokkies, Apple TV…) the bathroom was clean … you may find it a bit squeezie, but remember this is a heritage style BnB so it’s had to be modified over time to include an ensuite in the generous sized room… loved it & the hosts, note: it’s located opposite vineyards on edge of town, (great for a sunset over the vines drink on verandah), so a car is handy, however there are taxis available. We’ll be back should we visit Barossa again. ❤️

Sophia and Maddie were marvellous and looked after us very well. We had the Eucalyptus King Room which had its own private entry. The bed was very comfortable. So much so, we are investigating purchasing one after a great night sleep. The location was excellent as we wanted to walk to the Day on the Green concert. It was an easy 35-40 minute walk each way which suited us. Breakfast the next morning was really great and had us fuelled for our day. We look forward to staying again in the future.
