There was an excellent and plentiful breakfast available everyday. The recently refurbished room was quite big with modern furnishings, electric window shutters and underfloor heating. The top quality bathroom was superbly appointed with a sizeable walk in shower. We didn't use the self-check-in as there are staff working during the day. There is a vending machine with reasonably priced snacks, water, soda and bier. Fruit was left out for guests during the day. We loved that we could walk across the bridge to Germany for a drink or an ice-cream in the evenings! Oh, and the Silent Night Chapel is a short walk away.

The Stadthotel is a superbly appointed, recently refurbished (it appears) hotel that used to be the Rathaus and Jail. The only downside was that we were all experiencing very high temperatures during our visit and the building has no air-conditioning due to planning restrictions. As a result, our south-facing room was very warm at night.

After having stayed in hundreds hotels over the past years i can honestly say: this is one of the best European hotels i ever stayed in, in its price category. Staying here also comes with a free public transport day pass for the Salzburg region and the S1 train stops 2 minutes walk from the hotel and gets you to Salzburg Hbhf in 25 minutes. The only thing to be aware of is that the church bells of the church right opposite announce the start if each day at 6:00am. The hotel has triple glazing and our friends who sleep with their windows closed and had a room in the back didn’t hear a thing but as an ‘always windows open sleeper’ with a front side room it was quite a wake up call 😅

Can’t fault a thing. Perfectly equipped rooms, good beds (with a hidden music box). Excellent breakfast.

The space is big enough for a group of 5, and it’s very clean. I like how the closets are placed, right in front of the entrance door so you can hung your jackets and arrange your shoes upon entry. I like the complimentary coffee and tea available in the room. The breakfast buffet spread is fabulous! It Offers exactly what you just need to start your day. I really appreciate the outdoor free parking. Few properties offer the same. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. They extended help when my car won’t start.

If you are not the tech-savvy kind, the self-check in may be a bit overwhelming.

Fresh, well done hotel with a great looking rooms. Loved the interior. Although our room was ground floor with a street view, still felt private and isolating. Easy check-in. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.

Private parking isn't right next to the hotel. It was pretty hot in the room, climate controller didn't work so we had only fan.

The hotel was great. They have friendly staff, the room was perfectly clean, and the bathroom was perfect. The beds were very comfortable and we were really able to rest and have some good quality sleep. They offer a nice breakfast with locally produced food. The location is also very nice. You can go to Salzburg by car (about 15 - 20min) or public transport. If you want to go for a walk, it has beautiful surroundings. Just around the corner is a bridge that separates Austria and Germany. We went across the bridge to a restaurant and to get some ice cream... Two beautiful places to see. It is definitely a good hotel, we would recommend and visit again.

Staff were very helpful. We arrived early and housekeeping very kindly put our luggage in our room while we went to explore Salzburg. Although there are no tea/coffee in the rooms, they gave us a kettle to make up baby formula. There is a vending machine in reception. Breakfast was lovely (continental) but a great choice. We were in a room at the front of the Hotel and the Church bells opposite were lovely to hear. The beds, duvets and pillows were very comfortable.

There was nothing to dislike

Clean, nice room, equipped with all the necessary, nice bathroom (isolated from the bedroom by a sliding door), spotless towels and bedsheets, good breakfast, seamless self check-in process, kind and responsive staff. Silent nice location, we had a good relaxing sleep. Great for the price.

Car parking. Not so far, but my colleague had some problem with his legs so it was inconvenient to have car parking further

The room was very cosy, exactly like the photoes. We felt good here. We arrived about 12AM, and we had to do the check in ourself. Unfortunately we got an error on the machine and we needed to call someone for help. Even if the man on the phone didn't speak so well english, he tryed to help us. He was very nice and helpful. After the call, we could enter our room. The lady at the frot desk was also very nice. The breakfast had not a big variety of products, but it was good.

Great hotel, close to everything in Oberndorf. The bed was very comfortable, which was appreciated after a day of walking. Close to the train station (under 5 min walk). The staff are some of the nicest you will find and the breakfast was very good. We will certainly recommend Stadthotel!

It was a bit cold in the room and the bathroom could use a good vent for showering. Not super close to restaurants.
