I absolutely loved this hotel! I had a shock when I arrived and discovered that it's far up in the mountains... I thought that there would be a beginner ski slope in/out but I soon discovered that I'd have to pay for some VERY expensive taxis (45 euroas one way to Solden!) until I learned to ski! However, despite this I'm still extremely glad I stayed at Silbertal - it's a lovely, friendly hotel and the food is fantastic. I was alone, but the staff were so friendly I never felt like I was on my own. And eventually I even managed to ski to the town! :)

The only issue was the location, but if you book ski lessons with the Blue ski school then the hotel provides a shuttle to the slopes for 8 euros each way - only on ski school days though. Otherwise, you cannot fault this hotel as it's lovely!

Everything was perfect: the position sourranded by nature, the food (rich, varied and never boring), the room was clean and spacious, the personnel spoke a very good English (differently from some reviews we read here) and the SPA was nice and relaxing. Directly from the hotel there are several amazing hiking trails perfect both for experienced hikers and for begineers. We will definately come again!

Very small details could be improved: 1) I would put up a screen or something to separete the terrace/balcon of one room from the adjacent one (our terrace was shared by three rooms, no problem but it would be nice to have more privacy and it would be very easy to divide the terrace in one section per room) 2) It would be nice to have herbal tea or flawored water in the SPA (a very minor detail)

Before coming to Hotel Silbertal we were quiet concerned about recent reviews of the hotel. Luckily most of them appeared to be misleading! Hotel Silbertal is located in the beautiful surrounding on the mountain. The way uphill by the car is quiet demanding. We didn’t have snow chains or 4x4 and managed to reach the hotel but in case of heavy snow it would be impossible. In case someone can’t reach the hotel on his own the hotel provides shuttle service. The hotel is very close to the ski lift. The hotel lift doesn’t work but honestly it doesn’t change anything. For skiers the nearest lift is very easy reachable, snowboarders have to walk a bit, but I did it and it wasn’t a problem - just a good warm up :) Hotel offers sauna and relax area with beautiful panoramic view of the mountains. Breakfast starts at 8, but the ski lift starts at 9 so it’s not a problem. Everyday the same for breakfast but very plentiful. Dinner starts at 18 and consists of 4 courses - you can choose if you want regular or vegetarian main course. Everyday the dinner menu is different and you get informed about it during the breakfast. Rooms are very cosy. We had a really great stay!!

Parking in front of the hotel was problematic. There wasn’t enough car places for everyone. We had problem at the day of leaving because we were blocked by other cars. Dinner menu didn’t always come up to everyone’s taste.

Silbertal was a big surprise for me. Comfortable rooms, excellent cuisine, nice wellness centre with a view of the countryside. And helpful staff. But most importantly, in winter I put on my skis right in front of the hotel, and get to the first lift. And in the afternoon I ski down the private slope directly to the hotel. My secret tip for Soelden, next time only here.

The access road can be difficult to navigate after a heavy snowfall, but the hotel handles its own transport from their private car park. And the hotel could work a bit on the scrambled eggs, it makes them terribly dry :).

Everything was perfect, the location, staff, food etc. We had luck and enought snow for ski in and out but you might check with the hotel first. The road up can be challanging, I made it with a Dacia Dokker with snow chains without problems. I have to praise our receptionist Simona, she was very helpful and really professional, long time the best one I met.

Perfect location for a daily ski activity. Extra thank you for the room service team. Best cleaning and extra care (little chocolate treats).

The fitness lock was constantly jammed. And I was not able to keep my fitness routine. (PLS fix that lock). If you travel there in the winter ALWAYS take a snow chains. I failed few times and had to call specialised taxi.

My new favourite hotel. Perched in the mountains at 2000m right on the edge of the ski slopes. Terrific drive up (you need a 4x4 and chains unless you use their shuttle). Lovely wooden chalet. Very traditional. Beautiful mountain views. Great bar and après ski terrace. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Reception area houses an impressive collection of rocks and minerals. Breakfast is great. Dinner is exceptional. Fine dining at altitude. We were very happy with the vegetarian options. An imaginative and skilful chef is at work here. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Being directly at the slopes is a good advantage. Breakfast was excellent.

The dinner quantities are not enough most of the times and the mix of ingredients might be strange. Some of us were still hungry after the dinner!

If you are looking for the hotel on top of the mountain - this one is exactly what you need! Amazing views from the terrace, no cars around, just fresh air and clouds. Yes, it is about 3km gravel road up to the hill, but it was easy to get there (in summer). We had a spacious room for 5 person with a terrace which was nice. Great place to stay in summer time for hiking.

It was boiling in the room during the night, even when it was +10C outside, so we were sleeping with the balcony door open.

Ski in Ski Out. Food was decent. Driving to hotel along mountainside is exciting, bordering on challenging. Hotel & museum combination is interesting.

Getting back to hotel from slope is tricky. Got stranded. Should warn guest about time to be back or get stranded. Driving after dark, mountainside can be challenging.
