Wallackhaus is in a stunning location overlooking highway 107 that follows the historic Romanweg over the high mountain pass. The rooms are nicely appointed in a mountain resort/Austrian/Scandinavian style with comfortable beds and other nice features. Food and drink is provided using an economic and innovative “self service” concept that allows the hotel to maintain their very reasonable room rates. The hotel has a beautiful spa facility along with multiple places for guests to relax and enjoy the Mountain Views. Staff are friendly, helpful and considerate. All in all an excellent stay!

This is an amazing location along the spectacular Grossglockner Alpine scenic highway. It makes you feel on top of the world surrounded by alpine peaks. The hotel was one of the most unique experiences we have ever had. We got the half board rate with breakfast and dinner included and the food was excellent. Gourmet coffee, tea and water with flavored syrups were included and available 24/7. Then there was assorted beer and wine, snacks, sumptuous deserts and some of the best ice cream ever that you could get 24/7 by using a automated self serve kiosk. Each room was given a card to scan to purchase items and it was charged at checkout. It was a system built on honesty. They have a outstanding wellness area including 2 saunas, a relaxation room and a jacuzzi. There was also an activity room with ping pong, foosball and darts. The rooms were simple but very clean and comfortable with most having mountain views. The staff was very helpful in our inability to speak the local language. We had toured for 12 days and this hotel was the highlight for our group of 5.

Super isolated location and great Alpine views, outside. Good food at breakfast and dinner. Very reasonable prices for drinks and desserts, at the auto-service bar. The Kärnten Card included in the price is really great, also and the discounted entry for the Grossglockner Alpine Road.

We would've liked a larger window and a better view from the room. You get the same reserved table for the breakfast and dinner, for the whole stay. For us it wasn't so great, as we got a no-mountain view table, in the corner.

Beautiful area, kind staff, clean rooms as expected. :) Ideal location, if you would like to discover the region of the Grossglockner. Unlimited free coffee, tea, syrups in the restaurant. Panorama sauna. And last, but not least discounted entry ticket to the Grossglockner Hohalpenstrasse.

The elevator was officially out of order, but surprisingly some were still able to use it ... Not a big issue, but it would have been easier to carry our suitcases upstairs with it.

Excellent all around. Great location with lovely views of the mountains, access to trails from hotel and short drive to Grossglockner trail. Beautiful building, large, comfortable, clean and modern room, great bed and excellent whirlpool, saunas (3) and relaxation/cool down area. Self serve meals (except main course at dinner) with a great variety of fruits, vegetables, salads, breads, etc. Free coffee (expresso, capachino, etc). Self serve (honour system) alcoholic beverages, good selection and very reasonable prices. A rare jem and an amazing value! Do not hesitate to stay here

Not that it matters at all ( you are not there for TV), but there was only 1 TV channel. Wifi was weak in some areas of the room although strong in most areas of the hotel.

This is our 2nd time to be there! The location is often booked out. We took the last available room for 4 people and it resulted a bit costy for two of us. In the end, we are happy we did it. The view from the room was breath taking + the extra space we got was also nice to spend a relaxed afternoon with a sofa and a table. The coffee and syrop + mineral water available for free for 24 hours was a big plus. The dinner and the breakfast were included. The options for the day we stayed were unfortunately not exactly what we wanted but the food quality was nice (we wanted fish but fish was for the next day, it was definitely not their fault ;))

This is not a big deal but we wished we could have a dinner in a room where we could enjoy the view.

We recently stayed here for a couple of nights during our two week road trip in Austria. The location is excellent next to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. We were allotted a room on the second floor with a great view of the mountains on the rear side. The elevator was a big plus as we had luggage and we had to carry it at all the other hotels in Austria except this one. The room was spacious with modern furniture. The bed/mattress was comfortable but the pillows were very soft. The bathroom was big with a big size showerhead and all the toiletries. The breakfast is great and varied. A 4-course dinner was included in our stay which was a big plus as there are no restaurants nearby. The dinner was typical Austrian fare with a different menu for each day of the week. There are a host of facilities for the guests including 24 hr tea, coffee, water / sparkling water, a game room in the basement as well as a spa room. We would rate it an 8 out of 10, due to the hot water issue faced by us on both days.

We did not get hot water in the shower and bathroom on both the days. This was a big let down. One more guest reported the same problem at the reception when we were there. The person at the reception (Allen) tried to rectify the issue and showed us the app on his mobile which was indicating the right temperature of water. Allen insisted that we keep the tap & shower running for as long as 30 mins to get hot water. It did not resolve the issue. What a huge waste of a precious resource.

Perched atop the mountain, offering splendid views along the Großglockner alpine road, it presents an excellent opportunity for hiking or relaxation. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The cuisine was delightful. Dinner is served between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Check-in times are from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a strict schedule. The manager's behavior made us feel uncomfortable when we checked in at 6:30 p.m.

Great location, with very nice and delicious food. Great to warm up in the sauna after an all day long hike in the changing weather. Interesting self serving system with drinks. Make sure to come for more than one night to enjoy the hikes nearby.

Room with beautiful mountain view. Very surprisingly clean for a mountain property. Available draft beer at affordable price.

It is still about 20 minutes to drive to the glacier. The check-in time is a narrow window. I made it in time but you will be left on the street if you arrive late after 6 PM. Dinner time also has a short window.
