We were generally happy with the location and unit

Bathroom grotty, all the surfaces in the entire unit needed a really good clean, especially the bathroom. I asked for a specific unit when I booked last year only to find out that we had been 'upgraded' without any warning to a unit we didn't really think was better, and then when I went to speak to the woman at the front desk she kept saying 'sorry for upgrading you' in a rude way, and then said she couldn't move us. I didn't want a river view, I wanted the unit and location that I had previously stayed in and really liked.

The receptionist Janine went above and beyond with regards to helping us. She lent me her raincoat overnight as we wanted to walk to the nearby Pumphouse for dinner and Kununurra was experiencing unseasonal rain. Janine organised a local to give us a lift to the airport (we had returned our hire car the previous day, and taxis were not answering their phones), and she is posting my necklace I left behind. She is the best - genuine kindness and hospitality.

We stayed in cabin 3 which is run down, stain in the shower recess, grubby in the bathroom corners, the table is painted black, ok but with a sticky surface we couldn’t wipe off, cups and bowls stick to it. The bed was comfy. The bedroom blind is fraying badly. Everything seemed worse in comparison to the cabin we stayed in the previous week which had been booked by a tour company ages ago. It was a 2 bedroom accessible cabin, and although we didn’t need the 2 bedrooms or wheelchair accessible room, it was much better in regards to how clean it was. Can’t remember the number, 11, I think.

Very spacious cabin for a family, basic but clean and had everything we needed. Grounds are lovely, lots of shade and spots to fish from the banks of the lake.

For $300 a night it would have been nice if we didn’t have to put the sheets on the bunk beds for the kids. That was an unnecessary hassle. At least put the fitted sheet on for us!! It was also a shame that several of the communal bbqs did not work- in fact only one bbq was operational that we could find. A kiosk or cafe on site would also be a welcome addition!

Location was central to Kununurra but also was a quiet spot next to the lake.

We were in a cabin that was for disability access and the kitchen bench was so low it hurt our back to prep food and wash dishes. Disclosing this prior to our stay would've been helpful. No stairs at all to access the cabin but a really long ramp was annoying, having both would've been better. Not enough crockery and cutlery for the 4 of us, and only 1 bin liner provided for our 7 day stay. Pool was unavailable for several of the days we were there and more than half the washing machines were out of order.

We often stay here and have enjoyed every visit until this one. For the first time we had a cabin on the water. Usually there are none available and we stay one row back. The cabins are always clean and the grounds tidy.

There was no wifi in our cabin. This has happened before in other parks, and it states in the brochure for this park, that it may happen here too. What upset me was the staff’s insistence that there was indeed wifi. My husband sat in the car in the driveway to do the banking and pay bills. It would have been preferable if the staff had just been upfront. I have never cooked before in this park when visiting, but on this occasion I tried to cook spaghetti bolognaise. It is impossible to even boil water on the stove in cabin 27. I tried a saucepan and the frying pan to brown the onion. I tried every burner with no success. In the end I cooked it on the barbecue but the flies it attracted, made it most unpleasant.

Lakeside location with beautiful birds to see and the occasional freshwater crocodile cruising by, comfortable well appointed standard cabins, BBQ and pool facilities, close to Kununurra township.

Minor things that aren't a big issue but worth the staff attending to - ensuring light bulbs are replaced (eg outside light on bungalow), repairing security door locks (standard cabin #6).

The location was outstanding, our cabin was on the lake, it had everything we needed, great finishes, and a very functional layout. The park itself was well maintained, with all the amenities - pool, laundry, BBQs, fish cleaning stations. The thing I loved most was the fact that the washing machines had a card tap option instead of trying to get coins. We had a very comfortable stay and would love to come back.

The Team at the Discovery Parks are very friendly and professional. The place is close to Pump house, Lakes nice swimming pool the view very beautiful place.l booked for a small room through booking. Com but Leigh and the other lady at the front office upgraded my room for free when l told them that l was pregnant and l didn't know that we were not going to fit on the room that through booking dot com. I left my sunglasses and l was a bit worried as they were a bit costly but they kept them for me gave us a chocolate as well. Keep on doing the good work Team 👏 and Thanks for looking after me and my daughter very well.

Nothing at all

Great view of the lake. Nicely equipped and well divided into separate rooms (sleep, bath, living rooms). Enjoyed some fishing from the shore in front of the cabin. Birdlife fantastic especially the bower birds and their bower.

Side of curtain/blind in bedroom window lets light through onto pillows from security light outside. Need to fix this. Also the space around the bed is quite cramped, but rather this than a smaller bed.

location was amazing We were 4 elderly Adults 68 - 76 so the bunk bed wasn’t suitable really. one slept on the kitchen floor, 68 year old. using the mattress off the bunk. I think we should have asked if the bedding was suitable for the aged??

just the bunk beds. only as we were aged. the ladies went to paddle our feet in the pool waiting for the washing & had to move the lounge bed to the edge of the pool to get out. I would highly suggest you have a ladder with hand rails installed which would help the elderly get out of the pool & if so you would find it would get used a lot more.
