We booked this accommodation on the day of our arrival, as we had to cancel our planned camping trip last minute due to bad weather. From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful surroundings and the excellent location. The rooms and common areas are modern and tastefully furnished. The garden, located at the edge of the forest, offers a peaceful seating area by a small lake, a large grill, and a playground for children – perfect for relaxing. The overall atmosphere is very friendly, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. We especially appreciated the rich breakfast buffet, which was constantly replenished. And if you’re lucky, you might even be treated to cheerful accordion tunes from the owner himself, making your morning even more delightful. We were extremely satisfied and would be happy to return in the future

We loved everything! We visited in July so I can imagine it gets more busy in winter but even with quite a few other guests, the place was quiet and peaceful. The location is perfect, we were only there for a day and a half but managed to visit and enjoy quite a few of the activities in the area - highly recommend the Lärchwand Aufzug (the most beautiful place!! + make sure to take the bus or walk down to Furthermoar Alm for an amazing Alps experience and delicious food!!), Sigmund Thun Klamm, Kaprun and Zell am See. All these are less than 15 mins away by car. The rooms were simple but clean with comfortable beds and the bathroom seemed to have been refurbed not too long ago. Check in experience was similar to an Airbnb process, worked really well. We arrived around midnight and it was appreciated that we didn’t have to stress about it as everything was ready and just needed to pick up the keys based on perfectly detailed instructions shared via messages here. Breakfast was really nice too with a lot of options for cold and hot food with fresh baked items. We would love to return in the future!

The location was perfect, the breakfast was very diverse and has something for everyone. You can have a great view in the morning sitting outside with breakfast. The staff is super friendly, the room me and my friend had was perfect for the type of vacation we were looking for. Modern bathroom and shower, super clean. The facilities in the basement were great too (table tennis and the gym). There's a hiking trail right across the pension, there's a lake and river right nearby, the dam is only 1,6 km away, the Sigmund Thun Klamm is super closeby as well. Thank you for an amazing experience!

We liked everything!

Nice and catered pension. Actually everything was even in better state than we could expect. Everything was clean and well arranged. The food was good in the restaurant in the evening and was decently priced. Friendly hosts. The location is really several hundred meters from the lifts, but, as the parking on the lifts was free and the ski-bus service is there I am not sure this is that important. Breakfast was also good - there was a variety of food present, coffee machine, e.t.c. Staying in several places in Austria I can say it was even a little above the standard you can get for this accommodation. Parking is free and in front of the pension.

The rooms are small. We knew this from the previous reviews and were not expecting much - three of us could fit in just fine. Pension belong to the Czech (family). It seemed to me that we were in Czech republic and not in Austria as most of the guests seem also to be Czech. Now we do speak the language and we were just fine with that, but some people could have an issue with that (based on the reviews). Otherwise everything was just fine.

Location is perfect if you want to go for skiing, 10 mins walk to the main lift or 1 min by car. Parking is free and plenty of space for visitors. Breakfasts are good, fresh, nice variety. The stuff is very friendly. Rooms are clean, and you can hear birds and mountain river from the balcony. Towels and tea are provided in the room.

No elevator (we had the room on the 4th floor), quite hard after the skiing day. The lightning in the room could have been better. No additional (manual) heating in spring, so if your clothes get wet after skiing, you have hard time drying it for the next day (during winter it should be ok). The room floor is carpet.

This was our second time at Baranekhof and it was just as fantastic as the first. A lovely, family-run place with a warm, traditional atmosphere. Everything is very clean, the staff are super friendly, and the location is perfect; peaceful yet close to many activities. The breakfast is delicious with a great variety. Highly recommended!

Everything was really amazing. In the first place, the location - surrounded with pure nature, really amazing. Peaceful, quiet, everything what is needed to move from the city and too much people :) Our host, Martin, is super great, full of information, willing to help and nice to communicate.

It's very close to Kitzsteinhorn, buss station on the other side of the road, so it's really great location. You will find everything you need there, good ski room, bar and restaurant, I did not need to go for shopping after skiing. It's a bit far from town center, so You may need to use car to get there, but if you are for hardcore skiing - it's a good place to stay.

The breakfast spread could be improved, especially adding some vegetarian items like hash brown potatoes, pancakes etc.

First, Martin, the owner, was an excellent host. We had some troubles resulted from a misleading presentation of the room by Booking.com, but Martin fixed the problem, and he gave us an apartment in stead of a simple double room, located in a better location. We received useful information regarding our arrival, and we kept constantly the contact before check in. The rooms are clean and nice and the breakfast was fine. Thank you again Martin for your hospitality.
